A ten race program has been set down for Morphettville this Tuesday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out six metres from the 1200m-Winning Post; Out three metres for the remainder.

Race 1. (11:40) Canadian Club C,G&E Mdn Plate 1050m
I’ve landed with 7 Street Legal (Bet Now: $2.25) but I don’t really have much interest. Sarah Rutten trained gelding that resumes, placing in seven of eight starts across preps with Rutten and Phillip Stokes beforehand. Looked sharp in a recent jumpout win and is ideally suited at the short course.
5 Scooped (Bet Now: $6.50) was several weeks between runs when racing over 1050m at Balaklava last time. He landed on speed and was there to threaten but condition just gave out late in the piece. Better for the run, he’s right in the mix.
6 Sir Monica (Bet Now: $41.00) is a Kristi Evans trained gelding that resumes. His last run was June 14 at Balaklava when struggling on a shifty track, looking a tired horse. Recent trial win was pretty good and is dangerous at odds.
Race 2. (12:17) Sportsbet Same Race Multi F&M Mdn Plate 1050m
12 Palace Lore (Bet Now: $3.10) can debut a winner. Michael Hickmott trained filly that debuts off the back of impressive jumpout work, both this prep coming at Murray Bridge. Good racing style, she’s one of the leading contenders I say.
7 Arizona Dreamer (Bet Now: $2.90) is a daughter of Rebel Dane that resumes. She ran second on June 14 at Balaklava, trying hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Jumpout win here was quite sharp and should be out of trouble near the speed.
3 Madam Moneybags (Bet Now: $10.00) did a pretty good job in defeat when resuming at Gawler, sitting on speed and fought hard in the straight but just lacked the killer blow. Better for the run, she lands on speed and takes running down.
Race 3. (12:55) Sportsbet Fast Form Mdn Plate 1600m
10 Pretty Morsel (Bet Now: $6.50) each way for me. She has had a few chances to break the maiden tag but to be fair, the depth here is very much on the thin side. Credible effort last week at Murray Bridge, getting back to near last in the run but was good late in the piece without threatening. If she can settle closer, be within range, she’ll take holding out.
5 Shogun Shikara (Bet Now: $1.75) steps up to the mile after a debut second over 1500m at Gawler, landing on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. Better for the run, will press forward again and be around the mark.
2 Mouse In The House (Bet Now: $31.00) ran over 1500m on Gawler Cup Day, getting off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Mt Ribticker. Off that effort, the rise to the mile is fine and is a knockout chance.
Race 4. (13:32) Thomas Farms Hcp (C2) 1600m
1 Flying Brant (Bet Now: $2.50) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m here last start, sitting off speed and tried hard but just lacked the killer finale to go with them late. Back in trip looks ideal and Noel Callow booked, it’s go time.
4 Brave Fortune (Bet Now: $12.00) steps up to the mile after a maiden win over 1200m at Mindarie-Halidon, proving too costly for a field which had little/no depth to them. Tick over trial earlier in the was good and I think with a cold ride, 1600m is fine.
2 Skytalker (Bet Now: $14.00) is in the mix. He ran well a few weeks back behind Golden Cloud, sitting on speed, ridden with intent and tried hard but just lacked the killer finale. Think with a more patient steer, he runs an improved race.
Race 5. (14:08) San Remo Hcp (56) 1200m
3 Leliyn (Bet Now: $7.00) was a forgive from last Saturday, getting off speed, was keen in the run and didn’t have much left for the finale behind Trebilco. If he brings his absolute best, I think he is one of the hardest to beat.
4 Koratora (Bet Now: $2.35) lands on speed and takes running down I say. She ran on Saturday here when on speed and was hailed as the winner but was nabbed late. Good racing style, she should be around the mark.
1 All Shot (Bet Now: $9.00) was a forgive behind Canny Miss last time out. He got too far out of his ground and was never really a factor. Gets in well after the claim, he’s good enough to take this out for sure.
Race 6. (15:22) Rexco People Hcp (Bm56) 2500m
1 Sandastan (Bet Now: $3.60) looks the clear top seed of these slugs. He knuckled down with purpose to win a fast run race at Strathalbyn last start over 2050m, so the rise to 2500m is ideal and there is just no depth to this line up.
6 Girls Girls Girls (Bet Now: $3.30) is a few weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when back off speed and failed to come on behind Suit Of Wands. Prior efforts were strong, certainly good enough to take this out.
9 Tee Eight (Bet Now: $10.00) steps up to 2500m after racing over 2000m at Penola last time out. He got into a decent spot and was there to threaten but just whacked late, suggesting a rise to 2500m suits and as said above, this race is thin.
Race 7. (16:02) Sportsbet John Letts Cup (L) 1800m
12 Florey (Bet Now: $7.50) is a leading contender after a win over the mile here a fortnight back, finishing best in a driving go to score. She’s found positive form and she is a mare that once she finds it, she holds it. Hard to beat against these.
1 Air Assault (Bet Now: $3.40) comes back to 1800m after racing over 2000m in the Coongy. He landed in a plum spot but when asked for the effort, he plodded. Back home, back in trip, he is the class runner and that will carry him a long way.
9 Stirrup Cup (Bet Now: $26.00) wasn’t too bad in the Gawler Cup. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he was solid late. If he can get a drag into the race, I think he’s going well enough to be dangerous.
Race 8. (16:47) Peter Elberg Funerals Hcp (Bm56) 1050m
9 Rich Lady (Bet Now: $7.50) is knocking on the door for the Francis/Kent camp. She ran over this trip at Bordertown last start when off speed and worked home pretty well late in the piece. If she can use the inside gate and settle closer, she will take holding out.
4 Heaven Rocks (Bet Now: $3.90) is a Team Jolly trained gelding that resumes. His last run was June 20 here when struggling on testing ground. He is a bomb fresh horse and looks to have jumped out very well for the return.
8 The Magistrate (Bet Now: $10.00) is in the mix. He ran fourth at Balaklava last time, landing on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch. Good racing style, he will give cheek and can finish first four.
Race 9. (17:27) Aceit Transport Solutions Hcp (56) 1600m
3 Royal Fox (Bet Now: $2.60)…this just looks completely go time. Total forgive at Balaklava last time, getting off speed and was good late behind Victory Lane. Tick over trial was good and the big, big tick is Noel Callow, who has lengths on the other riders in SA at the moment.
7 Casino Showgirl (Bet Now: $4.60) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1300m at Penola, getting off speed and worked home well when second, albeit beaten four lengths. Fitter and up in trip, she is in the mix.
1 The Better Husband (Bet Now: $12.00) is third up and should be hard fit. He ran over the mile at Strathalbyn last start, landing on speed and was a tired horse a fair way out. Hit and miss, but his best is good enough to threaten.
Race 10. (18:10) Kirin Ichiban Hcp 1800m
5 Yorokobi (Bet Now: $5.50) on top in the get out. He ran over this trip at Strathalbyn last time out and loved the way he kept chasing and finding the line in defeat behind Affaire Vue. If he can use the gate and settle closer in the run, he takes beating.
3 Taupo Tiger (Bet Now: $4.80) was a game second at this track/distance last Saturday, finding the front and was hailed as the winner but was nabbed late. If he can overcome the wide gate, he’s hard to beat.
2 Darci Lane (Bet Now: $7.00) was a complete forgive at this track/distance last start. He got off speed and was quite keen in the run, which left him without much for the finale. If he brings better racing manners, he’s dangerous.
