The 2010 Gold Cost 3yo Guineas looks to be a field full of horses with the ability to win.This race looks very tough to predict with such a large field all of which could win this race apart from Editave whom look well outclassed.
The favourite for the race is “Stryker” who is currently $5 fixed on sportsbet.com.au although from barrier 20 in a race which should have plenty of speed on there will be no choice to go to the rear but we feel he will be too far back to play a part in the finish.
We have narrowed our selections down to three runners the first being “Phelan Ready” who goes into this race surprisingly well waited with just 56kg and is the class runner, again the barrier wont do him any favours although from the wide gate we think he has a better chance than Stryker which drew one barrier worse. The trip should suit perfectly and if Katsidis can get him into a decent position during running he will be the one to beat.
After a poor return in the Spring “Paprika” will be better suited to this carnival and we think she is very well waited and suited for todays race over 1200m, again another poor barrier (13) but should be able to find herself 2 off the rails mid field and be inside of the favourites. If she runs to her best today which we havent seen in her past few runs then she is a definite chance.
The third runner we liked which should be at some value is “Princess Qualo” currently at $17 on sportsbet.com.au coming back to her preferred distance and gets a much better barrier than the favourites drawing barrier 9, forget her last 3 runs where she had a few issues. Hopefully she will be 100% today and at the odds will be our bet of the race.

The race looks way too tough to have any sizable go at any runner so we will be taking a small each way bet on Princess Qualo, but it looks a race to simply watch.
