An excellent card of racing has been assembled for Warwick Farm this Wednesday, its second midweek meeting in seven days. Our best bet comes in race seven thanks to Chatham House.

Race One (13:13) : Tab Early Quaddie Handicap (70) 2200m Form Guide

Back Me: Grand Marshal (Best Odds: $2.30) looks the winner on form and at the weights. He was well backed when racing over this track/distance a couple of weeks back and after looking in trouble on the turn, Cassidy lifted this former British stayer over the line late to win. That was his third run this time in, so I am tipping some improvement, and with the claim for Kissick, he just looks the winner, but it’s a small field, and we know how often that recipe can cause an upset.
Big Danger: The stablemate Saghann (Best Odds: $3.00) could be that horse to provide that upset. Had two runs in town, and was just fair, before Waller sent him to the provincials at Newcastle where he hit the lead at the top of the straight and had a good battle with Majorly before that horse just edged clear late. He came out and won on the weekend at Gosford, so the form has held up.
Roughie: Platinum Jack (Best Odds: $14.00) made a mess of the start at Kensington a fortnight ago and lost all winning hope. He gets out to a trip he will appreciate now, fitter, and doesn’t mind the wet track.

Race Two (13:53) : Get Racy Handicap 1100m Form Guide

Back Me: Giving Cyclone (Best Odds: $4.60) more chance here. Was very keen on him first up at Kensington, but he let me down after sitting outside the speed. He seemingly had his chance, but the form out of that race should hold up, and he is bred to handle the wet. One last chance to break the maiden status.
Big Danger: Shigeru Sendan (Best Odds: $17.00) ran fourth in that More Radiant barrier trial, but go back to her previous trial and she easily accounted for stakes winner Valentia, so she also has excellent trial form and can easily win without surprising.
Roughie: Colcmille (Best Odds: $17.00) charged to the line hard late on debut at Kensington behind the impressive Hallowed Crown. Did trial well prior to that, so he has obvious ability and is bred to get through the going.

Race Three (14:28) : Hyland Race Colours Maiden Plate 1300m Form Guide

Back Me: Abbasso (Best Odds: $2.40) looked to trial very well prior to his unlucky first up run over this track/distance a couple of weeks back, getting badly held up behind runners before eventually getting clear albeit far too late and ran a close up fifth. Wide barrier should ensure he doesn’t get pocketed and Nash is the form rider in Sydney at the moment.
Big Danger: Interesting runner is Saintly Lad (Best Odds: $4.40) for Team Cummings. He showed good promise during the Spring, enough for the stable to run him in the Carbine Club on Derby Day where he ran a credible sixth to Paximadia. Trialled well last week at Randwick and is certainly forward enough to win.
Roughie: Teretina (Best Odds: $12.00) is racing quite well without breaking the maiden tag. Ran quite well last start at Newcastle when sitting back in a race dominated by the leader, and above average galloper, Andsoitiswritten. On her home track and is bred to handle the going.

Race Four (15:03) : Tab Quaddie Handicap (70) 1600m Form Guide

Back Me: Really like the booking of Cassidy on So Nostalgic (Best Odds: $5.00) He is a real bulldog who won’t back away from a fight, as we saw last start over the Kensington 1800m when fighting on so well to run third to Singing Flame, who placed in the Tulloch last Saturday. Should roll forward and take a power of beating.
Big Danger: Darci Magic (Best Odds: $6.50) put up a remarkable performance at Kembla recently, sitting wide throughout yet charged clear for a most impressive win, prompting Bede Murray to declare this horse is capable of performing at the highest level. Big watch on this horse.
Roughie: Fuerza (Best Odds: $21.00) ran third in that race Darci Magic won, then went to Albury and was aggressively ridden by Froggy to lead, stack them up then sprint hard from the 600m and attempt to pinch it, only to tire over the concluding stages for fourth. This time last year, he went within a lip of winning the Champagne, so we know he has the ability, and Nash takes the ride.

Race Five (15:38) : Pro-Ride Handicap (80) 1600m Form Guide

Back Me: In terms of form, you won’t find a better horse running today than Beyond Thankful (Best Odds: $4.00), another import for Waller who made his Australian debut over this track/distance and ran third to Leebaz and Canny Ballad. Canny Ballad went on to win the Albury Cup while Leebaz ran second to Weary in the Doncaster Prelude on Saturday. Looks beautifully placed.
Big Danger: Tenacitus (Best Odds: $4.60) resumes here for John O’Shea off the back of a couple of solid trial efforts. He appears to have returned in good order, and although his best form is over further, he can race well fresh and has drawn a lovely gate.
Roughie: Madam Nash (Best Odds: $4.80) is a real problem child for Chris Waller. One run she is impressive, the next she finishes tailed off last. Did comfortably beat home our best bet in a recent barrier trial, and Schofield gets back on her. On her best form, she is a chance.

Race Six (16:13) : Testa Rossa @ Vinery Handicap (75) 1300m Form Guide

Back Me: Holy Delusions (Best Odds: $5.00) ran quite well I thought in the Roy Higgins Tribute race at Randwick behind A Time For Julia, making ground near the inside, which wasn’t the place to be. Has since gone to the trials and looked very good, winning without being touched by Kissick, who sticks with the mare. If she can overcome the wide barrier, she just about wins.
Big Danger: Oxford Heart (Best Odds: $12.00) is finding it very hard to win a race, but gee she is racing consistently. Was wide with cover last time out here over the 1400m and ran on gamely to run fourth, beaten a length. She is knocking on the door and can certainly win this.
Roughie: Magna Amica (Best Odds: $15.00) resumed here a couple of weeks back and looked to travel sweetly in the run and looming to win at the top of the straight but fitness just gave out late and eventually ran fourth. Should improve off that, drawn well and is unbeaten second up.

Race Seven (16:48) : Theraces.com.au Handicap (80) 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Best bet on the program in Chatham House (Best Odds: $4.60), who could not have been more impressive when winning first up at Canterbury after being in a pocket on the turn and looking in trouble, she shouldered into the clear and let down quite powerfully. Has since trialled and looked very good there also. She is a future stakes winner and should take care of this lot.
Big Danger: As Needed (Best Odds: $5.50) really caught the eye with his sharp and brilliant debut win at Newcastle on a bog track. He ran excellent time for the 1200m, and quicker than the older horses in the benchmark races, and that’s the sign of a good horse. He is an emergency, but if he gets a run, he is the only danger.
Roughie: Angel Bee (Best Odds: $8.50) will return a drop back to this level after contesting stakes races at her past couple. She ran okay, but probably isn’t up to it, so the drop back here should help, but I highly rate the top two.
