Ten races have been set down for Gosford on Saturday, headlined by The Coast (1600m). The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

2 Priority Park (Bet Now:  $SP.00) knuckled down with purpose to win last Friday at Muswellbrook. Race was there to be won and she really lifted when it mattered to score. Good test here but think she can measure up.

7 I Am Dirty (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was just fair when debuting a fortnight back at Randwick but she had genuine excuses, sitting off speed and whacked late without threatening. Better for the run, she appeals against these.

4 Quarterback (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after a debut third over 1100m on the Kenso at Randwick, getting off speed and working home solidly enough behind impressive winner Moscatel. Like the rise in trip, not dismissing him.

13 Queen’s Rhapsody (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am going. She resumed over 1000m at Kembla and chased with purpose in the straight but just found one better in Sir Les, who I have plenty of time for. Like her up to 1200m, can settle forward, she appeals.

12 Spice Baby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect Joe Ible. She resumed over this trip in a strong Mares race and didn’t disgrace herself in defeat behind Cantiamo. Fitter, back to Midway grade, she appeals.

14 Sapling (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1100m at Hawkesbury when on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch being fresh. Fitter, up in trip, a definite improver at a likely decent price.

9 Denman Force (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course specialist and commands respect despite the rise to Highway grade. Led throughout over 900m at Wellington last start, with sustained speed coming to the fore. Good test here but think he can measure up.

2 Neil (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini let up since racing over this trip at Eagle Farm. He landed on speed and tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite finish the job. Think a firmer deck and back to Highway grade, he’s dangerous.

16 Ritzsun (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a total forgvie at Armidale last start. Wide no cover on speed and that hard run just told on him late. Think with a more econimical run in transit, he’s more than good enough to take this out.

7 Island Dec (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for Team Price and is dangerous. Handy mare that resumes off the back of two trials, the latest at Warwick Farm and she looked to be jogging in front. Keen to see how she goes against these.

4 Crepe Myrtle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came at Warwick Farm over 1100m when near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when third to Golden Straand. Fitter, strikes a winnable race, hard to beat.

3 Pokerjack (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course specialist and is dangerous against these. He ran over this trip at Randwick two weeks back and tried hard but just lacked the killer finale to go with them late behind Compensation. If he lands on speed, he’s dangerous against this lot.

6 Mr Miller (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a nice horse for Chris Waller. He was brave in defeat two weeks ago at Randwick when wide no cover throughout but stayed on and was quite game in defeat behind Enamorada. If that hasn’t busted him, he clearly appeals.

3 Nobler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and can go on with it. That win came over the mile at Randwick a fortnight back when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. He has done little wrong this time in, he’s a leading contender.

5 Cloisters (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after a fourth two weeks back at Randwick behind Enamorada over 1400m. He got into a decent spot in transit just off speed and tried hard but just lacked the finale to finish the job. Like him up to 1600m…doubt he wins but can run first four.

9 Placid Pearl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 2100m after racing over 2200m several weeks ago at Eagle Farm where she seemed to have her chance but was brave as ever in defeat behind Kureder. Back to this level and back in trip, I dare say she’ll take beating.

7 Cap Saint Martin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 2100m after a win over 1900m at the midweeks at Canterbury, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. He has won up to 2112m overseas so the rise in trip is fine and strikes a winnable race.

11 King Pedro (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over the mile at Randwick where he got back off speed and made up some headway without threatening. Good upside and the rise in trip suits.

12 Romeo’s Choice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Richard Litt trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Jan 17 when second at Rosehill to noted wet tracker Band Of Brothers. Looks to have trialled up very well for the return, he’ll run a beauty here.

2 King Of Roseau (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a class animal for Peter Snowden that resumes, I dare say with eyes on the Stradbroke. He hasn’t raced since an electric win in the Liverpool Cup when giving them a start and a beating. Looks to have trialled enormous, he appeals.

7 Ostraka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hit and miss but is capable. He ran in the Hall Mark at Randwick and didn’t really get the clearest of paths in the straight behind Mazu. He’s a hard horse to catch but his best is more than good enough.

3 Depth Of Character (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. He resumed over 1500m two weeks ago at Randwick and was a real eye catcher from the back I thought, closing with real purpose in defeat behind Hellsing. Like rise in trip for him and if he can settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

1 Zambardo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate getting to 1600m after resuming a few weeks back over 1400m at Randwick. He just found them a bit sharp over the shorter trip but he did close off his race really well in defeat. Like the rise in trip for him and can settle closer in the run.

11 Sir Dinadan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a progressive import for Chris Waller that clearly appeals here after a second over 1800m two weeks ago at Randwick, driving hard from off speed but had to settle for a second to stablemate Rotagilla. Good upside/improvement to come and he’ll be strong late.

12 Portland (Bet Now:  $SP.00) runs well at a price. He comes through the JRA Plate where he was back and wide. He made up some ground but was never really threatening. Maps to settle much closer, he’ll be strong late and this looks a race well within reach.

2 Bois D’Argent (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was terrible in the Neville Sellwood but I thought the track may have been a bit shifty for him and he didn’t really let down. Much better suited here, trial last week was strong, not dismissing him.

13 Touristic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the JRA Plate. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. He’ll likely spot them a start but be launching at them late in the piece and a win wouldn’t shock.

13 La Roja (Bet Now:  $SP.00) in the get out. She ran so well when last in work but just couldn’t quite finish the job in getting the win on a number of occasions. Given a break, trialled well, has a kind map, she takes beating.

1 Mogul Monarch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should land on speed and take beating, as seen at Randwick a fortnight back. He tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there in a driving go when a narrow second to Midnight Dynamite. Good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.

4 Shirvington (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with his best. He ran at Randwick three weeks back in a strong 88 and while held, was far from disgraced in defeat behind Signor Tortoni. Maps to do no work and his best is good enough to threaten.
