Coffs Harbour Cup 🏆: View the Field and Odds for the Coffs Harbour Cup
Race 1. (12:35) Grant Bastian Super Showcase Mdn Hcp 1000m
6 Dallas Duke (Bet Now: $2.45) looks top seed. He debuted over 1000m at Wyong and while he seemingly had his chance, he battled on pretty well in defeat. Drops big time in depth here, he’s the one they have to beat.
9 Sneaky (Bet Now: $7.50) is a son of Star Turn that debuts for Marc Quinn. He trialled at Taree recently when leading and moved well when second to subsequent winner Canal. Should press forward and be around the mark.
10 Bucket List (Bet Now: $101.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1100m at Grafton when off speed and held up at times but did seemingly have her chance. Doubt she is good enough to win but can run first four.
Race 2. (13:10) Rob Young Memorial Country Boosted Showcase Mdn Plate 1400m
12 Kiwi Harmony (Bet Now: $6.50) looks a good each way gamble. She ran over 1500m last Friday at Port Macquarie when off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Kharif. Maps to do no work in the run and is dangerous against these.
4 Occupation (Bet Now: $2.00) ran second over this trip in a maiden during the Grafton Carnival, sitting off speed and worked home strongly in the straight when second to You Are Mind. If he can overcome the tricky draw, he’s dangerous.
11 Cosmic Fun (Bet Now: $34.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m at Grafton, sitting on speed and she fought hard in the straight but couldn’t quite see it through when second to Torque So Hot. Maps ideally, she’s one for exotics.
Race 3. (13:45) Driscoll's Ken Howard Showcase Cup 2000m
4 Enterprise Private (Bet Now: $2.90) looks a good thing against these. He resumed over 2000m at Doomben where he got back to near last in the run and worked home with real purpose late. Fitter, stable has a good record in this race, good upside…keen.
6 Dollars (Bet Now: $5.50) steps up to 2000m after a spank job win over the mile at Gosford where she lapped up the heavy track and made a mess of her rivals. 2000m should be fine, a mare in form, she appeals.
5 Fay’s Angels (Bet Now: $3.60) steps up to 2000m after racing over 1800m two weeks back at Randwick. She got off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Satono Jasmine. Not sure she wins, but it wouldn’t totally shock me given how genuine she is.
Race 4. (14:20) Coffs Asphalt Showcase (Bm74) 1000m
3 Get Some Fun (Bet Now: $15.00) is a ripper for Karen Owen and I think only runs well fresh here. Her last run was Jan 30 at Taree when leading and just feeling the pinch late behind Life Coach. Liked her recent trial, good racing style, she only runs well against these.
10 Jewels Statement (Bet Now: $9.00) ran second over this trip at Grafton last time, sitting back off speed and worked home with purpose in the straight behind Manpower. If the inside gate can be used to advantage, she takes beating.
7 Introducing (Bet Now: $31.00) is an Aidan St Vincent trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t been seen since Feb 8 at Port Macquarie when down the track behind a good horse, Pony Soprano. Can sprint well fresh and a recent trial was solid.
Race 5. (14:55) The Pier Hotel Daniel Baker Showcase Sprint 1200m
6 Lunaite (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a talented mare for Paul Snowden that I reckon could be here to make a statement in terms of trying to impress for a Kosciuszko slot. She last raced on April 11 at Doomben when down the track behind Grammar Lad. Looks to have trialled super, she goes well fresh, kind map…points to her.
1 My Mum’s Toyboy (Bet Now: $2.50) was thrown in the deep end last start in the Ramornie at Grafton and while he was outclassed, he was far from disgraced in defeat. Back to this level, hard to beat if there is petrol left in the tank.
3 Oakfield Duke (Bet Now: $12.00) comes through the Bengalla Cup at Muswellbrook. He got too far out of his ground but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. If he can get luck from the draw, he’s dangerous.
Race 6. (15:30) Coffs Harbour Toyota Showcase Hcp (C3) 1200m
4 Storm Merchant (Bet Now: $4.20) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1100m during the Grafton Carnival when near the speed and was there to win but just found one better in Tide Turning. Good racing style and this looks a race well within reach.
13 Too Darn Finesse (Bet Now: $3.90) was a gritty winner at Grafton last start, finding plenty from on speed and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off. She’s in form, she commands respect.
19 Monte Outlander (Bet Now: $81.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1400m at Grafton. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he was pretty good late. He’ll spot them a start but charge late.
Race 7. (16:10) Coffs Harbour Cup 1600m
1 Loch Eagle (Bet Now: $13.00) looks a great each way gamble here. He’s been down the track in both runs back but each time he has got back near last and has found shifty tracks. Should find a much better surface this time, he maps to do no work, Bullock on…I think he’ll run a beauty.
12 Perfect Justice (Bet Now: $2.90) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m two weeks ago, where he had the suck run in transit and was hailed as the winner when presented but just found Sly Boots too tough and too good. Back in trip suits, hard fit, racing well, he takes beating.
10 Danish Fortune (Bet Now: $51.00) was an impressive winner two back at Muswellbrook before going to the midweeks at Warwick Farm where he was held but far from disgraced in defeat behind Iceman. Not sure he wins but is one for exotics.
Race 8. (16:50) Showcase Mile Hcp (C2) 1600m
11 Caledonian (Bet Now: $5.00) each way in the last. He is several weeks between runs since racing over 1700m at Scone where he got a fair way out of his ground but liked the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Maples. Maps to get a sweet run and be effective late.
1 Vixenette (Bet Now: $4.50) was game in defeat over this trip during the Grafton Carnival. She got into a decent spot in transit and was there to win but just couldn’t quite get there when third. Racing well and should be around the mark.
9 Faiza Star (Bet Now: $46.00) should find firmer footing after racing on a bog at Taree where he struggled to pick his feet up in the conditions behind Rose Water. His best is good enough so don’t dismiss him.
