Ten races have been set down for Morphettville this Saturday, headlined by the Premier’s Plate (2006m), an Adelaide Cup lead up. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out three metres from the 1200m-Winning Post; True for the remainder.

Race 1. (12:25) Sportsbet Jockey Watch Hcp 1050m
2 Rebel Tuesday (Bet Now: $SP.00) had two runs in the Spring for Phillip Stokes and was quite good each time, placing in the Moorundi Classic before a second at this track/distance. Trialled well last week and strikes a winnable race here for mine.
4 Meadows Flyer (Bet Now: $SP.00) is first up for Simon Bates, having not raced since her debut in the Moorundi Classic at Murray Bridge back in October when near the speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Inhabit. Jumped out well for the return, watch betting.
6 Tully Hart (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on debut for Jess Tzaferis. She has had a couple of trials in readiness for start one and hasn’t looked too bad to my eye. Think she does need to improve to win but can pinch a place at a price.
Race 2. (12:57) Croser (Bm62) 1050m
2 Intellectual (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. Team Jolly trained three year old that resumes after a two run Spring prep to start his career, winning on debut at this track/distance before a second over 1100m here. Looks to have jumped out well for the return, watch betting.
1 Violet Lovebug (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in the mix for Travis Doudle after her win at Murray Bridge, leading throughout and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and score. Looks the leader and gets in well after the claim.
4 Sir Myka (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Travis Doudle trained three year old that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Nov 15 on the Parks track when close up in defeat behind Bootlegger. Likely spots them a start but will be strong late and can win.
Race 3. (13:32) Dominant Mdn Plate 1100m
7 Rathlin Express (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1100m after racing last Saturday over 1200m here. Loomed big time when getting clear but just couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second. Back to a fast run 1100m, he’ll sit off speed and launch late.
8 Magna Torino (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a daughter of Magnus that debuts for Stuart Padman. She interests me because she is a five year old mare having her first start. She has patient connections, but I also think that because she is five and having start one, she must be showing something at home. Market watch.
9 Fear The Zou (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1100m after being on speed over 1400m in a maiden on Murray Bridge and tried hard but just didn’t quite run the trip out. Like her back to 1100m…doubt she wins but can run first four.
Race 4. (14:07) The Fotobase Group (Bm78) 1600m
8 Wild Winner (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top for me. She ran a beauty last Saturday at this track/distance, sitting off the moderate speed and was left flat footed when the sprint went on but she kept on and kept finding the line in defeat. Better for the run, she appeals.
2 Surprise Coming (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after a track/distance win last Saturday, sitting on speed and he found plenty under pressure to fend them off and was quite strong in the run to the line. He’s found winning form, he can go on with it.
9 France’s Boy (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to metro grade again after racing over this trip at Strathalbyn when on speed throughout and he tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite finish it off when second to Didwewin. Good racing style…doubt he wins but can run first four.
Race 5. (14:42) Aig Security Hcp (66) 1800m
3 Top Of The Ridge (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after racing three weeks ago over the mile at Murray Bridge. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was quite good in defeat when fourth. Like the rise in trip for him and if he can be within range, he has the finale to take this out.
10 Chance Taken (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over the mile here. He got a fair way out of his ground but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. Hard fit and rising to 1800m, I say he’s right in the mix.
6 King Of Wessex (Bet Now: $SP.00) is first up for Team Alexander and is one to watch from a betting perspective. His last run was Nov 29 over 2250m at Morphettville Parks when off speed and was never really threatening behind Pelevecchio. 1800m fresh signals intent, watch betting.
Race 6. (15:17) Ian Campbell Memorial Hcp (C2) 1600m
3 Saint Boom (Bet Now: $SP.00) was massive in defeat a few weeks ago at Murray Bridge given she was three/four wide the trip yet still had the hide to hit the front, only to be nabbed late in a big effort. If that hasn’t busted her, she’s one of the leading contenders.
4 Testing One Two (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at Murray Bridge. He got back to near last in the run and was good late when clear when second to Sir Leapalot. He’s found positive form, he can go on with it.
1 Royal Scripture (Bet Now: $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over the mile at Murray Bridge. He sat on speed throughout and did try hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Flaming Eyes. I think with a more patient steer, he’ll be more effective.
Race 7. (15:52) Premier's Plate 2006m
7 Crimson Vine (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a strong winner three weeks back at Murray Bridge, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance. Confidence is up and with race fitness, I do think she commands respect.
3 Komachi (Bet Now: $SP.00) tried his absolute guts out in the Strathalbyn Cup last Sunday. He sat on speed and tried his absolute guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late by Kirkiston Blu. Was several weeks between runs there so with upside to come, he appeals.
1 Arugamama (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a quality mare for Andrew Gluyas that resumes, one of many that have eyes on the Adelaide Cup. She last raced in the Skybeau Final when producing an end of prep run, finishing down the track behind Eventually. Looks to have jumped out well for the return and has class on her side.
Race 8. (16:27) Sportsbet Fast Form (Bm78) 1100m
4 Dancing Storm (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing over 1200m at Murray Bridge when off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job behind Fast Bubbles. Like him back to 1100m with fresh legs and his best is good enough to take this out.
10 Mic Drop (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after a win last Saturday where the bob of the head went her way in a driving go to the line. She’s flying since joining Will Clarken and has to be given serious respect once again.
2 Karacasu (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Cody Reardon trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Sep 27 when back in an on speed dominated affair and was never a factor. Looks to have jumped out well for the return, watch betting.
Race 9. (17:07) Hahn (Bm66) 1050m
3 Daisydoo (Bet Now: $SP.00) is bursting to win for Justin Pickering. They stuck with Maggie again last Saturday and again, she gave the mare none after sitting four wide the trip. She is flying, ready to win and strikes a very winnable race once again.
6 Hooked On Wealth (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Francis/Kent trained sprinter that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Nov 22 over 1200m here when back near last in the run and was good late in the piece behind Ginger Sinner. 1050m is on the short side, he’ll spot them a start but launch late.
1 Bristler (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a total forgive from a few weeks back at Murray Bridge, doing far too much work to land on speed and that burn just told late in the piece behind Declared. Think if he can land on speed without spending too many petrol tickets, he’s dangerous.
Race 10. (17:49) Adelaide Galvanising Industries (Bm68) 1200m
8 Major Rumble (Bet Now: $SP.00) took a little while to find that winning feeling again but he got it three weeks ago at Murray Bridge, knuckling down with purpose late to win impressively. He has that 1200m win/run under the belt, he clearly appeals against these.
4 Thunder Shoc (Bet Now: $SP.00) is five weeks between runs since a track/distance win. She got into a dream spot just off speed before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Tick over jumpout at Strathalbyn was strong, she has versatility re racing style and finds a winnable race.
9 Truly Elsa (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Murray Bridge when off speed, wide with cover, and tried hard, but couldn’t quite get involved behind Foremmakate. Racing well this girl and commands respect.
