Eight races have been set down for Rosehill on Monday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out eight metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; Out six metres for the remainder.

Race 1. (12:40) The Agency Real Estate Mdn Plate 1100m
1 Compensation (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should prove hard to beat in the opener. I thought he did a good job on debut at Warwick Farm when on speed and fought hard in the straight but just couldn’t quite get there when third to Castlejohn. Better for the run, will press forward and take holding out.
2 I Am Adonis (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He returns to racing as a gelding after two runs, one in the Autumn last year and one in the Spring, where each time he looked raw and new. Been given a good break, gelded, and his recent trial was sharp, so watch betting.
4 Alpha Zeta (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) placed on debut at this trip at Hawkesbury. She got into a decent just off speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Maps to get a sweet sit once again…doubt she wins but can run first four at odds.
Race 2. (13:15) Drinkwise Mdn Plate 1400m
8 Aladdin’s Girl (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. Chris Waller trained filly that resumes. She hasn’t raced since Oct 15 when a solid third over 1400m at Warwick Farm when near the speed and fought hard but just felt the pinch. Fresh at 1400m signals clear intent and looks to have trialled up really well.
5 Hold The Door (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a GaiBott trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, with his last run coming on Oct 4 at Kembla when off speed and just whacked to the line. Looks to have trialled up sharply, will press forward and take running down.
7 Aida (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after debuting over 1200m at Kembla where he got back to near last in the run and was solid late without threatening behind Spanish Artist. Better for the run and with home track advantage, she’s in the mix.
Race 3. (13:50) Cactus Imaging Mdn Plate 1200m
16 Never Know (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is worth a speck each way. Brad Widdup trained juvenile that debuts and I am always respecting a two year old taking on older horses, especially in the second half of the racing season. Liked the way he moved in a recent trial win at Hawkesbury and for mine, strikes a winnable race.
10 Hellabella (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after a first up run over 1100m at Wyong when leading and giving a decent kick from the front but just felt the pinch at the end. Better for the run, should find the top and take running down.
2 Kawerau (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a son of Wootton Bassett that debuts for Chris Waller. He has looked strong in trial work to get ready for start one and hasn’t looked too bad. I’d say watch betting and see what happens.
Race 4. (14:25) Asahi Super Dry (Bm68) 2000m
I like 2 Kaazi (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) here. Been a fan of him since day one and despite having six starts, he still looks raw/new to the racing game. Didn’t do a bad job on the Kenso last time against the pattern, he maps to settle much closer and be effective late.
7 Koolibah (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a progressive mare for Chris Waller that spanked them in a maiden at this trip at Doomben, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. J Mac rides and with good upside/progression, she takes beating.
8 Dunna Runna (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) was heading down the Derby path but didn’t fire a shot at Hawkesbury last time so those plans were aborted. He ran over the mile at Hawkesbury when off speed and just whacked in the run to the line, suggesting a rise to 2000m is ideal and overall, the depth is thin.
Race 5. (15:00) Kia Ora Bloodlines To Headlines (Bm94) 1100m
5 Bev’s Nine (Bet Now:Β $SP.00)…hard to knock him and how genuine he is. 5/5 to start his career and every time he is asked to handle the bar raise, he does so impressively. Another one here, but I say is hard to beat.
9 Akaysha (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Peter Snowden trained filly that resumes, having not raced since the Sunlight back in January when far from disgraced behind Grafterburners. Looks to have trialled up quite well so watch betting.
1 Our Kobison (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Angela Davies trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since July last year when down the track here. Trials have been sharp for the return so watch betting.
Race 6. (15:40) Irresistible Pools And Spas (Bm78) 1500m
7 Agita (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks a pretty solid each way gamble here. He resumed over this track/distance in the Midway when off speed and while he was never threatening, he was close up and far from disgraced. Fitter, maps to settle closer and be effective late.
5 Wrathful (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes back to 1500m after racing over 1550m on the Kenso where he was one of the runs of the meeting, closing with real purpose against the pattern when third. If he can settle closer and be within range, he’ll take holding out.
3 Nana’s Wish (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1400m at Warwick Farm where she got off speed and was never a factor. Fitter, up in trip, she’s an improver at a decent price.
Race 7. (16:20) Catanach's Jewellers (Bm72) 1100m
5 Los Padres (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) each way for me. He ran over 1175m during the Albury Carnival when bombing the start and despite that, I thought he closed off really well. If he can be within range, he has the finale to take this out.
1 Jellicious (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a quality mare that resumes for Chris Waller. She hasn’t raced since Gong Day at Kembla when second to Weeping Woman, a subsequent Group winner. Looks to have trialled up super, she commands respect.
7 Shropshire Lad (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes back to 1100m after racing over 1400m in the Country Championship Wildcard when back off speed and was solid late behind Warrior For Peace. He will spot them a start but launch late.
Race 8. (17:00) Tab (Bm64) 1400m
8 Spanish Artist (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks the good thing on the program. Not sure she beat a great deal on debut at Kembla but the manner in which she went about it was that of a good filly heading places. Keen to be with her.
14 Chispa (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has been freshened up since a maiden win at Kembla when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Reckon she could be a QLD Oaks filly so she may need the run but she has a touch of quality.
11 Rach (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) took a while to break the maiden tag but now that she has, she can go on with it. That maiden win came over 1400m at Kembla when sitting off speed and letting down with purpose late to score. One for exotics.
