Eagle Farm will conduct a ten event meeting this Saturday. Weather is fine, track is soft (6) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (12:33) Become A Brc Member (Bm70) 1000m
8 Island Magic (Bet Now: $SP.00) tends to save her best for 1000m so back to the trip, she’ll take holding out. She ran over 1200m at Doomben last time out where she got back to near last in the run and worked home well but was never really a threat behind En Pointe. Back to 1000m, she’ll concede a start but be strong at the end.
4 Kat Chinna (Bet Now: $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down. Gary Duncan trained gelding that led and felt the pinch fresh at the Sunny Coast before going to Doomben where he led and gave cheek but couldn’t quite see it through behind En Pointe. I think back to 1000m and with a more patient steer, he’ll run a much improved race.
15 Campai (Bet Now: $SP.00) is several weeks between runs for Scott Morrisey since racing at Eagle Farm when attempting to lead throughout and giving a decent kick from the front but couldn’t quite see it through when beaten a few lengths by Evocator. Has improvement to come and a good racing style. Knockout hope.
Race 2. (13:08) Stradbroke Season On Sale Now Hcp 1200m
2 Italian Riviera (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top but not a betting race. Stuart Kendrick trained juvenile that debuted with a strong on speed win over 1000m on the home deck at the Sunny Coast where he had control and was too good, winning impressively. Straight to 1200m I find interesting but this race is very much lacking quality depth.
9 Boomtown Boss (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Spirit Of Boom colt for Tony Gollan that is on debut. He trialled a few weeks ago at Doomben, winning narrowly but ran decent enough time and seemingly had something in the locker in a good piece of work. Bred to be a nice one and off the trial, he’s a nice one.
13 Electric Brae (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an interesting runner. John Wigginton trained filly that comes to town off the back of a sharp debut win at Rockhampton back on March 8 where she gave them a start and a beating in an impressive display. Tick over trial was a good piece of work, she’ll be strong late…knockout hope.
Race 3. (13:43) Ladbrokes Racing Club Plate (C3) 1820m
12 Sacred Feeling (Bet Now: $SP.00) will love getting to 1800m and for mine is one of the better gambles on the program. Tony Gollan trained mare that has raced at Doomben in both runs back, catching the eye first up before going to the mile where she looked a moral on paper but despite getting back, she cut inside and looked to threaten but found one better in Commodus. Track/distance winner from last prep and third up, should be at peak fitness.
11 Mascaret (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a winner at the trip previously and has the Waller polish so she commands respect. Few weeks between runs since racing over the mile at Doomben where she got back and held up in the run before getting clear and driving hard late when a close up third to Smooth Torque. Back up in trip, she’ll be around the mark.
2 Kokonotsu (Bet Now: $SP.00) is getting towards D-Day for Tony Gollan. He ran over the mile here two weeks back where he got back to near last in the run and failed to get involved when down the track behind Russian Warrior, beaten six lengths. Good track/distance record and third up, he is at peak fitness so for mine, no excuses.
Race 4. (14:18) Cascade (Bm75) 1300m
9 Vintage Choice (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an Annabel Neasham trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Jan 13 when down the track at Rosehill behind Testator Silens, pulling up with a poor post race recovery. Been given a good break and has trialled up really well leading in.
7 Princess Tenko (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. She ran two weeks ago here over 1200m here when near the speed and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get there when second to Bubba’s Bay. Hard fit, kind map, in well after the claim, rates highly.
8 Treporti (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a knockout hope. He ran over 1200m here five weeks ago where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a threat, he did make up ground and was pretty good in defeat behind Evocator. Extra 100m is fine and I think ridden more positively, he’s dangerous.
Race 5. (14:53) Dave Irvine's 50Th (Rs0mw) 1400m
6 Goldeeluck (Bet Now: $SP.00) for me. Team Sears trained gelding that did enough first up on a crap Gold Coast deck before going to his home track at Toowoomba where he looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted, bolting up and winning quite impressively. He’s got plenty of room for improvement and up to 1400m, will take beating.
4 Bean Foggy (Bet Now: $SP.00) is racing really well and should be around the mark. He comes back to 1400m after racing over 1690m at Ipswich last time out when wide early before pressing forward to land on speed and he tried his guts out but just found one better in a good mare, Ella Te Ama. Maps to do no work and off last run, he’ll be strong late.
15 Too Hard To Refuse (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Desleigh Forster trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Dec 2 at Doomben when producing an end of prep run, finishing tailed off last in a plain effort. Been given a good break and has trialled well leading in. Watch the market.
Race 6. (15:28) Xxxx Hcp 1200m
3 Flag Hall (Bet Now: $SP.00) seems the straight bat option. Lee Freedman trained gelding that resumed over 1100m at Ipswich where he produced sustained speed from the front and gave nothing else a look in, winning impressively and was very strong to the line in winning. Tick over trial was good, good racing style, he’ll take running down.
12 Volcanic Love (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a three year old I do have time for. He resumed three weeks ago over this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run and did make up ground but was never really threatening behind Press Link, who I think could progress to Stakes races, so that form is strong and dangerous with a more positive ride.
2 In Evidence (Bet Now: $SP.00) has too many credits in the bank to ignore. He was terrible in the 3YO Jewel at the Gold Coast but that track was very ordinary so forgive and forget the flop. Tick over trial back home at Rocky was good, he is a quality horse when right…don’t entirely dismiss him because he is good enough to be a threat.
Race 7. (16:07) Drinkwise (Bm68) 1400m
19 Majestic Boom (Bet Now: $SP.00) is getting respect that he deserves. 2/2 for Lawrie Mayfield Smith, winning at $101+ on debut but proved that was no fluke with a strong win at Eagle Farm three weeks ago. He’s a winner, a line finder and you don’t know how good they are til they’re beaten.
14 Ocean Zar (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the very interesting runner. O’Dea/Hoysted trained mare that ran here a fortnight back at this trip where the rider eased her out of the race, where the action was a real concern. Vet got a hold of her and found nothing amiss so not sure what to make of her, but I do know her best is more than good enough.
2 Pentito (Bet Now: $SP.00) is capable with his best. He ran two weeks back at this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a threat, I did like the way he found the line late in the piece behind Brookhaven, a solid horse, so I don’t think that form is too bad and can settle closer and still be effective.
Race 8. (16:47) Sky Racing Hcp 1820m
1 Seat Of Power (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found positive form and he can certainly go on with it. Adam Campton trained gelding that ran in the Gold Coast Stakes a few weeks back where he was near the speed throughout and he tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there when third to Red Top. Now in form…likeable against these.
13 Red Top (Bet Now: $SP.00) won the race mentioned above and he has to be respected for Team Sears. He overcame the pattern there, giving them a start and a beating, finishing over the top for a big win. The break between runs should be fine and this isn’t an overly strong race. Leading contender.
16 Tapildoodledo (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a definite winning threat IMO. He resumed over the mile at Eagle Farm three weeks back when near last in the run and was never threatening but I actually thought his finale was more than sound in defeat behind Russian Warrior, beaten four lengths. Fitter and up in trip, he has runs on the board to command respect.
Race 9. (17:27) Ladbrokes Odds Surge Hcp (C6) 1600m
Fitter and up in trip, firmer footing, I do like 8 Rising Pacific (Bet Now: $SP.00). This guy resumed over 1350m at Doomben on a shifting surface where he got too far back in the run and did make up ground but was never a winning factor. Much better set up this time around and this isn’t an overly deep race.
11 Mahagoni (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with David Payne, he now finds himself with Lindsay Gough, having not raced for four weeks since contesting a Midway at Randwick where he pretty much went around like it was a barrier trial in a total forgive. He is a Saturday class horse when right and strikes a winnable race.
12 Rations (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1600m. Formerly with Barry Baldwin, he had his first run for Chris Anderson three weeks back over 1400m at Eagle Farm where he just looked in need of the run but was solid enough in defeat behind The Drover despite beating just one runner home. Much better set up here and has a great second up record. Dangerous.
Race 10. (18:08) Gallopers Sports Club Hcp (C6) 1200m
15 Tojaki (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a good mare for Stuart Kendrick that rates highly. This girl resumed two weeks ago at Eagle Farm where she got a fair way out of her ground and was in restricted room but she kept finding the line and was good in defeat behind Bubba’s Bay. Fitter, can settle closer in the run and she’ll be strong at the end. Hard to beat.
9 Outlawed (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. This girl ran a fortnight back at this track/distance where she wasn’t able to use the inside gate, got too far back and was never really a factor behind Bubba’s Bay. Gets a big jockey upgrade, can settle much closer…dangerous.
4 Release The Beans (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a talented animal for Rob Heathcoate that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Oct 28 at Doomben when down the track and ending a frustrating prep, finishing down the track behind Preach. He can sprint well fresh and his trial was solid enough so watch the market.
