6/2/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Pinjarra, Magic Millions WA Classic day

A bumper ten race card has been assembled for Pinjarra this Saturday for Magic Millions Day. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

5 Wicklow Princess (Bet Now: $12.00) on top in a tricky maiden. This mare has been kept on ice since resuming at Ascot on Boxing Day where she got back in the run and worked home well before dying on her run. Like her back to 1000m and think she will be stronger at the end.

4 Centenary Road (Bet Now: $18.00) is a Jayce Buckley trained gelding that had trialled up pretty well to his debut down the straight here when drawing inside before getting towards the centre of the pack and working to the line pretty well. Should take good improvement off that and is hard to beat.

7 Promission (Bet Now: $11.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Peter Fernie but is now with Michael Grantham, a gun harness racing driver that is dabbling in some horse training. Has shown promise without winning so I think watch the market and see what it does with him.

Fitter and up to 2000m, looks a lovely race for the Holly Taylor trained 2 Cousin Ivan (Bet Now: $2.90). He was second up when racing over the mile at Ascot two weeks ago. Just lacked a turn of foot but was strong to the line when second to Zetorio. Now up to 2000m, he will take a power of beating with Pike sticking.

6 Sowar (Bet Now: $13.00) should be suited up in trip for an in form Steve Wolfe camp. Lovely ride from McGruddy saw him get the job done over 1800m at Ascot in a somewhat blanket finish when holding out Overthought. Did run well at this distance range last prep so it will be no issue.

14 Rhythm Star (Bet Now: $19.00) is progressive and has upside for the Colin Webster team. Ran over the mile last Wednesday at Ascot, sitting back off the speed before edging wider and finishing over the top for a good win. Has run well at this trip last time in and has more upside than most.

He’s a bit of an enigma but if 1 Bogart (Bet Now: $5.50) produces something near his best, he will prove very hard to beat against this lot. Resumes for Adam Durrant after a mixed Spring prep where he ran well without winning. Two of his career wins have come fresh and has trialled up well in readiness.

5 Zetorio (Bet Now: $13.00) is a Roy Rogers trained gelding that was massive odds when racing two weeks ago at Ascot but he sat back off the speed, got decent cover into the race before peeling wider with clear air and full momentum, finishing best. Can he repeat the dose?

10 Wakan Tanka (Bet Now: $10.00) is on the seven day back up for Neville Parnham after racing in a strong race last Saturday when near the speed. Lacked the class to finish it off but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Last Of The Line, a potential Stakes class horse. That reads well for a race like this.

14 Heels A Plenty (Bet Now: $13.00) is a progressive mare for Simon Miller that is heading in the right direction and she can make it three on the bounce here. Was a few weeks between runs when getting the job done at Ascot. You’d like to think there is improvement to come and is in the right camp.

1 Comfort Me (Bet Now: $3.80) is a handy galloper when right and does find a winnable race compared to recent events he has been contesting. Gets the claim and from the inside gate, should be able to hold a forward spot and get run of the race, proving hard to beat.

5 Rum Raker (Bet Now: $8.50) is a Keith Reeves trained gelding who tends to race best when early on in a prep. Resumed over 1200m and let down powerfully from off the speed to win and win well, beating home a tidy field. Good second up record and should be strong at the end. Knockout hope.

Going with 3 Ginger Flyer (Bet Now: $5.00) for Simon Miller. Has been pretty good in two runs back from a spell. Led throughout and was dominant fresh at Ascot before racing here when leading and just feeling the pinch late. Hard fit now, senior jock on, she will take a power of beating from the front.

The best version of 16 Western Rhythm (Bet Now: $6.00) is more than capable of measuring up to this lot. Hasn’t really showed that this time in but her last start effort at Ascot behind Bee Quick was encouraging and enough to suggest with improvement to come, she’s in the mix as a threat.

Back in trip I do like for 8 Scooter’s Machine (Bet Now: $15.00). He ran over the mile last time out in what looked a tidy metro race and just found the trip a bit much. Back in distance, if he can land near the speed without spending too many petrol tickets, he can sneak a first four spot.

10 Indigo Blue (Bet Now: $3.90) has the class on the board and despite taking on the Mares, I think that class will get her home. Resumes for Adam Durrant after a very strong Summer Carnival, which ended with a close up second to Watch Me Dance in the WA Champion Fillies. Has trialled up super to get ready, sits off a good speed and will be strong at the end.

1 Pearls And Prawns (Bet Now: $19.00) is the class runner of the field and that will carry her a long way towards victory. She steps back up in trip after being 1200m to 1000m two weeks back at Ascot, closing off nicely late when fourth to Captain Kink. Hard fit now, up in trip, should prove hard to beat.

9 Cockyjoy (Bet Now: $21.00) is unknown at this distance range but she’s a mare that is racing well and is racing as if the trip will be okay. Got back and worked home nicely late behind Klondike Kenny. Not sure I could back her to win, but think she is one for wider multiples.

1 Not To Be Mist (Bet Now: $14.00) does have a touch of class about him and I think he can resume a winner here in what looks a most competitive contest. Resumes for Adam Durrant, having not raced since August 15 at Belmont when down the track and probably at the end of the prep behind War God. Two trials to get ready have been strong and he can sprint well fresh.

13 Tommy Blue (Bet Now: $5.00) does seem to get on well with Pike so giving her another chance. Impressive first up winner here before going to Ascot where she had too much to do from the wide gate and couldn’t come on behind Absolute. Off her prior efforts, with Pike steering and drawing much better, is hard to beat.

3 Mankind (Bet Now: $14.00) is the class runner of the field and that will carry him a long way. Has been kept on ice, having not raced since Boxing Day at Ascot when down the track but far from disgraced behind Son Of A God. Is a winner at the track and with good speed engaged, will get his chance to finish over the top.

The Sniparoochy form looks the right way to go for this race, so going with 1 Ex Sport Man (Bet Now: $7.00), who has finished runner up behind that speedy filly in both career outings, the latest coming four weeks ago at Ascot when closing off with purpose late, so a fast run 1200m looks ideal for him. Happy to be in his corner.

5 Sniparoochy (Bet Now: $2.00) is 2/2 to start her career and fresh legs at 1200m I don’t mind. Fought them off over 1200m a few weeks ago but didn’t really attack the line, so the freshen up with a trial to tick over I do like and don’t know how good they are til they’re beaten.

Did they figure out the right way to steer 8 Sneaky Chance (Bet Now: $10.00) last time? First two starts, they rode her warm near the speed and she battled away okay. Two weeks ago at Ascot, they rode her cold, settling last, and the end result was an eye catching third, producing some of the best late splits of the race. Knockout chance.

All things being equal, 1 Gemma’s Son (Bet Now: $2.00) looks the one to beat quite clearly. He is the class runner of the field and at set weights, it just sets up perfect for him. Resumed over 1000m at Ascot two weeks ago and was a real eye catcher late after being run off his legs. Harvey takes over, draws well, fitter…keen.

10 Island Charm (Bet Now: $7.00) was big odds when she won that race mentioned above, but credit to her, she was dominant and strong to the line in winning despite her SP. Has run well at this distance range previously and off that last start effort, I think she has to command some level of respect.

9 Mystery Man (Bet Now: $21.00) is crying out for 1200m. Both runs back from a spell have come over 1000m, first up bolting in here before going to Ascot where he produced the best late splits of the meeting. If he can sit closer in the run and still have that finish speed, he’s right in the mix as a threat.

Keen to see 12 Last Of The Line (Bet Now: $2.50) at the mile. He ran over 1400m last Saturday at Ascot where Ryan Hill got him into a plum spot just off the speed and once he presented clear air at the top of the straight, he was always in control of the result and did enough on the line. He races as if further will suit so like him up to 1600m.

1800m back to 1600m I find interesting with 2 Friaresque (Bet Now: $9.00) but Liz Strempel has this gelding going super at the moment. That 1800m run came three weeks ago at Ascot when a closing fourth to Ration Aly in a good effort from the back. If he can be within range on the turn, he’ll be dangerous.

3 Superior Smile (Bet Now: $61.00) is a son of Patronize for the Pearce camp that resumes. This gelding hasn’t raced since the Kalgoorlie Cup when down the track behind Missile Launch. Just one trial to get ready, so might need the run, but do like that he resumes at the mile. One for exotics.
