10 Balaabel (Bet Now: $1.06) puts these away surely. The McEvoy stable trains this filly, who has been freshened up since the Hill Smith Stakes when a close up second to Craftsmanship, who was given a 12/10 steer by Crowther and just got the win. Back to the mile I don’t see being an issue and really, any sort of normal luck from the barrier and she should be winning.

It’s hard to make a case for anything behind Balaabel. 13 Holy Sangria (Bet Now: $20.00) is a daughter of Akeed Mofeed that has placed in her past couple, the latest at Strathalbyn when on speed and fighting on well to run second to Haneda. That maiden looked pretty weak compared to this one, but she’s got placings next to her name, lands on speed and will try hard.

11 Distant Promise (Bet Now: $41.00) comes through the Angaston maiden mentioned above and I thought her effort was full of merit. She was back near last in the run and never really a winning factor, but liked the way she found the line late in the piece to run fifth. Has a stack of upside to come and the big ticks are that she gets the claim for Jerry Chau and gets the blinkers on.

Going with 13 Mayshewin (Bet Now: $3.50) for Phillip Stokes, who is resuming. She had two runs in the Autumn to start her career and gee they’ve turned out to be good form races. On debut was behind Dalasan, who is a star, then next start placed behind Vinco, who went on to be Stakes competitive, so that form reads very well, and the recent trial behind Sisstar was encouraging. Good gate, 51.5kg, she’ll do me.

10 Fields Of Ivy (Bet Now: $2.05) is a Deep Field filly for the McEvoy stable that is on debut. This girl trialled a couple of weeks ago at Balaklava and though pushed out, visually not spectacular, she responded and found the line well enough to win. Vorster remains on for the debut and should get run of the race stuff from the inside gate. Hard to beat here on debut.

Interested to see how 6 Abandoned (Bet Now: $31.00) goes. She resumes for Gordon Richards, having not raced since the latter part of the Autumn when having two career outings to start her career and failing to fire, with wet tracks seemingly against her. Should get firmer footing here and I thought she showed enough in a recent trial to suggest she can go well first up.

On top goes 8 Dark Sentry (Bet Now: $16.00). This Gordon Richards trained filly was around a month between runs when racing over 1100m at Strathalbyn last time out where she was tardy to begin with and that sealed her fate pretty much but she found the line okay late behind a smart one in Garvoc. I think that form is pretty good and fitter, off a fast speed, I think this girl can win.

6 Streetcar Stranger (Bet Now: $3.10) is a son of Stratum that is second up. He resumed at this track/distance just over two weeks ago when pressing hard to find the lead, got it, but just petered out of it late behind a very impressive debut winner in Taken Off. Gets an inside gate with Vorster to steer and interesting to note the Tongue Tie goes on, perhaps explaining the weak finale last time.

5 Seven Letters (Bet Now: $21.00) is a big improver here. He was kept pretty safe in betting when debuting over 1200m here just over three weeks ago when four wide no cover for the trip and that pretty much sealed his fate in a total forgive. Stable is one that can get them to win without surprising and land a plunge, so I think watch the market and see what it does.

There looks to be a bit of quality about the Phillip Stokes trained 4 Taken Off (Bet Now: $5.50). He debuted over 1050m here just over two weeks ago where he got three wide cover and looked to be bolting before Gary Lo gave him clear air and gee the turn of foot was impressive, putting them away with ease. Time was several lengths slower than Octane, but he was very impressive, and keep in mind Taken Off was on debut, so you’d assume there’s a stack of upside.

6 Dixon Street (Bet Now: $1.80) looks the key and perhaps only serious other winning chance. Gatt put her into a sweet spot last time out in a Gawler maiden just behind the speed before shoving into clear air and put the race to bed in a couple of strides for a spank job of her rivals. Magestic Diva has won twice since, so the form reads well, and Vorster on from an inside gate, she rates highly.

8 Star Parfait (Bet Now: $41.00) is a David Jolly trained mare who is still a maiden but that doesn’t tell the whole story because she is talented. She ran in a Murray Bridge last time out and worked to the line strongly behind Magestic Diva, who has won again since, along with another horse, so that form does read well. Doubt she wins, but she’s one for multiples.

3 Hasta La War (Bet Now: $1.50) looks just about the best of the day, right across Australia. Sue Murphy looks to have a really progressive stayer on her hands here. He ran over 2250m on the Parks track last start when heavily backed and under a lovely ride just off the speed from Voorham, he outstayed Boomstock and proved far too good. Up to 2500m suits him better and I think he wins again.

4 Boomstock (Bet Now: $3.60) is a hard fit/in form stayer for the Price/Kent stable who ran second to Hasta La War in the race mentioned above. I thought Crowther gave him every chance off the speed and loomed to beat Hasta La War, but that horse was too tough and too good. Senior jock goes on, draws well…I just don’t see him outstaying Hasta La War unless that horse is off his game.

1 Flow Meter (Bet Now: $11.00) is an absolute beauty for the John Hickmott stable who is always thereabouts in these kind of races. He ran over 2000m here a tick over two weeks ago where the start/stop tempo of the race was clearly against him but he kept finding the line and was solid in defeat behind Wasabi Bob. Up to 2500m is a little query, but a must for exotics.

11 Sonic Deed (Bet Now: $4.80) on top. Ryan Balfour trains this mare, who was unlucky two back at Gawler before racing on the Parks track where she had the suck run behind the speed and looked to be bolting, but when push came to shove, she couldn’t get clear air at a vital stage and was a clear unlucky runner. Think she’s going well this girl and can win this without surprising.

3 Two Odd Sox (Bet Now: $3.50) should be suited back to 1200m. Was an eye catcher fresh over 1050m before stepping up to 1400m where he just didn’t see the seven furlongs out at all when third to Enki. He’s a 1200m horse, so that gives him a serious hope here, and I think he’ll be a better horse when ridden a touch more conservatively rather than sitting on speed.

2 Exalted Lauretta (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Grant Young trained mare who is racing really well at the moment without winning. She ran over 1400m in a strong 64 on Geelong Cup when on speed and giving a good kick, but was no match late for Sophia’s Choice, but stuck to the task very well in defeat in an encouraging performance. Back to 1200m I like, lands on speed and will take some beating.

5 Lippsy Shuffle (Bet Now: $9.00) has turned the corner this prep and I think she can take this out. Has raced over the Gawler 1200m at her past two, winning the maiden two back before racing in a 60 when back and closing off strongly to run third to an in form Aussie Jack. Senior jock goes on, can sit off what looks a decent clip, and be strong at the end here.

8 Ambidazzle (Bet Now: $3.70) gets another chance for mine. Beaten favourite first up at Strathalbyn but was far from disgraced and the run had merit to it, but the jockey said post race she wasn’t 100% happy in the action of the horse. Gets the claim for Gary Lo and is very well in at the weights, and from a soft gate, she’ll take some beating if she runs to her best.

3 In The Fast Lane (Bet Now: $6.50) is a hope here third up from a break. Gave them a spanking to win first up at Port Lincoln before going to Gawler when put up on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish it off. Third up now, so he’s hard fit now and will give himself every chance near the front. The only knock on him is whether or not he has the class.

9 Cosmic Award (Bet Now: $6.00) is on top. Just want to see a market push. This mare is having her first run for the Travis Doudle team after a three run prep in the Autumn to start his career, where he last raced at Stakes level and was far from disgraced behind East Indiaman. Can’t find a recent jumpout for her so that’s why the market will be the guide, but ability wise, I think she’s the best horse.

5 Orbost (Bet Now: $3.80) is a Will Clarken trained mare who had trialled up really well prior to resuming at Strathalbyn when put on speed under Pannell and gave a really good kick on the turn, looking home, but was nabbed near the peg by the in form Bolt I Am. Tricky draw, but does have early speed, so I think if Pannell wants to use that, she can and get over without spending too many petrol tickets.

10 Sophina Diva (Bet Now: $10.00) is racing really well at the moment for the Jolly camp but she can’t quite crack it for a win. Ran over 1000m on the Parks track last time out when just off the pace and tried hard but couldn’t get the win when a narrow second to Goodgee. Senior jock goes on, does no work from the inside gate…good thing to run top four…can she win?

Third up from a break, 6 Karaoke Express (Bet Now: $15.00) should just about be ready re fitness. He ran over the mile here last time out in what was a real on pace domination won by the low flying Tongsai Boss but I really liked the way he found the line late in the piece. Drops significantly in depth, like him up to 1800m and should get a lovely run from the barrier.

4 Grabbing Glory (Bet Now: $2.50) is one of the hardest to beat. This mare has been up a fair while for the Macdonald/Gluyas stable but continues to race very well. Ran at this track/distance last time out and just got a mile out of his ground but loved the way he found the line late when third to Korodon. She’s going really well at the moment and hopefully Jerry Chau can take advantage of the gate.

7 Seattle Sound (Bet Now: $11.00) should be suited up in trip for the McEvoy stable. Resumed over 1400m at Balaklava where he got a fair way back in the run and never really looked a winning threat, but finished off the race well behind an in form Crema On Jetty. Up to 1800m I like, draws out so gets clear air from the outset one would assume, and this is a winnable race.
