4/12/2020 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Sunshine Coast

Seven races will be run and won at the Sunny Coast this Friday night. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out five metres for the entire circuit.

1200m is short of her best but 14 Trust In Aloha (Bet Now: $2.05) looks to have a touch of quality about her and with the claim for Wilson-Taylor, she’s in with 51kg and that gets her home for mine. Showed good city ability last prep as a juvenile and her recent trial win here was impressive. Class gets her home I think and she can head to town soon after.

9 Qiji Bellezza (Bet Now: $7.50) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Stuart Kendrick, she now finds herself with Billy Healey. Wasn’t beaten that far in a majority of her races last prep. Now with Healey, thought she went well in winning a recent Beaudesert trial, she draws gate one…market will tell you if she’s ready or not.

4 Strapped (Bet Now: $35.00) is a son of Real Saga for Ben Ahrens that resumes and returns to racing as a gelding. Didn’t set the world on fire on debut at Warwick back in June when on a bottomless track and failing to pick his feet up. Has had three trials to get ready for his return, so the grounding is there, and the Wiggins/Ahrens combo has a 52% first three rate the last 12 months.

This looks a race where you could have a throw at the stumps and I’m doing that with the Matty Kropp trained three year old 7 Coynes Road (Bet Now: $18.00), who has won his past two, albeit on the sand at Charleville and Roma respectively, but he has run solid time in each win and has gapped his rivals in doing so. Few question marks on some of these, whereas he is hard fit and in winning form, plus 1200m looks okay.

At the time of writing this, there was no rider booked for 4 Dejanova (Bet Now: $3.20) for the weekend, whereas Tiff Brooker has been booked for this race, so I’m assuming she runs here. Far from disgraced last time out here at Saturday level when beaten a couple of lengths by a handy filly in Dzsenifer. Looks well placed back to this level off that run, but keep in mind first up she was beaten in a Class One.

1 Treasure Of Gold (Bet Now: $10.00) is a big watch here. Michael Nolan trains this three year old, who returns to racing as a gelding. Showed good promise when last in work, measuring up in some tidy races in town before being spelled. Better suited over a bit further, but is the class runner, so watch the market and see what it does.

I do like 12 Thrasher (Bet Now: $3.80) up to the mile here for the in form Chris Munce team. Was on her when she raced over 1400m at the Gold Coast. She just got totally lost when the sprint went on before the turn and at one stage, looked like she would run last. Ran through the pain barrier and charged late nearer the inside to run third. Off that, eats up the mile, and gets a significant jockey upgrade.

1 Makedon (Bet Now: $2.90) can certainly win this. Backing him to do that is another matter though because he was a beaten favourite in 3/4 runs when last in work. Interesting he resumes at the mile but the recent trial win here was very impressive, suggesting he’s ready to go here first up, but of course, watch the market.

9 Gonzo (Bet Now: $41.00) could sneak a first four spot at big odds. The Geran team trains this gelding, who ran over the mile at Beaudesert last time out and worked home well enough without threatening behind Beckford, who has city form, so that doesn’t read too bad for this and hopefully the good gate is used to advantage.

I think this run will tell us where 5 Cosmic Gossip (Bet Now: $4.80) is at. If she can’t put these away or go close in doing so, then she’s in trouble. All three runs this time in in have come in strong Saturday 3YO company. Now drops to a relatively thin 65 ratings race, and if she produces anything near her best, she wins. But just want to see her do it first before diving in.

1 Fort Wayne (Bet Now: $2.40) looks the only other winning hope. Comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m here three weeks ago. Got back in the run under Jimmy Orman before peeling into clear air and winding up strongly when second to stablemate Silesian. Better suited at the mile IMO and the claim certainly helps.

2 Brocson (Bet Now: $16.00) might need one more but he’s got the class and talent to perhaps sneak a first four spot here. Ran over the mile at Doomben last time out where he found the class a bit rich when down the track behind Seentoomany. Better suited here…not sure he wins, but can fill a first four spot at odds.

Like 2 All To Do (Bet Now: $2.15) here. Stuart Kendrick trained three year old that is a few weeks between runs since leading and bolting up to win at this track/distance. He could hold up and lead, but I’d love to see Orman get the sit behind Don’tdie Wondering, peeling off its back and proving too strong at the end.

3 Superare (Bet Now: $2.70) is a stablemate of All To Do that has the class to win this, but his endeavour has been somewhat lacking in recent times. Ran over this track/distance in a strong 3YO race at Saturday level and found the class a bit much behind Fleet Dove. Better suited at this level and with the claim, hard to beat.

6 Don’tdie Wondering (Bet Now: $3.30) should lead this field up and give them something to chase. That was the case when she raced over 1000m at Ballina last time out, leading and looking home, only to be nabbed in the last couple of strides by Logan’s Blade. Has the speed to cross and lead, potentially giving a bold sight.

6 Lady Brahmos (Bet Now: $2.70) deserves another chance. Stuart Kendrick trained mare that was two months between runs when racing here just under two weeks ago, getting back in the run and making up some ground without threatening behind Veranes. She’ll come on from that and the rise to 1300m looks ideal.

4 Love Express (Bet Now: $4.20) is a leading contender for Jack Duncan. Resumed in the Veranes race mentioned above. He too was back in the run, but liked the way he closed off to finish sixth in a very encouraging return. Was close up in a strong 3YO race second up last prep, so the form around him reads well for a race like this.

2 Bryneich (Bet Now: $7.00) is a Chris Anderson trained gelding that had trialled up well prior to resuming over 1200m at the Gold Coast where he got back in the run and closed off nicely against the moderate tempo, set by the eventual winner Fuji Flyer. Like him up to 1300m and gets Brad Stewart steering. Hard to beat.

6 Tactical Move (Bet Now: $10.00) for me in the get out. Team Edmonds trained four year old that resumes, having not raced since June 7 when down the track at Ipswich and on face value, was ordinary, but was found that the saddle shifted shortly after the start, so a total forgive. Trials leading in have been great and finds a suitable race to kick off the prep a winner.

2 Bellicose (Bet Now: $9.50) has done little wrong in two runs back from a spell for Trevor Thomas. Really caught the eye first up here behind the in form Threepoint Missile before getting the job done when ridden somewhat upside down at Ipswich, leading throughout. Harder here, but has a gate to use and get a perfect trip.

9 Luskin Hero (Bet Now: $8.00) can bounce back. Was thrown in the deep end first up at Doomben and found the class a bit much when down the track behind a smart one in Dominant King. Trial was a bit inconclusive prior to that but does get Brad Stewart to steer so he can easily bounce back in a race like this. Don’t dismiss him.
