Ten races has been set down for Flemington on Saturday for Turnbull Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out nine metres for the entire circuit.

10 Stoli Bolli (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a great gamble here. He ran three weeks ago down the straight where he was near the outside fence, spotted those nearer the inside too much head start but loved the way he found the line late in the piece. Hard fit now, back up to 1200m, and if within range, he’ll take holding out.

7 Persian Spirit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned enormous. He resumed with a bang three weeks ago, producing very good change up speed from off the pace to win well in a race that rated through the roof. Fitter, 1200m is fine, leading contender.

11 Princess Que (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over 1200m at The Valley when on speed and tried hard but had no answers late for La Fracas. Good racing style and hard to knock the way she’s racing.

9 One Day A Time (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Bivouac filly that is on debut for Team McEvoy and has looked sharp in jumpout work, the latest seeing her win here last week and ran good time, moving really well when asked for the effort. Keen to see how she goes.

5 Knurl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a stablemate of One Day A Time that also won a jumpout here last week. He moved nicely and once clicked up, he won and won in solid time. Draws to get cood cover and be effective late. Key chance.

4 Knightsbridge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for GaiBott. He won a trial last Monday on the Kenso, albeit the margin was narrow. He moved well enough I thought and ran decent time, so keen to see how he goes, especially with a stable who love to get them ready early.

2 Miewa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Nick Ryan since giving them a start and a beating to win over the mile at The Valley, getting better as the race went on to score. Tick over jumpout last week was encouraging and he gives every indication of eating up 1800m. Keen on his prospects.

3 Officiate (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love the rise to 1800m after a maiden win over 1550m at Canterbury where he kept surging late and lunged on the line to win. He’ll have no issu with the extra 250m, strong late, in form…appeals.

11 Arabian Prince (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Mick Kent trained three year old that resumes, having not raced since his debut in the Byerley at this track/distance where he kept finding the line when third. He’ll be a prospect in the Derby and has got the experience at the 1800m.

Very keen here on 3 Spicy Lu (Bet Now:  $SP.00). Nick Olive trained filly that was completely lost around Caulfield in the Jim Moloney but I really liked the way she finished her race off in defeat when fourth. She’ll eat up the mile at Flemington and with a more positive steer, she’s going to take a power of beating.

5 Just A Journey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to Melbourne off the back of a win at the midweeks at Canterbury when leading throughout and had enough in hand to score. 1600m should be fine, J Mac on, good racing style…rates highly.

6 Just Kick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to fillies grade after taking on the boys in the Exford three weeks back when just off the speed and seemed to have her chance but just lacked the killer blow behind Vinrock. Better suited here I feel, she’s one of the leading contenders.

4 On Display (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a good thing and can stamp herself as one of the top seeds for the Empire Rose. She should have gone awfully close in the Let’s Elope but had zero luck in the straight and pretty much went around like a barrier trial. If the breaks go her way, good luck beating her.

Uncle Chris had a few nominated for this race but goes with the sole rep via 9 Movin Out (Bet Now:  $SP.00) and I say she is quite dangerous. Race shape was against her in the Tibbie at Newcastle but didn’t mind her finale in defeat. Fitter, up in trip, J Mac, she appeals.

7 Roll On High (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1200m two weeks back at Caulfield where she found them a bit sharp but she kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Like her up in trip and her best is good enough to be a knockout hope.

1 Tentyris (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the more fascinating runners on the card. He is a very good colt that resumes for Team Freedman, having not raced since the Todman when giving them a start and a beating, making sure he was going to be near favourite for the Slipper but injury meant he had to go for a spell. Jumpout work has been strong, he takes beating.

3 Jimmy Recard (Bet Now:  $SP.00) deserves another look for Ciaron Maher. He ran behind Tycoon Star in the McNeil a few weeks back where he seemed to have his chance but he stayed on and was far from disgraced in defeat when third. Proven down the straight, hard fit now, he can bounce back.

9 Inkaruna (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can measure up here against the boys. She resumed against her own age/sex in the Cap D’Antibes when back and held up at times before eventually getting clear air and was good late when third to My Gladiola. Better for the run, she can launch late.

7 Interpretation (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be sneaky flying and rising to 2500m at Flemington, I think he’s worthy of an each way speck. He comes through the Naturalism from two weeks ago over 2000m at Caulfield. He got back in the run and was never really threatening but didn’t mind his finale. Better set up here, upside, strong late…happy to have a throw at the stumps.

12 Mormona (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Archer from three weeks ago. He got into a reasonable spot in transit near the speed and was there to win but just couldn’t quite get there when second to the very much in form Revelare. Racing well and commands respect.

3 Asterix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. Needed the run fresh at Rosehill before going to the Naturalism where he was dragged to last but did make up headway behind Half Yours. Like him up to 2500m, hard fit and J Mac on.

7 Aeliana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gets her chance. Just missed in the Winx Stakes before going to the Makybe Diva where she was one of the first off the bit when Mr Brightside dashed but she kept on and was really good in defeat. 2000m, hard fit now…she runs very well.

4 Via Sistina (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won this race last year and is on track to repeat the dose. The Makybe Diva was embarrassing re race shape so just forget she went around. She actually picked up late and was pretty good to/through the line. 2000m, runs on the board, class…has to be respected.

2 Land Legend (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks right on track. He was another that didn’t appear 100% around Caulfield in the Underwood but was a real eye catcher late, closing with real purpose. Gets to 2000m, big track and has a sense of timing with an eye towards the Cups.

12 Payline (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a great each way speck. He comes through the Manikato from last Friday night. He got back off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat behind Charm Stone. Drawn the right part of the track to get good cover and launch late.

1 War Machine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a class animal for Team Hayes that resumes, having not raced since the Stradbroke where he got the A1 run in transit and was far too good for them in the straight. He is the class horse of the field and has trialled up super.

13 Star Patrol (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for me. Clinton McDonald trained gelding that resumed three weeks ago down the straight here when contesting the Bobbie Lewis. He was on speed throughout and tried hard but first up, condition just gave way late when second to Arkansaw Kid. Better for the run, he appeals.

5 Is It Me (Bet Now:  $SP.00) FINALLY gets to 1400m at Flemington and with that in mind, he’s the one for me. He ran in the Sir Rupert Clarke when outclassed but far from disgraced in defeat behind Sepals. Maps perfect, loves the track/distance…great gamble.

12 Shadizi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m. He was a sneaky good return fresh over 1200m two weeks ago at Randwick when back in the run and held up at times but was good late when clear behind Husk. If the breaks go his way, fitter and up in trip, he’ll run a beauty.

7 Warnie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here for Ciaron Maher after racing over this track/distance three weeks ago. He got off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there behind Cafe Millennium. His best is good enough but can be frustrating. I’d include him in exotics.

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 7 Interpretation
