4/1/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Murray Bridge

Nine races have been set down for Murray Bridge on Saturday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Landed with 3 Divine Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but not really a race I want to get involved in. She ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where she again tried to pinch a race by making a mid race move but it didn’t work and she tired to be beaten several lengths by the very much in form Seeking Stardom. Not a deep race this and in well after the claim, happy to be in her corner.

4 San Lucido (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after an all the way win last Saturday at Morphettville. He led throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and get the job done. Gets right down in the weights after the claim and with front end control, takes running down.

2 Russian Dancer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about at peak fitness. He ran over 1400m here two weeks back where he got a fair way out of his ground and was never really a factor behind Angelic Appeal. Hard fit now and up to a more suitable trip, he can run a much improved race.

4 Dobbinair (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Team Cahill trained gelding that was a very impressive first up winner over 1000m here when giving them a start and a beating, launching late to finish best and win. Can only see improvement/upside with him and up in trip, he’ll be strong late and confident he measures up.

1 Dyer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the quick back up after a Boxing Day win, leading throughout at Morphettville when getting front end control and he was much too good. He’s found winning form now and back on the home track, he takes running down.

6 Teardrop Rotation (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth to Dyer in the race mentioned above. He got back in a slowly run race and given the shape of the contest, he couldn’t get involved but was still sound enough in defeat. More genuine tempo here, he can take this out.

5 Novela (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the debut run, which came at Morphettville when on speed and he tried his guts out but couldn’t quite see it through when second to Stolen, beaten a length. Better for that under the belt and with a good racing style, rates highly.

11 Layin Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Well bred mare for Phillip Stokes that resumes, having not raced since July 26 at Geelong when back off the speed and failed to get involved in a pretty plain effort. She was with Ciaron Maher. Now with Stokes and her trial work to get ready has been strong.

6 Top of The Ridge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong in two career outings and is one of the key threats. He did more than enough on debut at Gawler before going here when on speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job. Maps nicely and perhaps with a more patient steer, he can win.

9 Tosen Water (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win and she gets her chance here. She ran over this trip at Gawler three weeks ago where I thought she wasn’t given the best of steers, ridden negatively, and only got warm late behind Wiggum. That form clearly reads well for this. Just needs a half positive ride.

1 Metro Legend (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Bain/Taylor trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since July 20 at Morphettville Parks when leading and failed to fire on the bog track behind Exalted Dame. Given a good break and has trialled up nicely for the return.

2 Manhattan Times (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing on Ballarat Cup Day. He got a fair way out of his ground and did make up some headway but was never really threatening behind The Open, who won again since, so the form reads well and he strikes a winnable race.

4 Lomax (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me in what looks a two horse race. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and clocked good late splits in defeat behind Devil’s Dexter. If he’s within range, he has the finale to launch late.

3 Rabtat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good record on his home track and has found positive form. He ran second in the race mentioned above won by Devil’s Dexter. He got into a good spot off the speed and presented to win but just lacked change up speed to go with them late in the piece. Knocking on the door and strikes a winnable race.

5 Astrodean (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a last start winner and commands respect against these. He won at Gawler three weeks back when just off the speed before being presented clear air and finished best to win narrowly but impressively. He can go on with it against these.

5 Dual Fuel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found positive form…can she go on with it? She ran last Saturday over 2500m at Morphettville where she got back in the run but tracked up with purpose and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when third to the in form Arugamama. Good record at Murray Bridge, back in trip no issue…rates highly.

9 Gotta Go Guru (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is short enough but is a total forgive from last time. She ran behind Divine Fire three weeks back at Gawler when wide no cover for a fair chunk of the race and couldn’t get involved but a total forgive after the run. Better sit in transit this time, she is hard to beat.

4 Magnetic Edge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a win over this trip at Gawler where he got better as the race went on and was impressive in winning, albeit the track pattern was in his corner. Does have a good record at the track and this isn’t a deep contest.

3 El Capony (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned really well. He resumed three weeks ago at Gawler where he had a suck run in transit but was held up at times before eventually getting clear air and finished off strongly when third to The Stalker. Better for the run under the belt, he rates highly.

2 Pure Bliss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been freshened up, having not raced since Dec 7 at Morphettville Parks when third to Kova after sitting on speed. Tick over trial was good and despite 1100m being the query, she rates highly.

9 Lake Agawam (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous at odds. She ran over 1050m at Oakbank last time out where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, I did like the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Redwinelover. Up in trip, bigger track, a win wouldn’t shock at all.

5 Bangerang Redback (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will do me in the get out. Garret Lynch trained gelding that ran over this trip at Bordertown last time out. He was wide no cover throughout but credit to him, he stayed on and was quite good in defeat when third to Salsbury Hill. If he can get a better run in transit, he’ll take beating against these.

11 Stolen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has home track advantage and commands respect. Didn’t do much on debut at Morphettville before having a mini break and going to the Parks track where she was in a dream spot near the speed before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Tricky draw, but upside/progression and stable is flying.

6 Billie Bronx (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with her best. She resumed two weeks back over 1200m here where she had a suck run in transit and tried hard but condition just gave way late in the piece. Fitter and up in trip, she’s a definite improver.

2 Braveman’sgame (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Michael Hickmott trained gelding that is three weeks between runs since racing at Gawler when wide no cover on speed, which was suicide given the up/in pattern so forgive and forget the run behind The Stalker. Better run in transit here, home track advantage, he takes beating.

11 Shisuta Bo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) rates highly. Market took a set against her last start at Morphettville Parks but she landed on speed, comfortably, and was never getting beat from a fair way out. Tricky draw, but will slide forward again and take beating.

8 Bolted In (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Matty Seyers trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since June 26 at Gawler when finding heavy ground and he struggled to pick his feet up late in the piece behind Reservoir Dog. He seems better suited over the shorter trips and his trial work has been strong.

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 5 Bangerang Redback
