Race 1. (12:02) Sportsbet Same Race Multi (Bm64) 1100m
1 Harmonic Dancer (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the one to beat. Phillip Stokes trained son of Pariah that is on debut off the back of two trials this time in, winning them both and each time he has won comfortably, by spaces, and ran time. If he runs up to the trials, he wins.
3 Golden Horizon (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran second to Si Senora on debut last Wednesday at Balaklava when holding the inside/lead and he gave a very strong kick under Ben Price but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Si Senora. Good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.
8 Tiptop Tori (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Andrew Gluyas, having not raced since her debut on Boxing Day when on the Parks track, got back and was okay late without threatening behind La Roux. Trialled very well last week and should be strong late.
Race 2. (12:37) Sportsbet Fast Form Hcp (C2) 1200m
7 The Sprinkler (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a three year old on the up for Team Jolly and I think in an open race he is the way to go. He won his maiden last start at Murray Bridge, getting the right run in transit behind the speed and knuckled down strongly late to win. Bit of depth to this, but confident he measures up.
5 Royal Majesty (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Chris Bieg, she now finds herself with Michael Hickmott. She showed good talent when under the care of Bieg, definite city class ability, and she looks to have trialled well for the return, so watch betting.
10 Extra Hot (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over this trip two weeks back on the Parks track. She got off speed and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up headway and wasn’t too bad in defeat I thought. Fitter, bigger track, she’s in the mix.
Race 3. (13:12) Fleurieu Milk Company (Bm76) 2042m
4 Beach Pad (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the one for me. Bain/Taylor trained gelding that ran over this track/distance four weeks ago when back last in the run and was quite keen before angling wider, trying to make a sustained run, and tried hard, but was no match late for Party Crasher. No horse of that quality here, he’s in the mix.
1 Test The Law (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over the mile here in the Cummings. He got too far back in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did find the line well enough in defeat behind Regal Azmon. Up in trip and back miles in grade/depth, he appeals.
5 Magnetic Edge (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1800m last Saturday at Murray Bridge. He got a mile out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he did find the line really well in defeat. Like him up in trip, knockout hope.
Race 4. (13:47) Sportsbet (Bm66) 1533m
7 Zippity Doodah (Bet Now: $SP.00) is hard to beat for Darryl Carrison after a maiden win at Strathalbyn. He got into a good spot off the speed before peeling wider, making a sustained run and he got better as the race went on to win well. Like him up in trip and is a horse heading in the right direction.
1 Big Brute (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1250m two weeks back at Morphettville Parks when on speed throughout and he did try hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when nabbed late by Merchant Boss. I think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be more effective.
10 Dream Baby (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes to town for David Jolly after a maiden win at Strathalbyn over the mile where she looked a good thing on paper and despite a few nervous moments in the run, class kicked in late and she was able to fend them off to win. Good racing style and back slightly in trip is fine.
Race 5. (14:22) Adelaide Galvanising Industries Hcp (64) 1100m
6 Palm Of Jumeirah (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a filly with talent for Phillip Stokes. She hasn’t raced since April 19 at Oakbank when off speed and loomed to win but couldn’t quite get there when second to Up The Den. Good track/distance record and she does seem to race best with fresh legs.
5 Nurys (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1100m after racing over 1250m on the Parks track a fortnight back. She got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up ground and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Fast run 1100m, can see her sitting back and launching late.
3 Cararada (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an intersting runner. John Hyam trained mare that comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since April 12 over the mile here when off speed and was never really a factor behind the well performed Spirit Of Camelot. Good track/distance record, she’s in the mix.
Race 6. (14:57) Michael Ferraro 70Th Birthday (Bm76) 1050m
3 Sparring (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one of the better each way gambles on the card. Ron Stubbs trained gelding that comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since May 3 at Caulfield when off speed and failed to get involved behind Oak Hill. He’ll lob in a beaut spot from the gate and be effective late with his best.
11 Deepfloat Diva (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and should take beating here. He ran over this trip on the Parks track two weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing with purpose behind a nice horse, Sir Now. Good record on the course proper and is knocking on the door.
8 Winning Revolution (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in the mix. He ran fourth in the Sir Now race from two weeks back at Morphettville Parks. He was a real eye catcher, getting a mile out of his ground but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat. If he can settle, he’s dangerous.
Race 7. (15:32) Thomas Farms (Rs1ly) 1200m
2 Validated (Bet Now: $SP.00) should take beating here. He ran over 1000m two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was quite good in defeat. Better set up here, he’ll be hard to hold out if within range.
8 Delightful Shecky (Bet Now: $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over this trip on the Parks track behind Let’s Get Down. He got a suck run in transit behind the speed but was never really a factor when down the track. He was first up there and he’s much better on the course proper so he gets another look.
9 Declared (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got into a decent spot near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Metrical. The depth here isn’t as deep, he can be an improver.
Race 8. (16:12) Cystic Fibrosis South Australia Hcp (64) 1100m
1 Clarence (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Sir Prancealot that resumes for Clarken/O’Shea. He is first up, with his last run coming on March 10 over 1200m here when down the track behind Dual Pressure, perhaps an end of prep run. He does race best fresh and has trialled well for the return.
5 Up The Den (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one of the hardest to beat despite coming here with fresh legs, having not raced since April 19 at Oakbank when an all the way winner. Credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. The break between runs I find interesting but he does strike a winnable race.
2 Talkin Italian (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes to town as a last start wnner, that win coming at Oakbank where he gave them a start and a beating in a very impressive performance. If he can use the inside gate to advantage, he’s dangerous.
Race 9. (16:50) Grand Syndicates (Bm64) 1600m
5 Starts Now (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to have returned well and is one of the hardest to beat after a first up second two weeks ago on the Parks track where he chased with purpose but had no answers late for Synchro. Fitter, up in trip, depth not as deep, like him here.
15 Burning Bright (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door for Andrew Gluyas. She ran over 1550m on the Parks track a fortnight back when attempting to lead throughout and gave a strong kick from the front but was nabbed late by Rubin. I think with a bunny to chase, she’ll be more effective.
18 Rubini (Bet Now: $SP.00) surprised most with a win a fortnight back over 1550m on the Parks track. He gave them a start and a beating, knuckling down with purpose late to win and win well. He is a hard horse to catch but he has found winning form and should be around the mark.
