Ten races have been set down for Rosehill on Saturday for Southern Cross Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

18 Regal Problem (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice filly on the up for Lyle Chandler. She resumed two weeks ago in the Highway, and first up at 1400m on a bog, it was an ask, but I thought she ran really well in defeat behind Considered, who could well be a top seed for Matty Dunn for the Country Championships. Better set up here, she appeals.

8 Warrior For Peace (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1500m after racing over 1400m here a fortnight back, his first run since Sep 27. He sat near the speed and did try hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Better with that run under the belt, he is a key chance.

10 Pensativa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was big odds when racing two weeks back in the Highway. She got off speed and just didn’t seem 100% happy in the conditions behind Considered. Firmer deck, hard, she is good enough to threaten.

2 Alabama State (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well but is finding it hard to win. He ran fourth to Alabama Fox a few weeks back at Randwick. He got into a reasonable spot in transit and did try hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth. That form clearly reads well for this.

12 Hazel Jean (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat for Richard Litt after racing in the Midway two weeks ago over 1200m. She got back off speed and while she was never threatening, she kept chasing and was pretty good late in the piece without threatening behind Mother Goose. If within range, she has the finale to be dangerous.

10 Justela (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1350m after racing last Saturday over the mile at Randwick. She got into a decent spot in transit just off speed but whacked late and was never really a threat. Back to 1350m, kind map, not penning her.

1 Incognito (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Michael Freedman trained colt that resumes, having not raced since his Breeders Plate debut triumph, sitting off speed before being clicked up and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Trialled well, has the runs on the board, takes beating.

7 Confederation (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a well bred colt that debuts for Coolmore and Chris Waller. He has had two trials to get ready for start one, the latest seeing him run third to Plagiarism, working to the line well enough after being ridden out. Definite yard and market watch.

4 Eviction Notice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a GaiBott trained colt that was a notable drifter in betting when debuting in the Breeders Plate. He landed on speed and didn’t fire, being quite plain late. Been given the break and his trial work has been quite good. Watch betting.

9 Miss Scandal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice filly that debuts for Chris Waller off a couple of trials, the latest being at Rosehill last week when third but seemed to move very well. Keen to see how she goes at start one in what looks a winnable race.

1 Pearl Of Dubai (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Peter Snowden trained filly that resumes. She was runner up in the Kirkham on debut at Randwick, driving hard late after sitting wide but just missed. Looks to have trialled well for the return and has a kind map in her corner.

3 Miss Chanel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was pretty good on debut two weeks back here. She sat on speed throughout and tried hard but on the bog, she couldn’t quite pick her feet up late in the piece. Firmer deck, good racing style, had trialled prior, not penning her against these.

Landed with 2 Yoshinobu (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He resumed three weeks ago at the Gold Coast where he got too far out of his ground in a race dominated on speed but did like the way he closed off behind Now Is The Hour. Maps to settle much closer, will be effective late, takes beating.

10 Sovereign Hill (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a clear threat for GaiBott. He resumed with a bang two weeks ago at Canterbury, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win quite impressively. Good racing style, fitter, he appeals.

8 Art Volant (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate firmer footing and is dangerous. She ran two weeks back in the Midway here where she got off speed and just didn’t seem happy in the going behind Mother Goose. Hard fit, firmer deck, rising in trip, she’s dangerous.

7 Cross Tasman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for O’Shea/Charlton and takes a power of beating after a track/distance win two weeks ago where he got better as the race went on, proving quite dominant in the run to the line. Reminds me of stablemate Yorkshire. Winner, line finder and confident he can go through the grades.

8 Pippie Beach (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying I think. Chris Waller trained mare that ran two weeks back behind Cross Tasman. She got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never threatening, she did close off pretty well. Better suited here, she’s hard to beat.

3 Just Party (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks suited back up in trip after coming back to 1300m two weeks ago here. For those who have been with him, they’ve had enough. But, 1300m just isn’t his go. Suited back up in trip, will love firmer footing…I think he’s a key chance.

3 Eye Of The Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Team Archibald. He ran second two weeks ago here, trying hard from off speed but bumped into a pretty good one I think in the shape of Bev’s Nine. Hard to knock the way he’s racing and is hard to beat against these.

2 Glint Of Silver (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks like he is prepped up to run really well for David Pfieffer. He resumes, having not raced since Sep 27 when down the track here behind Sir Artie. 1200m is on the short side for him but he has trialled up well, good racing style and can sprint well fresh.

7 Mogo Magic… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gee he was enormous in defeat at Wyong a few weeks back. Did early work to land in front and he tried his guts out but the end of 1200m just found him out when a close up third to No Drama. If that hasn’t busted him, he’s hard to beat.

Do like 2 The Instructor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) here. Just did too much work last start in the MM Snippets at the Gold Coast and was entitled to drop right away but only got the staggers very late. Think he’ll get a much better run on speed this time around and hard fit, appeals big time.

6 Enriched (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Michael Freedman trained four year old that resumes, having not raced since the Autumn when taking out the Arrowfield Sprint in a driving go. Looked to trial up very well recently at Randwick and strikes a winnable Stakes race.

4 Willaidow (Bet Now:  $SP.00) loves the track/distance and loves to sit on speed. He resumes, having not raced since Nov 8 when down the track in the Ladies Day Cup at Hawkesbury behind Harlem Queen after doing too much work on speed. Looks to have trialled well, watch betting.

2 Cormac T (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is very dangerous here I feel. He resumed over 1500m here two weeks ago where he found the track too wet, the trip too short, but overall, was far from disgraced in defeat behind Cross Tasman. Better set up here, good upside, I think he’s worthy of an each way ticket.

9 Placid Pearl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a strong winner two back at Randwick before going here where she got into a decent spot in transit but when asked for the effort, the wheels were spinning and she hated the going. Dangerous here back on top of the ground.

4 Casino Bear (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 2000m at Randwick. He was near the speed throughout and battled away really well in defeat behind Furious. He has good upside to come, he’s dangerous at odds.

3 Eagle Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Chris Waller trained mare that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since Sep 20 over 1400m at Caulfield when placing behind Shadhavar, driving hard from off speed and clocking good late splits in defeat. Looks to have jumped out well, watch betting.

6 Sequista (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been up a little while for Ryan/Alexiou and is one of the hardest to beat. Loved the way she knuckled down to win at Wyong a few weeks back, driving hard late out wide and nabbed La Roja on the peg. Hard to knock the way she’s racing and commands respect.

5 Shelstein (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable. Team Archibald trained gelding that ran behind Sequista three weeks back at Wyong and was just fair, not really handling the tight track. Like him onto the bigger track, he’s dangerous at a price.
