6 Tycoon Harry (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. Three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He landed on speed and was keen in the run. I reckon that burning of petrol tickets beat him in the end, nabbed late by Amaroo Star. If he finds the front, or harnesses his energy better, he takes beating.

5 Amaroo Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying this time in. She won three weeks ago here, settling just off speed before angling into clear air and knuckled down with purpose late. Only has to hold her form and she’ll take a power of beating.

7 Crippalenko (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a big improver at odds. Total forgive last start in the Mt Barker Sprint when wide no cover on speed and the hard run just told. Like him back to 1000m and maps much better this time around. Definite knockout hope at odds.

1 Twisted Steel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1100m after resuming over 1000m two weeks ago here. He took on the older horses and got into a decent spot in transit but first up, condition just gave way late when fourth to Santanova. Fitter, back to his own age, he clearly rates highly.

2 Sound Of Speed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini freshen up since a win here on New Years Day, getting a suck run in transit before getting clear air and drove hard late to score. That was 1000m. If he can stretch it to 1100m, he’s dangerous.

7 The Nun (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with her best. She ran over 1200m here on Jan 14 when off speed and was good late from off speed when third. Fast run 1100m, she’ll need luck but is dangerous if she gets it.

1 Daryte (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to run up to her debut win two weeks ago and she makes a mess of these, like she did at start one. Beaten for early speed but was able to track up nearer the inside before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Extra 100m is no issue, better for the run…I think good luck beating her.

7 Farnova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1100m after debuting over 1000m here a fortnight back. She attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent sight from the front but just had no answers late for Daryte. Good racing style, she’ll give cheek I am sure.

6 Eddietemple (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Written By that debuts for Simon Miller. He looks to have trialled up well for start one, the latest trial seeing him win at Belmont on Dec 8 over 1000m. Break between that trial and here is a slight query but maps ideally and looks to have talent.

3 Fancy Red (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the winner. She resumed two weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and held up at times but got clear and was there to win but just found one better in the hard fit Sonoftheboss. Good upside to come, she looks the winner.

2 Supernatural (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was luckless behind Sonoftheboss. She got back off speed and was held up at times, proving to be somewhat of an ugly watch. Flying this mare and can certainly win if the breaks go her way.

6 Horcrux (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumes for Simon Miller and is dangerous. He resumes, his last run coming several months back down the straight at Pinjarra. Fresh at 1200m signals clear intent and a recent trial win was sharp.

8 Superfluous (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. He ran over 1300m just over two weeks ago at Pinjarra. He got a fair way out of his ground and was good late. Like him up in trip and if he can settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

3 Rally The Troops (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 1400m here. He was building and was going to be around the mark but just got held up at the wrong time and ran out of room late. If the breaks go his way, he can win.

5 Gambler’s Gold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1400m here three weeks back when wide no cover for the trip and tired to finish down the track behind Stylish Lord. Not sure he is good enough to win but can run first four.

2 Alaskan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when just off the speed, keen and lacked a finale, just whacking in the run to the line. His best is clearly good enough. Just needs to relax better in the run.

1 Defending (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at the mile here when wide throughout but battled away really well in defeat behind Great Fortune. Back to 1500m, I say he’s hard to beat if he’s got petrol left in the tank.

5 Civvy Street (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1500m after resuming over 1200m two weeks back where he got off speed and was okay late without threatening behind Sonoftheboss. Much better suited here, good upside, he’s a knockout hope.

5 Famous Dain (Bet Now:  $SP.00) picks himself I feel. Loved the way he let down to win last Saturday here, driving hard late from off speed to score. Hard fit, in form, Pike takes over, rates highly.

7 Battle Commander (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m two weeks ago where he tried hard from on speed but felt the pinch late. Like him back in trip and with front end control, is hard to get past.

1 Bruce Almighty (Bet Now:  $SP.00) lands on speed and despite being hit and miss, he’s dangerous. He ran fifth to Silver Eye two weeks back. He landed in a decent spot on speed and I thought was there to threaten but just whacked in the run to the line. If he brings his best, a win wouldn’t totally shock.

7 Dennis Choux (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a good each way gamble I feel. He ran over 1500m here two weeks ago when wide no cover for the trip and the hard run just told late. Maps much better this time around and the extra 100m should be fine.

6 Redback Flyer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is six weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He landed in a decent spot in transit and I thought was there to win but he just whacked late. His best is good eniugh and overall, this is a winnable race.

4 Ginger Green (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, his last run coming over 2100m at Geraldton. He got back off speed and was okay late without threatening behind Sowar. Back to the mile I find interesting, his best is more than good enough.

9 Too Darn Stormy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Dan Morton trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since June 7 at Pinjarra when placing over 1300m behind Playin’it Sweet. Given a good break and although 1100m looks on the short side, he’ll be quite strong late and with class, keen on his prospects.

6 Lucky I Am (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat. Three weeks between runs since racing over 1200m here when on speed throughout and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when second. Looks the leader and should take running down.

10 Rise To Glory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Santanova race from two weeks back. He got to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, I did like the way he closed off. If within range, he has the finale to take this out.

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 7 Dennis Choux
