Eight races have been set down for Belmont on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

3 Who’s Bent (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m for Mitch Pateman after racing over 1200m at the midweeks here on Aug 6 when off speed and worked home with purpose when fourth, beaten under a length. Fast run 1000m, he’ll get off speed and launch late.

6 Desert Life (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town for Michael Lane after a win over this trip down the straight last Wednesday at Pinjarra where she found the best part of the track and finished best to score in good style. Tricky draw, but off a win, she commands respect.

5 Slip The Jab (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Luke Fernie, having not raced since July 19 at Bunbury when first up. He got into a decent spot near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late. Break between runs, watch betting and see what it does.

4 Ghost Who Walks (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found positive form and he can go on with it for Neville Parnham. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago and closed with real purpose in a much improved effort behind the in form Madhi Girl. This race, as a whole, isn’t overly strong, so I say he’s one of the hardest to beat.

3 Ginnivan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Jim Taylor trained gelding that resumes. He had a two run Autumn prep and didn’t fire each time so the stable tipped him straight out. Given the break, returned, and has trialled really well for the return so watch betting.

1 Gemma’s Son (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs after racing in the Belmont Newmarket over 1200m where he ran a credible race but was never really threatening behind Phanta, who backed it up last Saturday, so the form reads really well and back to 1000m, back miles in grade/depth, he is dangerous.

6 Niccimota (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it. That win came last Wednesday down the straight at Pinjarea when leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in, winning impressively. Good racing style, in form, she appeals.

2 Go Go Grommet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at this track/distance. He got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job when second to Ginger Morpheus. Tricky draw to overcome but is one of the leading contenders given how he’s racing.

1 Bonnie Lad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Gangemi trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since March 22 at ascot when down the track behind Sinful Living. Looks to have trialled well for the return so watch betting.

5 Arcadia Knight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to win again. Three weeks between runs since a win over this trip at Pinjarra, giving them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. Hard to knock the way he’s racing and strikes a winnable race.

1 Lord Gannicus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Arcadia Knight race from three weeks back at Pinjarra. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a strong kick from the front but just felt the pinch late in the piece, nabbed on the peg. Good racing style, he’ll give cheek.

2 Investmentstrategy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Sensessional race from two weeks back here. He lobbed into a decent spot near the speed and I thought was there to threaten but he just whacked to the line. His best is good enough to be dangerous.

Good test here for 2 Repeater (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but hard to knock the way he’s racing, winning 3/3 this time in. Latest win came a few weeks ago at Pinjarra, leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found. Keen to see how he goes.

5 Diamond Dancer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Simon Miller and is one of the hardest to beat. Loved the way she put them way to win a fortnight back over 1300m here, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance. Hard to beat once again.

6 Famous Jurney (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Diamond Dancer race from two weeks back. He had a suck run in transit and was there to threaten I thought but perhaps 1300m second up was a bridge too far. Like him back to 1200m and hard fit now, he’s an improver at odds.

10 Scully (Bet Now:  $SP.00) deserves another chance for mine…but it is just about last chance territory. First run for Neville Parnham came over 1000m here two weeks ago. He got back off the speed and was held up at times but was good late in the piece when fourth to Immortal Bliss. Fitter and up in trip, he appeals.

5 Deferred (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1200m after resuming over 1000m here a fortnight back where he just found them a bit sharp and was never really a winning threat. I think with that run under the belt and up in trip, he is a definite improver.

3 Kelvinator (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Fred Kersley since racing over 1400m at Pinjarra when on speed and he tried hard but just felt the pinch behind Little Silver. Fresh legs and back to 1200m, he will run a bold race I am sure.

6 Long Genes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Mitch Pateman trained galloper that is a few weeks between runs after racing over 2200m at Pinjarra when on speed and he tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite get there snd get the job done. Hard fit, racing well, he’ll do me.

4 Alaskan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second to Admired a fortnight back here over 2200m. He lobbed on speed and for the most part, he was hailed as the winner but didn’t have the finale of Admired. He is very one paced so if he makes it a proper 2100m contest, he’ll be dangerous.

2 Admired (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a surprise winner here two weeks back. $151 SP, he gave them a start and a beating, finishing best to cause a major upset. Can he repeat the dose? I am saying no, but he can run top four at a decent price.

6 Essentric Nature (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1200m several weeks ago where he was a real eye catcher, closing off well from off speed. Fitter and up in trip, in well after the claim, he’ll take beating against these.

13 With Discretion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Toronado that resumes for Michael Grantham. This guy hasn’t raced since the JC Roberts when just jig quite seeing out the 1800m and was never really a factor. Fresh at 1400m I like and he has trialled up really well for the return.

11 Ton Of Grunt (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over the mile two weeks back where he was near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line in defeat. If he’s within range, he has the finale to take this out.

LONG SHOT: Race Two Number 4 Ghost Who Walks
