4 Different Strokes (Bet Now: $1.40) is short but for a good reason. He looks to have a fair bit on what looks an average lot. Ran in a 1300m maiden at Hawkesbury last time out when on speed and when J Mac gave him a squeeze, he looked home, but was nabbed late. Hard fit, on the home track, J Mac sticks…he should win.

Danger

5 Stay Wealthy (Bet Now: $8.50) is a son of Redoute’s Choice for Gary Moore that is on debut. He has had four trials this prep to get ready for start one, so has certainly had a strong enough grounding to run well fresh, and the stable in recent weeks are firing, so if the fav is off his game, this is the pony that likely wins.

Long Shot

3 Beholder (Bet Now: $16.00) can be an improver on firmer footing. Ryan/Alexiou trained gelding that hasn’t exactly set the world on fire in a couple of runs to date, but they have come on genuine wet ground. This is the first time he’ll get a firm deck, and did trial well prior to the debut. I think him as a place bet is the way I’d likely play this race.

Race 2. (13:25) Winning Commercial Mdn Hcp 1200m

I’m with 11 Ruinart (Bet Now: $3.10) for John O’Shea. This filly resumes, having not raced since her debut at Canterbury back in January when down the track behind Hi Hi Hi in what has turned out to be a hot maiden, with five winners coming from it. Trialled up really well, both times with J Mac riding, and he sticks for the return.

Danger

1 Invincible Vision (Bet Now: $4.00) is a well bred five year old for the WaterBott camp on debut. Start one as a five year old tells me that he’s clearly had his issues but is showing something very positive at home, and that has been reflected in a couple of strong trial efforts, so he’s ready to go and is hard to beat.

Long Shot

3 Rivaldo (Bet Now: $21.00) is a Pride Of Dubai gelding debuting for Matty Dunn. He’s had three trials to get ready for start one and has steadily got better each time he has stepped out, with the Blinkers seemingly switching him right on. Does no work from the gate and is a first four threat.

Race 3. (14:05) Central Coast Coolrooms (bm64) 1300m

7 Eleusa (Bet Now: $4.20) on top. James Cummings trained mare that resumes, having not raced since April 17 at Kembla when back and making up okay ground behind Steely, who has since gone on to be a Saturday metro winner, and the form around her overall from last prep, gee it reads well, and two trials to get ready suggest she’s forward enough to run well fresh.

Danger

4 Bojack (Bet Now: $4.40) will put himself on speed and prove hard to run down for the WaterBott team. Resumed over 1200m at Gosford when on speed and tried hard, but couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Windsweep. Tick over trial was a nice piece of work and has the right racing pattern for this track.

Long Shot

1 Van Gogh (Bet Now: $12.00) is better suited over further but I think he can run well fresh. Son of Vancouver for the WaterBott stable that resumes, having not raced since a solid fifth on the Kenso track over 1800m back in March. Has looked strong in a couple of trials and should get a cheap run from the gate. Knockout chance.

Race 4. (14:40) Bishop Collins (bm64) 1600m

Going the way of 1 Nishikori (Bet Now: $3.30) for Matty Dunn. This guy comes to the Sydney stable of Dunn after doing his racing up north. Won the maiden impressively two back at Ballina before going to Eagle Farm when attempting to lead throughout and gave a solid kick but got the staggers late when third to Samurai. 1600m is a little query but gate one and J Mac on helps.

Danger

Fitter and up in trip are two big ticks for 2 Socrates (Bet Now: $6.00). John O’Shea trained gelding that resumed at Hawkesbury over 1300m where he got a fair way back in the run but loved the way he closed off his race late when fourth to Sunborn. Not sure Wyong is his track but Bowman sticks and if he’s within range 400m out, he can win.

Long Shot

7 Happy Candy (Bet Now: $15.00) is one I can include for wider exotics. Smart Missile mare that drops back to Provincial grade after racing on the Kenso track last time out when just behind the speed and battled on okay despite having every chance behind Off Shaw. Not sure she wins, but a first four contender.

Race 5. (15:20) Hunter Petroleum Products (c1) 1100m

Very strong Class 1 this. I’ll go with 4 Deepour (Bet Now: $6.00), resuming for Team Freedman. Was hot on him last prep off the back of a slashing debut win at Newcastle. He then went to town and did nothing behind Private Eye and the prep sort of lost its way after that. Given a good break, has trialled very well leading in and I think ridden cold, he can finish over the top.

Danger

1 Torun (Bet Now: $4.50) is a Joe Pride trained four year old that resumes. He had a two run prep in the Autumn, finishing down the track first up at Warwick Farm behind Lost And Running before a game third on wet ground at Goulburn. Liked a recent trial and should land in a plum spot from the draw.

Long Shot

6 Jaytees (Bet Now: $8.50) doesn’t have the class of some of these, but how often do we see these horses that take forever to win a race, then win a couple on the bounce? He bolted up fresh at Gunnedah and ran sharp time in doing so. Stable finds Bowman to steer and is a knockout hope if the track is dynamite on speed.

Race 6. (15:55) Mona Lisa Stakes 1350m

Back Me

12 More Prophets (Bet Now: $3.80) rises in grade, but she did show promise at blacktype level during the Autumn so the step up should be okay for her. Just needed the run fresh at Randwick before racing there again two weeks back and she was dominant in winning, albeit in 78 grade, so has to step up here, but think she can and run well.

Danger

3 Great News (Bet Now: $3.00) is trained on the track so this looks an obvious target race for her. Resumed in the Toy Show at Randwick and she was one of the runs of the meeting, sitting four wide throughout yet still had the hide to show change up speed, only to be nutted late by Fituese. If that hasn’t busted her, she’ll take a power of beating here.

Long Shot

5 Starla (Bet Now: $10.00) is flying for Chris Waller. The key to her has been finding dry ground and once she has found that, she has been winning, her latest win coming a few weeks ago at Randwick when letting down with real purpose. If she can handle the rise to this grade, she’s hard to beat.

Race 7. (16:35) Wyong Gold Cup 2100m

Having a throw at the stumps via 7 Mohican Heights (Bet Now: $26.00). He resumed over 1400m at Kembla Grange where he was building the revs nicely between the 800m-400m, then was eased down late, with the rider telling Stewards he was hit over the eye. 2000m+ record is quite strong, he’ll sit off a good speed and be strong late.

Danger

4 Laure Me In (Bet Now: $5.50) is a beauty. He can be an enigma at times, but gee he’s honest. Loved the way he knuckled down to win the Premiers Cup Prelude at Kembla a few weeks ago, his first run in around a month, so you’d like to think there is room for improvement and is a key threat here.

Long Shot

13 La Grisa (Bet Now: $34.00) is one that is massive odds here that I could speck. It was more or less a prep run for her at Randwick last time behind Always Sure, her first run since a down the track effort at Eagle Farm during the Winter Carnival. Does no work from the gate and I think her best is capable of running a very cheeky race at a price.

Race 8. (17:10) The Doylo Springtime (bm68) 1100m

Back Me

4 Pearl Roan (Bet Now: $2.45) for me in the get out. Steve Hodge trained mare that was ridden positively last start at Newcastle, going forward to lead, and from there, she didn’t give her rivals a look in, bolting up and winning impressively. Now gets Tim Clark steering, I dare say she leads again and will take a power of beating.

Danger

2 The Drake (Bet Now: $4.40) is a very solid open class country sprinter for Jenny Graham that is a leading chance here. Just found the 1250m a bit far last time out at Newcastle but stuck to the task and was good in defeat in running third. Fast run 1100m should see him get every chance.

Long Shot

13 Mosht Up (Bet Now: $41.00) is big odds here I feel. There was plenty of merit to her last start performance at Gosford when wide no cover and she was entitled to drop away, but she kept finding under pressure and just couldn’t quite get there when third to Pleading. Good track/distance record and $41+ for her is a bit silly.
