29/8/2020 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm

Nine races will be run and won at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out 5.5 metres for the entire circuit.

6 Le Palmier (Bet Now: $2.30) is a little query at a strong 1200m, but has improvement to come and the resumption was good, so 1000m second up I like. Resumed over the 1110m at Doomben three weeks back when just off the speed and looked the winner when Byrne pushed the button, but was run down late by Aheadofhistime. With a soft trip in transit, he’ll take some beating.

3 Mittere (Bet Now: $3.70). Ran over 800m at Ipswich last Wednesday and really, if you were on him, apologies for bringing it back up. Run off his legs early but picked up strongly in the straight, only to run out of room the last 75m when wanting to burst through. He can sit near the speed and prove hard to beat.

Up to 1000m on a bigger track should be idea for 5 Hidden Eyes (Bet Now: $12.00). Ran over 800m at Ipswich last Wednesday and really, if you were on him, apologies for bringing it back up. Run off his legs early but picked up strongly in the straight, only to run out of room the last 75m when wanting to burst through. He can sit near the speed and prove hard to beat.

5 Steelz Time (Bet Now: $9.50) is an Adrian Coome trained galloper from Rockhampton that has run well in town before and I think he finds a really winnable Saturday race here. Big win from the back over the mile at Townsville last time out, producing really good late splits from near last in the run to score. Has run well at metro level previously and loves firm ground.

3 One For Betty (Bet Now: $2.10) is a daughter of All Too Hard for the David Vandyke camp that is 2/2 this time in. Impressive winner here first up before racing on her home track at the Sunny Coast where she really attacked the line like a nice horse in winning again. Racing as if 1600m will suit and third up, should be close to peak fitness.

4 Flying Machine (Bet Now: $9.00) is on the seven day back up for Selina Leef after racing over 1350m at Doomben last Saturday. Got back to near last in the run but loved the way she found the line late when beaten narrowly by Run For Glory. Was $101 that afternoon and is around $10 for this race, so copping a severely lower price, but the run was a beauty.

Hard to get away from the Michael Nolan trained filly 9 Kisukano (Bet Now: $1.45). Really impressive winner at this track/distance two weeks ago, showing a good turn of foot from the front when asked by Patis and drew clear to show her class. Not sure this race is that much harder and only has to hold her form to be winning again.

2 Acrobatic (Bet Now: $5.50) looks a distant second pick. Kelly Schweida trained three year old that ran in the boys 1200m 3YO race two weeks back and he was impressive in winning after sitting wide no cover for the trip and drawing clear late. If Kisukano is off her game, this is the pony that likely wins, but a lot has to go wrong for Kisukano to be off her game.

6 Simply Fly (Bet Now: $31.00) is a knockout chance against these. He comes through the Acrobatic race where he was off the bit early, but he picked up and was building really good momentum until running out of room late. Should have finished closer and confirmed that he can measure up to this kind of race. Definite winning chance.

13 Motomiss (Bet Now: $4.20) is suited up to 1200m for Lindsay Hatch. This mare is three weeks between runs, where she last raced over 1110m at Doomben where she got back and found the line okay, but was never really a threat behind Say Haya. To a fast run 1200m I do like, hard fit and in form. Leading contender for sure against this lot.

1 All Important (Bet Now: $4.50) has a good second up record and has the Tony Gollan polish so he gets respect. Resumed at Doomben three weeks back on speed and he tried hard, but condition just gave out late when fourth to Jardin Rouge. Not quite as effective at Eagle Farm compared to Doomben but has the strong second up stats.

3 No Doubt Acracker (Bet Now: $9.50) is a Stuart Kendrick trained gelding that had late specking when resuming at the Gold Coast two weeks ago and gee he finished his race off with purpose, getting right over the top of his rivals for a strong return. This isn’t the strongest Saturday race going around and he’s got upside to come.

3 Skate To Paris (Bet Now: $4.40) is flying for Chris Munce and the way she’s going, back to 1400m should be fine. Won over the mile here a fortnight back and she was dominant, albeit Larry Cassidy did put her into a lovely spot just off the speed and she was far too good. If she can get a similar run in transit, 1400m will be okay.

Not sure what to make of the first up win of 6 Junction (Bet Now: $9.00). There was merit to it though because he was eligible for easier races, but resumed in an open handicap, and in a driving go, he was able to cling on and get the job done. Not quite as dynamic second up historically, but does have enormous upside and extra furlong only helps.

2 Snitch (Bet Now: $7.50) might need one more, but he’s got enough class/quality to be around the mark. He resumed behind Junction over 1200m here a fortnight back and I thought he had every chance. Tucked in behind the speed, was there to win but just whacked away late. He’s better than that. Whether he needs another run, market will be the guide.

2 Fastnet Cyclone (Bet Now: $5.50) is crying out for the 2200m I feel. Last three runs have come over the mile at Doomben and each time he has hit the line strongly, the latest coming last Saturday when just missing out on picking up Aqua Vite. Has won up to 2400m, so 2200m here is fine and he’s holding his form quite well.

See no reason why 6 Joymaker (Bet Now: $3.90) can’t win again. Kelly Schweida trained mare who lapped up a strong tempo when racing over 2100m here two weeks ago and once Jim Byrne peeled her wider on the turn, it was game over and she was far too good for them. Seems to have a real liking for this track and up to 2200m should be fine.

9 Spirit (Bet Now: $13.00) is a working progress for Chris Waller. He comes through the Joymaker race from two weeks back here where he was put into a lovely spot just off the speed but didn’t have the pace in the legs to go with Joymaker and whacked away to run third. Should be hard fit now and 2200m looks okay for him.

Good little test here for 14 Ginger Rock (Bet Now: $4.40) but confident she can measure up. Last couple of starts have resulted in strong midweek wins at Doomben, winning over 1050m two back before stepping up to 1200m where she was even more impressive, charging to the line late. Off that, 1400m here is fine and finds a winnable Saturday class race.

1 Persuader (Bet Now: $4.20) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance in an open handicap where she was near the speed throughout and tried very hard, but couldn’t quite see it through and had to settle for a second placing to Skate To Paris, who franked the form two weeks ago, so that reads well, and back to 80 grade, is hard to beat.

10 Love Struck (Bet Now: $4.20) is a Scott Morrisey trained gelding that continued his fabulous second up record when winning here two weeks back. Put into a lovely spot just off the speed under Hellyer and once the split came nearer the inside, the change up speed was there and he finished best to win. Early on in the prep is when to back him it seems but that second up run was seven weeks after the resumption, so he’s pretty much second up again.

10 Desert Lord (Bet Now: $1.70) is one of the more fascinating runners for the meeting. Former Team Hawkes galloper that is now with the David Vandyke camp. Borderline Stakes class horse when racing in Sydney but he was too head strong, so now with Vandyke and has had two trials to get ready, the latest coming last Tuesday at Deagon when trucking behind The Candy Man. If he’s ready to go, think he wins.

3 Catesby (Bet Now: $7.00) is working up to a win for the Desleigh Forster team. He ran over this track/distance a fortnight back and gave a really good kick in the straight, nearly holding out Junction but the Currie horse nabbed him on the peg. He’s done a really good job since joining the stable and is deserving of a win. Gets his chance here.

5 Ditmas (Bet Now: $11.00) looks ready to win for Mel Eggleston. He comes through the Junction race from two weeks ago here and he did try very hard, but couldn’t quite get there, having to settle for third. Think if he is to win, might need to sit a pair or two closer in the run, and he is capable of that. Hard to beat if that eventuates.

8 The Kingdom (Bet Now: $4.50) is real horse for a course and his track/distance record is super. Impressive win from the back to win here two back before being freshened up and going to the Coffs Harbour Cup where he was very good from near last in the run when second to Sikandarabad. Saves his best for Eagle Farm and up to 1800m, he’s a leading contender.

9 Aliferous (Bet Now: $3.10) won’t get a better chance to put a win on the board, but have to keep in mind it has been around 18 months since she has won one. But the run at Randwick two weeks ago was very good, closing off strongly when third to Man Of Peace. Fitter, rises in trip, has class, well in at the weights…she ticks the boxes. Does she have the desire?

The speed map looks very kind for 5 Sabkhat (Bet Now: $18.00). Steve O’Dea trained ten year old that should lead these for fun and if he can get control from the front, he’ll take some beating at a price. He hasn’t been able to get control this time in but there is nothing else that will go with him here unless a Waller horse decides to go forward.

BEST BET: Race Eight Number 10 Desert Lord

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 9 Kisukano

LONG SHOT: Race Four Number 13 Motomiss
