Doomben will conduct a ten race card on Tuesday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is out a half metre for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (12:43) Souths Sports Club Plate (C1) 1200m
2 Cho Oyu (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks a good horse on the up for Barry Lockwood and takes beating after a first up placing at Eagle Farm when off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when second. Off that return, he has to be respected.
15 Woosh Ka Boom (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes to Saturday metro grade after an all the way maiden win at Eagle Farm where she led and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and score. Harder here, but think she’ll acquit herself well.
1 Boom Boom Ray (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a stablemate of Cho Oyu that resumes. He was formerly in Victoria under the care of Gavin Bedggood before being sent this way. Thought he moved quite well in a recent trial at Deagon so I say watch betting and see what it does.
Race 2. (13:18) Xxxx Sideline Beer Garden 3 May Hcp 2000m
2 He’s A Saint (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes through the Philia race from two weeks ago at Eagle Farm. He was keen in the run off the moderate speed and just couldn’t get involved in the finish, but he was coming back from 1700m so rising to 2000m, I think he can bounce back big time.
1 Prince Levi (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is racing like 2000m suits. He ran over the mile at Eagle Farm a fortnight back where he got off speed and was one paced when asked for the effort but kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat I thought behind Philia. That is two runs at 1600m on the bounce so the rise in trip suits and this isn’t a deep race.
4 High Class Roller (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Matty Dunn trained gelding that comes to town off the back of a placing at Grafton when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite finish the job. 2000m is the query but with front end control, he’s dangerous.
Race 3. (13:52) Michael Cahill (Bm70) 1350m
3 Heyoka (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has to be rated as the one to beat after a win over 1400m at Eagle Farm where she was on speed throughout and trucking before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Good racing style and has upside/improvement. Hard to beat.
8 Bucks Fizz (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has a good record at Doomben and will land on speed, as seen at Eagle Farm last time and gave a good sight from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to stablemate Heyoka. She’ll be around the mark.
1 Sistine Explorer (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes back to 1350m for John Smerdon after racing over 1400m at the Gold Coast when off speed and was never really a factor behind Shihab. Back to Mares grade and back in trip, her best is clearly good enough.
Race 4. (14:27) Ladbrokes Calcutta & Luncheon 13 June (Bm70) 1350m
10 Voracious (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is 2/2 since joining Tony Gollan and is one of the hardest to beat in order to make it 3/3. Latest win was over 1400m at Eagle Farm where he led throughout and gave nothing else a look in to win impressively. 1600m is no issue and I reckon he’ll be better ridden with a sit.
2 Hang Five (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is better suited at this level for mine after racing over 1400m at Eagle Farm two weeks ago where he found a strong 78 and couldn’t handle the depth/class when down the track behind Space Tracker. Back to this level of race, he takes beating.
4 Castillian (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Tony Gollan trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Nov 16 at the Sunny Coast where he found a heavy track and couldn’t quite pick his feet up late in the piece. Fresh at 1350m I like and he’ll be strong late.
Race 5. (15:02) Larry Cassidy (Bm70) 1600m
15 Rhuuval (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has earned a crack at this kind of race with how well he’s racing at the moment, his last start being a win over 1400m at Eagle Farm where he got better as the race went on. Good test here, but confident he can measure up.
16 November Falls (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is flying for Mitch Beer. She ran at Kembla last time out when near the speed throughout and she tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when third. Hard fit, 1600m is fine, maps ideal…leading chance.
2 Bold Bourbon (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to the mile after resuming over 1400m at the Gold Coast where he paraded like he would need the run and that’s how it panned out behind Shihab. Better set up here, he’s a definite improver at a big price.
Race 6. (15:37) Brc Membership (Rs0mw) 1200m
12 Mean Approach (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) takes beating here for Pat Webster. He ran over this trip two weeks ago at Eagle Farm and was one of the real eye catchers of the meeting, closing off strongly from the back when third to Ser Joh. He has run well at Doomben before and if he can settle closer, he takes beating for sure.
10 Centre Bounce (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks better suited back to 1200m after racing over 1400m at the Sunny Coast last time out when off speed and was very one paced in the straight. Fast run 1200m, handles wet ground, she’s in the mix.
7 Scud (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) ran behind Ser Joh two weeks back at Eagle Farm. She got a fair way out of her ground and was never really a factor. Her best is clearly good enough and overall, this isn’t a strong contest, so don’t dismiss her.
Race 7. (16:12) Xxxx (Bm78) 2000m
Keen to be with 10 Naval Seal (Bet Now:Β $SP.00). He ran over 1800m at Eagle Farm two weeks ago and kept chasing from off the speed but just found one better in Kipling’s Journey. 2000m is ideal, he swims and does like Doomben. Keen on his chances.
13 Master Copy (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a slight query at 2000m but he does bring solid enough form lines. He ran over 1700m at the Gold Coast last time when just off the speed and loomed to win but found one better in Tuhinga. If the 2000m is fine, then he’s in the mix.
6 Kipling’s Journey (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. The last start resulted in a win at Eagle Farm where he got a beaut run on speed before being clicked up and he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Track/distance winner previously, he’s here as a key threat.
Race 8. (16:47) Moreton Hire (Bm85) 1600m
10 Victory Win (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should love the rise to 1600m after resuming over 1400m two weeks ago at Eagle Farm where he got a fair way off the speed but worked home quite well without threatening behind Space Tracker. Fitter and up in trip, good track/distance stats, he’s the one for me.
1 Tenzing (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) ran third to stablemate Rising Pacific four weeks ago. He got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but just lacked the finale to go with them late. I think with a more patient steer, he can run an improved race and is a threat.
8 Flashing Steel (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) will be better for the first up run, which came at the Gold Coast where he attempted to lead throughout but first up, condition just gave way late behind Shihab. Better for the run and a more patient steer, he can run an improved race.
Race 9. (17:22) Sky Racing Hcp 1350m
4 Mr Bubbaluski (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the one to beat for mine. He comes through the 3YO Jewel from two weeks ago at the Gold Coast where he got a mile out of his ground but worked home with real purpose late in the piece when second to Hearts Are Better. Racing like 1350m is ideal and should prove hard to beat against this lot.
2 Apuntar (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came in the 3YO Jewel. He was keen in the run just off the speed and couldn’t quite get involved, tiring late. If he can relax better in the run this time around, he’s got the engine under the hood to threaten.
3 Poster Girl (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is just over two weeks between runs since a win at Eagle Farm when a big price. She got a decent run in transit near the speed and finished best to win narrowly but nicely. 1350m is the slight query but she does have an element of class on her side.
Race 10. (18:01) Ladbrokes Mates Mode Pots Hcp 1350m
9 Hatchet (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has found positive form and he can certainly go on with it. He ran third to Red Defcon two weeks ago at the Gold Coast where he got a fair way out of his ground but really liked the way he closed off late in the piece. Hard to beat if he can settle closer in the run.
8 Corfe Castle (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes back to a track/distance he loves after racing over 1400m at the Gold Coast a fortnight back. He got into a decent spot near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Red Defcon. Back to where he races best, he can bounce back big time.
18 En Pointe (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is two weeks between runs after resuming in the Military Rose at the Gold Coast where she just found them too sharp but wasn’t too bad in defeat behind Liquor. She showed signs of life there and with upside, better set up here, she’s dangerous.
