Race 1. (14:41) Tabtouch Handicap (0MWLY) 1000m
2 Let’s Talk (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks a good thing against these. He ran over this track/distance four weeks ago when trying his guts out but couldn’t quite get there behind Prospectors Pick. Has fresh legs, a touch of quality about him and the depth here is nowhere near as deep.
1 Lord Shiva (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Mitch Pateman trained gelding that is 2/2 this time in, the latest coming at Belmont on May 21 when leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in. Good test here against likely types but confident he can measure up.
9 Get Out Mick (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Formerly with Barry Cook, he is now with Yannick Valenti. He is first up, having not raced since March 29 at Alice Springs when placing over 1100m. Whether he’s being aimed at dirt racing in WA, not sure, but his recent trial was solid, so watch betting.
Race 2. (15:19) Integra Insurance Brokers Plate 1200m
1 Baby Pearl (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has to stretch her brilliance to 1200m but she has a good racing style and is hard fit. She won over 1000m two weeks ago at Bunbury, leading throughout, getting front end control and she gave nothing else a look in. Hard to beat against these I say.
3 Monte Tremezzo (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a daughter of Hellbent that resumes for Dan Morton. She is first up after a two run Summer/Autumn prep where she did a good job in races that had more depth than this. Looks to have trialled up well. Just needs to overcome the sticky gate.
6 Written Words (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs for Mitch Pateman since debuting over 1000m at Bunbury when off speed and made up good headway without threatening. Fitter and up to 1200m, he’ll spot them a start but be strong late.
Race 3. (15:54) Tabtouch Handicap (78+) 1200m
10 Celestial Storm (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) on top in what looks a good race. She ran four weeks ago down the straight here when on speed ad tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when third to Richanco. Tricky draw but will press forward and take running down.
2 Repossession (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is flying this time in for Team Gangemi and has to be respected. 2/2 this time in, the latest win coming down the starlight here three weeks ago when too good for his own age. Now taking on the older horses and 1200m but hard to knock the way he’s racing.
1 Rokanori (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is one of the more interesting runners on the program. He comes here with fresh legs, being seven weeks between runs since a down the track effort at Ascot. His best is clearly good enough to be a threat so watch betting.
Race 4. (16:45) Barragup Self Storage Handicap (1MW) 1600m
9 L’il Capri (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) seems a straight bat play. Team Williams trained mare that ran last Thursday here. She got a fair way out of her ground but liked the way she closed her race off in defeat. Think she’s racing really well at present and for mine, strikes a winnable race.
4 Rommeo (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has a good third up record and is a track/distance winner. He ran at Bunbury two weeks ago where he got into a decent spot just off the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. Hard fit, his best is clearly good enough.
1 Snazzler (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) doesn’t have the best of records at Pinjarra but he is racing in good form at present. Latest run was a third to Famous Dain two weeks back at Bunbury, he got off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat. Knocking on the door, he commands respect.
Race 5. (17:15) Tabtouch Handicap (1MW) 1300m
2 Cross Statement (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has a good record at Pinjarra and off the first up win, I say he’s hard to beat here. He resumed at Northam when leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Good upside to come, good racing style, he appeals.
13 Uncle Gerard (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) commands respect after his eye catching effort at Bunbury two weeks ago. He ran over 1400m where he got back to near last in the run and spotted those in front a tidy start but really liked the way he closed his race off in defeat. If within range, he has the finale to win.
11 Snippy Sean (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since May 24 over the mile at Belmont where he got off speed and was never really a factor. His best is good enough so I wouldn’t be dismissing him.
Race 6. (17:45) Murray Veterinary Services Handicap (66+) 1200m
12 Want A Winner (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) to resume a winner for Team Casey. 2/2 to start his career with a spell in between, the second win being a dominant win at Ascot in February. Given a good break, trialled enormous and draws ideally I say.
4 Tycoon Harry (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He landed on speed and tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Objectify, but that said, he was game in defeat. Good racing style, he is a key chance.
3 Sunny Honey (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should be around the mark, as seen two weeks back at Bunbury. He landed near the felony relatively comfortably and seemingly had his chance but he battled away really well. He can win this for sure with the right run in transit.
Race 7. (18:20) Belmont Guineas 1600m
I think getting back to set weights can see 7 Storyville (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) bounce back into the winners list. She ran two weeks ago in the Raconteur where she had to lump the weight and couldn’t quite get involved as a winning threat. Back to set weights, hard fit and 1600m, keen on her prospects.
2 Elite Missile (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) was a real eye catcher in the Raconteur. He got back to near last in the run but closed with real purpose late when second to Opportunistic. he’s found positive form, 1600m, he appeals.
8 Earthstorm (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1400m here last Saturday. She got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, I liked the way she finished off. If she’s within range, she has the finale to win.
Race 8. (18:52) Beaufine Stakes @ Pinjarra Handicap (72+) 1400m
5 Royal Toronado (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should love the rise to 1400m after two runs at 1200m to start the prep, the latest being two weeks ago at Bunbury when back and while he was never threatening, I liked his finale. Hard fit, up in trip, keen on his prospects.
4 Wubin Gold (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a beauty for Colin Webster and off a last start win, she has to be given respect. That win came over 1200m, giving them a start and a beating to win, albeit a dead heat win. The rise to 1400m looks fine, she’s hard to beat.
8 Kelvinator (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is flying for Fred Kersley and is one of the key chances. He has won two on the bounce, the latest being four weeks ago here when leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win quite well. Good racing style and hard to knock the way he’s racing.
