28/3/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville, Dequetteville Stakes day

Ten races will be run and won at Morphettville this Saturday for Clare Lindop Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out six metres for the entire circuit.

1 Bootlegger (Bet Now: $1.90) was a gritty on speed winner of the Morphettville Guineas. Credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found plenty under pressure to fend them off and score. He has the runs on the board, he takes beating.

3 Mostly For Show (Bet Now: $5.50) ran fifth to Bootlegger in the Morphettville Guineas. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just lacked the killer blow to go with them late. He’s racing in pretty solid form and is one for exotics.

2 Matahga (Bet Now: $3.00) should appreciate getting to the mile after resuming over 1300m behind Oak Park Madison. He just found them too sharp but kept chasing and kept finding the line in defeat. Better set up here, I am not dismissing him.

1 A Samurai Mind (Bet Now: $2.45) steps back up to the mile after racing last Saturday over 1400m on the Parks track. He wanted to do a bit wrong in the straight and I reckon it may have cost him the win when second to Pudding. Back up in trip on the bigger track, he appeals.

4 Star Sirius (Bet Now: $5.50) is three weeks between runs since a win at Murray Bridge. She gave them a start and a beating, coming with a well timed run to score. Her confidence is up and I don’t see 1600m being an issue for her.

8 Yasuke (Bet Now: $14.00) ran fourth to Star Sirius from three weeks back at Murray Bridge. He was back off speed and was good late without really threatening. Hit and miss this guy but if he brings his best, he is capable.

7 Whiskey Tumbler (Bet Now: $2.70) should be better for the debut run, which came over 1000m threeoweeks ago at Murray Bridge. He was on speed throughout and fought really hard in the straight but had a hard fit Carpe Astra outside him and that horse was just a touch too good. Extra 200m is fine, he’s in the mix.

5 Golden Cloud (Bet Now: $3.10) was a real eye catcher on debut three weeks ago at Murray Bridge, getting a fair way out of his ground but you had to like the way he finished his race off in defeat. Better for the run and up in trip, he appeals.

4 Brave Fortune (Bet Now: $8.00) is a son of Hanseatic that is on debut for Will Clarken. He has had extensive trial work dating back to the start of February to get ready for the debut and for the most part, has looked pretty good, so I say watch betting and see what it does.

1 Aleppo Pine (Bet Now: $4.20) is a Team Hayes trained three year old that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Cup Day when midfield over 1000m behind a handy sprinter, Pallaton. Looks to have jumped out well for the return and does seem to race best early on in the prep.

10 Common Interest (Bet Now: $51.00) is a Team Jolly trained three year old that resumes. He did some nice things when kicking off his career in the Spring, with the prep ending with a fourth over 1250m on the Parks track. Looks to have jumped out well, he’s a key chance.

8 Shocap (Bet Now: $9.00) should be better for the first up run, which came here on Adelaide Cup Day where she ran a very honest race in defeat but had no answers late for the quality animal Mathematician. Looks hard to beat against these with that form line.

1 Never Ordinary (Bet Now: $1.40) looks a rocket for Byron Cozamanis. Just missed on debut in the Cinderella before going to the Parks track two weeks ago where she looked a moral against two rivals and duly saluted, winning quite comfortably. Lands on speed and will take running down.

The Blue Diamond form is A1 so with that in mind, I am surprised 2 Almost An Angel (Bet Now: $5.00) is the price she is. Total forgive in the Blue Diamond when four/five wide from the draw and was never a factor. Back to her own sex, much less depth…if there is petrol in the tank, I think she’ll run really well.

5 Verzain (Bet Now: $8.00) is a Phillip Stokes trained filly that resumes. She debuted at Murray Bridge on Jan 17 when off speed and closed with purpose in the straight but just missed when second. Jumped out well for the return, watch betting.

10 Blanc Visage (Bet Now: $8.50) is three weeks between runs since a narrow third over this trip at Murray Bridge. I thought the ride from Voorham was average, getting badly held up in behind and left it far too late to build the revs when a close up third to Angel Torque. Flying and can take this out for sure.

11 Walk Like An Angel (Bet Now: $15.00) just found them too sharp a fortnight back over 1000m on the Parks track when resuming. She was off speed and worked home well enough without really threatening. Better set up here, she’s dangerous.

6 High On Sugar (Bet Now: $18.00) ran fourth to Angel Torque three weeks back at Murray Bridge. He got back to near last in the run and worked home with real purpose in the straight when beaten a half length. He can motor late, so he’s a key chance.

3 Scandalize (Bet Now: $3.80) looks hard to beat up to 1500m after racing over 1400m two weeks ago on the Parks track when off speed and was held up at times, driving hard late to just miss out on picking up Ramasis. Rise in trip looks ideal, he should prove to be a leading contender.

7 Theromdynamic (Bet Now: $11.00) gave real cheek from the front a fortnight back on the Parks track. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent sight from the front but just felt the pinch late in the piece. If he gets complete front end control, he’ll be hard to get past.

5 Talisay (Bet Now: $11.00) drops big time in grade/depth after racing in the CS Hayes Memorial when back near last in the run and made up minimal headway but was far from disgraced. Back to 66 grade, she’ll take a power of beating against this lot.

8 Shadhavar (Bet Now: $2.35) was a short priced favourite when resuming three weeks ago in the Magic Millions at Murray Bridge, leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in to win well. Good racing style, sustained speed, she takes running down.

1 Arkansaw Kid (Bet Now: $2.60) has class on his side and that is going to carry him a long way. He hasn’t raced since a down the track effort in a Group l at Te Rapa behind First Five when on speed and tired late. He does fly fresh and a recent jumpout was strong.

2 Chicago Storm (Bet Now: $15.00) is a David Aldridge trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Dec 27 when down the track in the Christmas Handicap here and was spelled soon after. Looks to have trialled well for the return, watch betting.

6 Silvasista (Bet Now: $3.50) clearly appeals here after how she has returned. Resumed with an absolute bang in a Wangaratta maiden before going to the Platinum Guineas at Caulfield where she ran a beauty in defeat behind Salty Pearl. Has that mile run under the belt and brings strong form lines.

I thought the ride from Stubby was average on 3 Dirty Old Town (Bet Now: $8.00) in the Morphettville Guineas. Just ridden far too negatively I thought from the inside gate and set the filly too much of a task. Thought she ran really well when third and looks much better suited here.

2 Mating Call (Bet Now: $3.60) should appreciate getting to 1600m after resuming over 1300m two weeks back on the Parks track where she just found them a bit sharp but kept chasing in a good return. Better set up here for her, not dismissing.

6 Shadow Eagle (Bet Now: $6.00) should have gone close to winning two weeks ago on the Parks track. He got badly held up in behind when seemingly full of running, running sixth, but I think had the gaps appeared, he wins. Flying and with room to move, he can win.

14 Casino Showgirl (Bet Now: $9.00) is a Will Clarken trained mare that is first up. She hasn’t raced since Nov 22 when back and made up headway without threatening at Cranbourne. Couple of jumpouts under the belt, watch betting.

3 Synchro (Bet Now: $12.00) is a Michael Hickmott trained gelding that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since Sep 6 when on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Alainge. Given a good break, looks to have jumped out well, watch the market.

LONG SHOT: Race Ten Number 6 Shadow Eagle
