4 Chica Astuta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Toronado filly on debut for Phillip Stokes. She looks to have jumped out well in Victoria in readiness for start one, the latest piece of work seeing her win at Pakenham. Stable flying with their juveniles, watch betting, but I think she is above average.

2 Super Wonder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice mover for Team Jolly. He trialled here recently, winning the trial and ran quite well to my eye in winning. Bred to be handy and strikes a winnable race, so keen to see how he goes.

5 Crazyaboutzou (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Zousain filly that debuts for the Jolly camp. She trialled here a couple of weeks ago and ran second, beaten narrowly but did seemingly go about her business quite nicely, so keen to see how she goes against these. Watch betting.

6 Jumbo Jet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Wootton Bassett gelding for Phillip Stokes that debuts. He has had a couple of trials to get ready for start one, the latest coming here when second over 1050m and moved well enough I thought. Stable is going well with their younger gallopers, watch betting.

8 Ramasis (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat for Travis Doudle. He debuted two weeks ago over 1000m here, sitting off speed and worked home with purpose when second to Bardigrub. Like the rise to 1250m and off the debut run, he commands respect.

7 No Bail (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran third to Uptown Monk on debut last Wednesday at Strathalbyn. He was held up at times and never threatening the winner but he kept chasing and was a definite pass mark when third. Better for the run, he appeals.

4 Dirty Old Town (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after a win over the mile on the course proper last time, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. If she can use the inside gate and settle closer, she’ll be hard to hold out.

1 Mostly For Show (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after a first up second over 1250m here two weeks ago when off speed and worked home well but bumped into one a potential star, Bassett Babe. Fitter, 1400m, can settle closer, he appeals.

3 Freedom Flame (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumed three weeks back over 1200m, taking on the older horses. and while held, I thought she was far from disgraced in defeat behind the in form Thunder Shoc. Fitter, 1400m and back to her own age, she can run an improved race.

7 Wild Winner (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has credits in the bank…just, to forgive the last start flop on the course proper. She had the suck run in transit off speed but didn’t fire a shot when asked and was most disappointing. I do think perhaps she struggled on the seven day back up so with that in mind, up in trip and back a fair way in depth, I’ll give her another chance.

4 Longer Route (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up in trip after an impressive win over 1800m on the course proper three weeks ago, sustaining the run and was quite strong to the line in winning. His confidence is up, he can certainly go on with it.

3 Imposing Suspect (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Naracoorte Cup from just under three weeks back. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was quite good in defeat when fourth to El James. If within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.

Leaning the way of 1 Autumn Frost (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He hasn’t raced since June 3 when a game second at Gawler when near the speed and was there to win but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Percidian. Two jumpout wins since, he’s hard to beat.

2 Big Brute (Bet Now:  $SP.00) attempted to lead throughout a fortnight back at this track/distance and gave a strong kick from the front but just felt the pinch late when third to Tough Talk. Front end control, I think he’ll run a beauty against these.

7 Never Surrender (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth to Tough Talk at this track/distance two weeks back. He sat on speed and I thought was there to win but just whacked late and couldn’t quite finish the job. Not sure I could back him to win but is a must for exotics.

7 Hysterical Lady (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Jan 17 at Murray Bridge when back and closing hard late when third. Market will be the guide re whether she needs the run, but she has a touch of quality vs these and will be stronger than most late.

4 Talisay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy mare resuming for Byron Cozamanis. She is first up, her last run coming on Nov 22 in the Skybeau Final when fourth. Better suited over further and will spot them a start but will be very strong late.

5 Top Of The Ridge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1800m last Saturday on the course proper. He got back off speed and was held up at times but was never really a threat behind Somewhere Soon. He should spot them a start and launch late.

7 Tapinforpar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take beating here after a strong effort two weeks ago at this track/distance, closing hard from near last on the turn when second to Streetcar Apollo. Just needs to settle a pair or two closer in the run and he’ll take holding out.

4 Streetcar Apollo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in a purple patch for the Jolly/Potter camp. Tough on speed win here a fortnight back. Credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Good racing style, hard fit, in form, he appeals.

9 Texan Windstorm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was ridden with intent two weeks back at this track/distance, landing on speed and did try hard but tired to finish down the track behind Streetcar Apollo. Think with a more conservative steer, he can run a much improved race.

9 Nextonixs (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran a fortnight back over this track/distance, getting held up behind them before getting clear and drove hard late when third to Mintulee. Better for the run and with room to move, she’s dangerous against these.

6 Daisydoo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was absolutely bursting to win and that win FINALLY came three weeks ago on the course proper here, getting the beaut run in transit and in a driving go late, finished best to score. Her confidence is up, she can certainly go on with it against these.

8 Over Yonder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was an impressive winner two weeks back at this track/distance, appreciating the fast speed and let down with purpose late to score. More depth here but off a dominant win like that, he’s in the mix.

3 Mercury Eight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) attempted to lead throughout over 1075m at Penola last start where he led and gave a strong kick but had no answers late for the finale of Santastico. Good racing style and I think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be more effective.

8 Effusiv (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and take running down, as seen a fortnight back at this track/distance. She attempted to lead throughout and gave a strong sight from the front but just felt the pinch late when second to Over Yonder. Looks the leader and will look the winner for a long way.

5 Sharendipituy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumed two weeks back at this track/distance where she was beaten for early speed, got back and made up some headway but was never really threatening. If she can settle closer, she’s certainly good enough to take this out.

2 Crespiano (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat play in the opener. He resumed in a Kilmore maiden over 1450m, where I am not sure he was entirely happy on the track but loved the way he knuckled down and found plenty when asked to win. Finds a winnable race here, happy to be in his corner.

10 Rousing Refrain (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran over 1350m last Wednesday at Strathalbyn when off speed and worked home pretty well late in the piece when second. Like the rise in trip and maps to get a decent enough run in transit. Rates highly.

8 France’s Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since attempting to lead throughout over the mile on the course proper. He gave cheek from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through and tired to finish down the track behind World’s My Oyster. Back to this level, he runs an improved race.

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 3 Mercury Eight
