20 First Empire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Kelly Schweida trained three year old that resumed over this trip at Doomben when off speed and was held up at times but got clear and was good late in the piece when beaten a lip by Amuseantes. Better for the run, can settle closer, hard to beat.

17 Kilonova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix for Chris Waller. She ran a couple of weeks ago at the Gold Coast when attempting to lead throughout and she gave.a strong kick but just felt the pinch late when third, I think with a more patient steer, she’ll be far more effective.

3 Unstopabull (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1200m at Doomben in the Amuseantes race mentioned above. He got back in the run and did make up ground but was never threatening. Fitter, bigger track, he’s a definite improver.

5 Tajawal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been pretty good this time in for Declan Maher and comes here off the back of a dominant win at Ipswich where he looked a good thing on paper and despite a few nervous moments in the run, class came to the fore and he was much too good. He can go on with it.

3 Rattle And Hum (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door for Michael Freedman. He ran second over 2200m here two weeks ago, trying his guts out but just found one better in Savannah Gangster. He’s found positive form now, he can certainly go on with it.

4 Dillian (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 2070m at Doomben where he got back to near last in the run and made up minor headway but was never really threatening. Fitter and up in trip, good upside to come, I say he’s dangerous at odds.

11 Carpaccio (Bet Now:  $SP.00) appears well placed here. Let down with real purpose to win impressively two back at Ipswich before going to the Sunny Coast where he just spotted those in front too much head start but was good late when eventually clear. Hard fit and up to the mile, he commands respect.

12 Midnight Spirit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m here two weeks ago. He did early work to land on speed and did try hard but just felt the pinch late behind Special Artist. I think with a more economical run in transit, he can bounce back.

5 Celestial Fury (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Rob Heathcoate trained stayer that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Sep 6 over 2200m at Doomben when down the track and looking a tired horse behind Piggyback. Fresh at the mile signals intent and the trial work has been encouraging so watch betting.

3 Perfect Play (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form again and he can certainly go on with it. That win came over the mile at Doomben, sitting on speed and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.

5 Naval Seal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after racing over the mile at Doomben two weeks ago. He got into a decent spot in transit just off the speed and did try hard but just couldn’t quite get there and whacked late behind Perfect Play. Like him up in trip on the bigger track, he’s dangerous.

11 Man Of The Town (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to town after a midweek win at Ipswich where the market said he was pretty much a good thing and won as such, drawing clear late from off speed to win and win well. Flying this guy and off that performance, he has to be respected.

3 King Yoshi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the likely leader and from there, he’ll take running down, as seen first up at the Sunny Coast where he led throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win and win well. He should hold the lead from the gate and be hard to get past.

9 Zoubaby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Formerly with Team Freedman, she now finds herself with Tony Gollan. Latest run was Derby Day at this track/distance when off speed and tried hard but had to settle for a second to Hearts Are Better. Liked the way she moved in a recent trial and she has a touch of quality about her when right.

2 Taltarni Fields (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kelly Schweida trained gelding that resumes, He is a good short course type that was around the mark throughout the campaign when last in work and his recent trial win was sharp. Watch betting.

3 Zip Lock (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini freshen up for Team Munce since a debut win at Doomben on Nov 15 over 1200m. He gave them a start and a beating, knuckling down with purpose late to win and win well. Tick over trial last week at Doomben was quite good and he has that 1200m run under the belt, plus the form has been franked. Right in the mix.

1 Tornado Valley (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a let up since a win at Flemington during Cup Week, finishing best on the shifty track to win the Maribyrnong Plate. Has eyes on the Magic Millions and a tick over trial was quite good.

5 Magritte (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has placed in all three career outings and is a must for exotics. She ran second to Itchintogo in the Phelan Ready, settling off speed and worked home well but just couldn’t quite get there. Like her back up to 1200m, a knockout chance.

7 Miss Joelene (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on top. Should have won at the Sunny Coast two back but was given a sore back by Cejay. She made amends on the mare in the Tails Stakes two weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in a very impressive display. Just needs clear air to the outside and I think she’ll round them up again.

1 Amor Victorious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can bounce back hard against these. Track was too wet in The Gong. He found firmer footing in The Ingham and while held by Yorkshire, I thought he was far from disgraced in defeat. Much better suited at this level, he lands on speed and takes running down.

3 Encoder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Michael Freedman trained gelding that resumes, I dare say with eyes on winning the Subzero at the Gold Coast. He hasn’t raced since Oct 11 when far from disgraced in the QLD Cup behind Walsh Bay. Two strong trials under the belt, I say he’ll run a positive race here.

3 Payline (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is very dangerous for Team Munce. He ran so well during the Melbourne Spring but couldn’t quite crack it for a win. Freshened up for the Summer here and a tick over trial win last week was quite sharp so keen to see how he goes.

9 Pereille (Bet Now:  $SP.00) takes beating here for Tony Gollan after his runner up effort in the George Moore where the race shape wasn’t really suited to him and he was held up at times but was pretty good late when clear when second to Caballus. Eagle Farm 1200m looks ideal, he’s a key chance.

6 Lubrication (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the George Moore from three weeks back at Doomben where the race shape was totally against him but despite that, I thought he closed off pretty well in defeat behind Caballus. Like him on the bigger track, he’ll get good cover and launch late.

3 Scripted (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned really well for Matty Dunn and is one of the hardest to beat after her return at Doomben two weeks ago behind Yoyo Yeezy, getting back in the run and was held up at times but loved the way she closed off her race late. If within range, I think her finale may be too much.

2 Abender (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat for Tony Gollan after racing over 1100m at the midweeks at Ipswich when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat when second to The Hamo. Like the rise to 1200m for him, bigger track, can settle closer…rates highly.

1 Ramp It Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Lindsay Gough trained four year old that resumes. He hasn’t raced since July 26 when a game second over the mile at Doomben after sitting on speed. Better suited over further but will be strong late and is a must for exotics.

9 Chief Witness (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Team Munce and is one of the hardest to beat. He ran a few weeks ago at Doomben and was a real eye catcher from the back when third to the very much in form Ready To Schipp. Back to where he likes racing, can settle closer, takes beating I say.

11 Apuntar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was poorly set up I thought in The Gateway last time out at this track/distance and while he ran accordingly, I thought he was far from disgraced in defeat. Better suited at this level, he’s a definite improver.

5 Excelladus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) creates interest. Formerly with Joe Pride, he now finds himself with Stuart Kendrick. Not too many improve when they leave Joe Pride so in that regard, he is an interesting runner. Recent trial was encouraging and fresh at 1400m signals intent so watch betting.

NEXT BEST: Race Five Number 3 King Yoshi

LONG SHOT: Race Four Number 3 Perfect Play
