Race 1. (12:25) The Fotobase Group Handicap (70) 2500m

Back Me

4 Christmas (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take a power of beating against these for Paul Preusker. I was on him at odds when racing over 2400m at Geelong three weeks ago where he was a bit flat footed and held up at times but when eventually clear, he found the line with real purpose when third to Wertheimer. He was a month between runs and has good improvement to come. Good gamble.

Danger

2 Manzala (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been up a little while but is holding his form really well. He was on speed throughout when racing two weeks ago at Murray Bridge and he gave a strong kick but couldn’t quite finish it off when a narrow second to Wisaka. I think with a more conservative steer, he’ll be much better off and is a definite winning chance.

Long Shot

3 Canford (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hit and miss at times but his best is more than good enough to take this out, as seen two back when winning over this track/distance before going to Murray Bridge where he got back to near last in the run and did make up headway but was never a threat behind Wisaka. His best is good enough. Just hard to trust. But he has to be included.

Race 2. (12:45) Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (82) 1600m

Back Me

2 Aitch D’Amico (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win again and I think he gets his chance here. He ran over the mile two weeks ago at Murray Bridge and really, he should have won. The eventual winner Montign kept Aitch D’Amico in a pocket and that was the difference between winning and losing. He’s flying at the moment and I think with better form lines, he’s the way to go.

Danger

1 Magnetic Edge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Hickmott/Riggs after racing last Saturday at Gawler where he got into a dream spot behind the speed before angling into clear air and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get the job done when a narrow second to Pool Pony, who is flying. He is a better horse on firmer footing and with that here, he appeals.

Long Shot

6 France’s Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver back up in trip. He ran two weeks back at Murray Bridge when attempting to lead throughout but he was the first horse beat and was very plain in the straight, running tailed off last behind Exalted Dame. Back up in trip, front end control, he can run an improved race.

Race 3. (13:20) SkyCity Handicap (70) 1800m

Back Me

3 Crown Mint (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise back up in trip. He was 1800m to 1700m when racing at Penola last time, getting back in the run and while he was never a threat, he made up ground and was good in defeat behind Thrill Kill. He’s a hard horse to catch at times but I do think he’s racing well and strikes a winnable race.

Danger

2 Russian Dancer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and give a sight. He did that here four weeks ago and gave a very good kick but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to the in form Test The Law. Handles wet ground, lands in front and will be hard to get past I’d suggest.

Long Shot

5 Call Me Vexatious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can run an improved race. Thrown in the deep end when racing at The Valley last time out but just found the depth a bit too much, sitting on speed and tiring late to finish down the track behind Fearentless. Back to Morphettville and off prior form, he’ll be around the mark.

Race 4. (13:55) Adelaide Galvanising Industries Handicap (Class 2) 1500m

Back Me

1 Marimenko (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks like he will win races under the care of Team Jolly and it could easily start here. First run for the camp came over 1200m at Murray Bridge two weeks back where he got a fair way out of his ground but worked home with real purpose late in the piece behind In The Darkness. Fitter and up in trip, strikes a winnable race…looks hard to beat.

Danger

3 Soames (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy gelding that resumes. He is better suited over a tad further but he is a handy galloper when right. His last run came on Oct 21 at Morphettville when placing behind Lights Of Broadway over 2000m. He is a horse who can sprint well on the fresh side and despite likely conceding a start, he’ll be strong at the end.

Long Shot

9 Tres Belle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Ryan Balfour. This girl was solid in defeat when resuming here before going to Gawler three weeks ago where she wasn’t 100% happy on wet ground behind Eroica, who has the potential to be Stakes class IMO, so that form line does read very well for this and third up, she should just about be at peak fitness.

Race 5. (14:30) Adelaide Cup Day March 11 Handicap (64) 1100m

Back Me

1 In My Room (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice horse for Team Jolly. This guy was backed as if unbeatable when debuting two weeks ago at Murray Bridge and those in the know got it spot on as he sat on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went, gapping his rivals and ran solid enough time in doing so. Off that, I am confident he can measure up against these.

Danger

9 Mintulee (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a sharp filly for Ryan Balfour that resumes. This girl had a two run Winter prep to start her career, bolting up on debut at Gawler on wet ground before being thrown in the deep end in the Dequetteville when leading and tiring badly when down the track behind La Danseuse Rouge. Jumpout work has been strong, good racing style…hard to beat.

Long Shot

3 Harley N Rose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be suited back on firmer footing and back in trip. He ran three weeks back at Gawler on testing ground where he got back in the run and failed to make up any real headway behind Meg’s Magic. Back to 1100m and back on firmer footing, his best is more than good enough to take this out.

Race 6. (15:05) Triple M Handicap (0MW 70) 1200m

Back Me

9 Shooting For Stars (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Clarken/O’Shea after racing last Saturday at Gawler where she got back off the speed before being presented clear air and finding the line strongly when second to She’s Greysful. Yet to really prove herself as a Saturday metro horse, but that said, most of these fit that criteria, and her run last weekend was strong.

Danger

5 Midnight Rush (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hit and miss at times but I do think his best is more than good enough to take this out. He resumes for Team Jolly, having not raced since Sep 16 here when seemingly having every chance but that said, he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Braveman’sgame. Trialled well enough to my eye and this isn’t a deep race so if he’s ready to go, I think he is good enough to take this out.

Long Shot

4 Hallstatt (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs for Richards/Moyle since racing over 1200m at Gawler where he was a total forgive behind Exalted Dame, sitting wide no cover for the trip and did too much work, tiring late to finish down the track. Tick over trial was good and prior efforts suggested a win was near so don’t dismiss.

Race 7. (15:40) Grand Syndicates Handicap (68) 1050m

Back Me

10 Misludi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. Phillip Stokes trained mare that has been kept on ice, having not raced since Boxing Day when sitting wide throughout here but she kept finding the line and finished best to score. Seems to race best on the fresh side, she maps perfect and with good upside to come, I am in her corner.

Danger

1 El Salto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Garret Lynch after racing at Gawler last Saturday where he got back off the speed and did a bit wrong in the straight but kept finding the line in a pretty solid effort behind Rockstar Meggsy. He has run well at the track/distance previously and will be strong late.

Long Shot

8 Roxy Blue (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and give a sight. She put together a couple of wins on the bounce before going to Gawler three weeks back where she found wet ground and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite see it through behind Smiling From Above. Back on firmer footing and with the claim, she’ll give a sight I am sure.

Race 8. (16:20) Quayclean Handicap (68) 1050m

Back Me

9 Wally West (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has only won the one race but he is a horse who has a decent engine under the hood, enough to say he can do a number on a field like this. He resumes for Jon O’Connor, having not raced since August 12 here when struggling on wet ground and looked a tired horse, finishing down the track. He has looked sharp in trial/jumpout work and does run well on the fresh side. Keen on him returning a winner.

Danger

1 Lunar Hero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks suited at this level. Dominant first up win at Port Lincoln, producing sustained speed from the front. He then raced at Murray Bridge a few weeks ago in a strong 82 and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Magic Max after doing work on speed. Back to 68 grade, in well at the weights, he appeals.

Long Shot

6 Rushaway Lad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Travis Doudle since racing at Murray Bridge where he got a fair way out of his ground and worked to the line really well late in the piece without threatening when fourth to My Ruby. Good second up record and he has a touch of quality about him when right.

Race 9. (17:00) Durbridge Stakes 1100m

Back Me

2 Larimer Street (Bet Now:  $SP.00) isn’t a noted first up performer but he looks prepped right up for a big showing fresh. He hasn’t raced since May 6 in the McKay over this track/distance when a closing second to a Group l winner in Savatoxl. Loved his jumpout win and confirmed that with a lovely subsequent trial behind Aitch Two Oh. He’ll likely spot them a start but should be very strong at the end.

Danger

5 Validated (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one with race fitness on his side. Team Blanch trained gelding that ran on New Years Day at Flemington over 1400m in the Chester Manifold and was very good from the back when a close up fourth to Not An Option. Back to 1100m I find interesting but with good speed in front, he’ll be strong at the end.

Long Shot

4 Manhattan Times (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an Andrew Gluyas trained gelding that is first up. He resumes, having not raced since Sep 16 here when down the track in the Whylie behind Grey River, being quite plain late and perhaps looking for the paddock. He is a horse who can sprint well on the fresh side and although 1100m is on the short side, he should be strong at the end.

Race 10. (17:40) Thomas Farms Handicap (64) 1600m

Back Me

10 Bene Magic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has talent. Andrew Clarken trained filly that has had two career outings, both of which have come at Murray Bridge. Debuted with a maiden win over 1200m before going to 1400m where she got back and did make up headway but was never really threatening behind Dawnburst. Like her up in trip and has more upside than most.

Danger

5 Rabtat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win and I do feel he gets a golden opportunity here because the depth isn’t overly deep. Michael Hickmott trains this gelding, who ran over the mile at Murray Bridge five weeks ago when well tried in betting. He lobbed outside the speed and seemingly had every chance but couldn’t quite get the win when second to Bamyan Buddha. Happy to give him another chance in a thin race.

Long Shot

2 Whiskey N Women (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for Jordan Frew. This mare was five weeks between runs when racing over 1400m at Murray Bridge two weeks back where she got back in the run adn while she was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way she finished her race off. Better set up here and is a proven Saturday metro performer. Hard to beat I’d suggest.
