6 Socks Nation (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy filly for Maher/Eustace. She comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since December 14 over the mile at Caulfield where she kept finding from on speed and was game in defeat when beaten a lip by Interlinked. Tick over jumpout last week was strong, she’ll press forward and take beating.

7 Cognac In Mine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a filly on the up. Danny O’Brien trained filly that debuted over 1412m at Werribee where she was backed as if unbeatable and despite a few nervous moments, class came to the fore and she was dominant in the run to the line. Harder here, but gets D Lane and seemingly has a good racing style.

2 Boondocks (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a well bred colt who is starting to put it together for Team Hayes. This guy took three starts to break the maiden status, which came over the mile at Cranbourne last time where he looked a moral on paper and despite a few nervous moments, he had a bit too much on them re class. Not sure what upside there is left for the prep but with a good racing style, he appeals.

1 Adandiman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a proven metro performer and commands respect for Tom Dabernig. He ran over 1400m at Warrnambool last time out where he led throughout and he was there to be run down but he just kept finding and was strong to the line in winning. He was six weeks between runs there so with room for improvement, good racing style, he is a definite winning chance.

7 Coastal Town (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in with a shout for Symon Wilde. He ran over 1700m at Warrnambool last time out where he was safely held but that said, he was held up at times and didn’t get the clearest of paths so be forgiving of the run. Maps to get a sweet run just off the speed and be strong at the end.

9 Very Sewreel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and give cheek, which is what she did two weeks back at Flemington and for a few strides, she was hailed as the winner, but just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by a nice horse in Otago. Good racing style for this track and with the track having a few weeks off, I am suspecting that on speed will be an advantage. Hard to beat.

3 Dane On Tour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is two weeks between runs for Team Feek since racing at Flemington where she attempted to lead throughout and she did give a decent enough kick but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Regal Vow. She was a month between runs there so with room for improvement and her racing style, she’s hard to beat.

2 Crimson Light (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Mick Kent trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since August 23 when a strong winner over 2100m at Sandown, sitting near the speed before being clicked up and was strong to the line in winning. 1600m fresh tells that the first up run isn’t a total waste and she strikes a race where the depth isn’t overly deep.

2 Running By (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat option. Maher/Eustace mare that is three weeks between runs since leading throughout to win over 1500m at Randwick. She was ridden a touch upside down and she was there to be run down but she found, kept finding and was too good. Good racing style, genuine, progressive…she’ll do me.

6 Piaggio (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat for Greg Eurell. He ran a fortnight back at Flemington where he attempted to lead throughout and he gave a very strong kick under Gaudray but he couldn’t quite see it through when a close up third to Suparazi. He can be hit and miss given he did buck here the start prior, but with his best, he can take this out.

8 Typhoon Harmony (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been up a little while but he is a model of consistency. Peter Gelagotis trains this gelding, who ran in the Suparazi race from two weeks back at Flemington. I thought he was given a 12/10 by McNeil and presented to win in the straight but just didn’t have the finale to put them away. Not sure I could back him to win but a must for exotics.

5 Lazy Susan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. This mare comes to town off the back of a win on her home track at Cranbourne where she was given a peach steer behind the speed before angling clear and finished best to score. Gets run of the race from the draw and is in well after the claim.

2 Extratwo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented mare for Maher/Eustace that resumes. This girl did nice things when last in work, highlighted by an outstanding wins at Sandown (one of those wins disqualified). Jumpout work has been more than encouraging and she does have an element of class. Just watch the market and see what it does.

4 Juice Box (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Rebecca Kelly and with a good racing style, I think she’s in with a shout. She produced sustained speed from the front when winning over 1000m at Stony Creek last time, leading throughout and giving nothing else a look in to win and win quite well. The end of 1200m at this level is a slight query but with her racing pattern, she’ll give herself every chance.

1 Mankayan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be in for a really good prep and should take beating. He resumed in the Lord Stakes at Caulfield, getting a fair way out of his ground but he motored late in an excellent return when a narrow second to stablemate Zennzella. Fitter, he should take holding out against this lot.

3 Independent Road (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the leader and will give cheek. He did that three weeks ago in the Coastal Classic at Geelong and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Holymanz. That form does read well and up in trip should be fine for him, especially with the lead there for the taking.

4 Bellaciaociao (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Annabel Neasham trained imported mare who has had three Australian runs, the last two being absolute howlers, though last time at Geelong when resuming, she was wide throughout. Maps to get a much better run in transit and her French form is good enough to threaten.

4 Kailash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been up a little while but he’s holding his form really well. Nick Ryan trained gelding that ran a few weeks back at Geelong. He had the dream run in transit and presented to win the race but couldn’t quite get there when second to surprise winner Wertheimer. Yet to tick the box beyond 2040m so this trip suits. Hard to beat.

7 Fretta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like she will eat up 2040m for Price/Kent. She ran over 1700m three weeks ago at Geelong where she was one paced when McNeil asked for the big effort but she stayed on and was more than sound in defeat behind Regal Zeus. The rise in trip looks ideal, she has good upside to come and seemingly strikes a winnable race.

3 Miss Tarzy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is unbeaten in three runs this time in for Team Freedman and is one of the leading contenders. Her last two starts have come at The Valley 2040m. She got into a lovely run and looked the winner a long way out. She angled clear air and she got better as the race went on to win and win well. Good test here, but confident she measures up.

1 Philosopher (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems to save his best for The Valley so returning here off a break, he should take beating. He has won three on the bounce, the latest at this track/distance where he was very impressive in producing sustained speed from the front, giving nothing else a look in. Harder here, but good racing style, he’s flying and will be hard to get past.

2 Shirshov (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a speed demon for Julien Welsh that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Sep 29 when a strong winner over 955m here when on speed and he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Jumpout work leading in has been strong, he’ll land on speed and be strong at the end. Watch the market and see what it does.

3 Magic Max (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will need luck getting clear but if he does get room to move to launch late, he can win. He ran two weeks back at Murray Bridge where he got just off the speed and made up minor ground in a solid effort behind Wolflands. He was ridden perhaps a touch close there so I think ridden cold here, he can run an improved race.

3 Recommendation (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency for Maher/Eustace and commands respect. He tried his guts out in the Canterbury Classic, sitting on speed throughout, but just didn’t have the finale of Insurrection, who was impressive in winning. Good racing style, better for the recent run under the belt, he appeals.

1 Crosshaven (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a definite winning threat I feel. He ran down the Flemington straight a fortnight back in the Standish and he tried his guts out but was simply no match for a potential Group l animal, Sghirripa. He’ll be strong at the end of 1200m and if they can run on from off the speed, he’ll take running down.

5 Snapper (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with his best…just not sure where is at, but he finds a track that does suit his racing pattern. He ran in the Standish at Flemington where he was on sped but was one of the first beat and was a bit on the plain side behind Sghirripa. If he brings his best, he is dangerous at a likely decent price.

2 Bellinger (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Team Hayes since racing over 1100m at Geelong where he got back to near last in the run and in a race dominated by those in the first few, he was very good the way he closed off late in the piece behind Rey Magnerio. Fitter and up in trip, good second up record, he appeals.

6 Pereille (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came two weeks ago at Rosehill where he got the inside split and looked the winner, only to be bloused late by a brilliant finale from Union Army, who had all the momentum out wide and was too good. He’ll take good improvement from that and is a winner at the track, so he appeals as one of the hardest to beat.

7 Squad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be around the mark for Team Hawkes. This guy is three weeks between runs since racing over 1100m at Randwick when near the speed and kept finding the line in a good effort behind Shaken, running second. Third up, so he should be hard fit and with an on speed racing style, appeals.
