26/12/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Randwick, Summer Cup day

Boxing Day racing in Sydney heads to Randwick, headlined by the Summer Cup (2000m). Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out eight metres for the entire circuit.

5 Konsa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be favourite, and a clear favourite. I am quite keen on his prospects. He was a real eye catcher on debut at Canterbury before going to Warwick Farm where I am convinced he goes close if he didn’t have to dodge the ill fated Ichiban Koji. He’ll love 1600m at Randwick, time to wind up…keen.

2 Man Of Worth (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat, but shouldn’t be favourite. He had every chance last Friday at Canterbury but couldn’t reel in all the way winner Hereward. He should be better suited at Randwick, hard fit and gets in well after the claim.

11 Not So Casual (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after a debut over 1200m at Kembla. She got back to near last in the run and was never really threatening behind Li’l Grug. Better for the run and up in trip, claim…one for exotics.

11 Miss Supernova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an each way speck here for me. Ryan/Alexiou trained filly that was kept quite safe in betting when debuting over 1100m at Canterbury. She landed on speed pretty comfortably I front and did try hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. Tick over trial was pretty good and this doesn’t appear to be a deep contest so she’ll do me each way.

5 Makhachev (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after a debut placing over 1300m on the Kenso. He got into a reasonable spot in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Better for the run and with a kind map in his corner, he only runs well.

1 Agraffe Rocket (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Graff colt that debuts for Kris Lees. He has had a couple of trials this time in to get ready for start one and for the most part has looked pretty good to the eye. Maps to do no work and the good lead is that he debuts in town vs at the Provincial level.

10 Movie Night (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the debut run, which came on the Kenso here. She just found them a bit sharp but she stayed on and was far from disgraced. Fitter, bigger track, 1400m, she commands respect.

6 Cellarmaster (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was kept quite safe in betting when resuming on the Kenso. He was chasing from a fair way out and while safely held, he was far from disgraced in defeat. Fitter, can settle closer, dangerous.

13 Tinklejazz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t been too bad in two career outings for Team Archibald, the latest being over 1250m at Canterbury when off speed and worked home with real purpose when second to Airworthy. Like her up to 1400m, can settle closer and be effective late.

5 Beside The Ocean (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Chris Waller trained filly that resumes. She had a two run Winter prep, the second run seeing her bolt up on heavy ground at Warwick Farm. Trialled well, maps to do no work, she’s a key threat.

3 Stormland (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy galloper that resumes for Ciaron Maher, having not raced since Aug 27 when placing on the Kenso behind the well performed Prestar. Couple of strong trials under the belt, there is intent there to say he runs well.

6 Da Snoop Dog (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. There was a lot to like about his debut win at the Sunny Coast, leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in. Interesting placement but I do think he has talent.

2 Power Of The Brave (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an on speed short course type that is suited at 1000m. He was on speed over 1000m at Canterbury last time out and tried hare but felt the pinch late behind Columbia Blue. He’ll run a beauty against these.

1 Silentstar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Ryan/Alexiou trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since the early part of the Spring when a winner at Canterbury on heavy ground. Just one soft trial for the return but has a touch of quality vs these. Market will be the guide.

3 Unique Ambition (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for John Sargent and bears close watching. She hasn’t raced since the Sapphire in the Autumn when first up and didn’t fire a shot behind Infancy. Been given a good break and her trial work has been quite encouraging so watch betting.

8 Sequista (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has finally got the maiden win on the board and she can certainly go on with it. Not sure she beat much at Gosford last time to break the maiden status but the manner in which she put them away was just so damn impressive, winning by a space. Her confidence is up, she can win again.

12 Chix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1300m and comes straight to town off the back of a debut win over 1250m on the Beaumont track at Newcastle when on speed and trucking before being clicked up and she was strong to the line in winning. Keen to see how she goes.

1 Super Bright (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. She ran over this trip at Rosehill three weeks back when off speed and chasing but kept on and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Bella Corazon. Tricky draw but looks to be a chance with luck in running.

6 Touristic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a great each way speck at odds. He resumed in the Festival where he was back near last in the run and in a race dominated on speed, he was never a threat. But, his last 50m and through the line was good. Loved the tick over trial and yes, he’ll need luck, but you’re getting a price to find out if he can get that luck.

3 Major Beel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a big priced winner of the ATC Cup but he was fancied at a price. He got into a sweet spot just off the speed before angling clear and was impressive in the run to the line. 2000m off a mini freshen up should be no issue, he’s hard to beat.

5 Tavi Time (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won the race last year and although he is hard to catch, I think he is on track. He comes through The Ingham where he got back to near last in the run and was good late without threatening. Like him up to 2000m, can settle closer and be effective late.

18 Automne Tree (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top in the get out. Chris Waller trained galloper that comes back to 1300m after racing over 1500m at Rosehill last start when just off speed and presented to win but just found one better in a driving go when second to Mortal Halo. Gets right down in the weights after the claim, he’s in the mix.

10 Cross Tasman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is progressive and heading in the right direction for O’Shea/Charlton after a first up win on the Kenso, getting the suck run in transit just off speed before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win well. Hard to beat.

12 Starboard (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Freedman trained gelding that resumed over 1250m on the Kenso where he got back in the run and made up good headway but was never threatening. Better for the run, can settle closer and be effective late.

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 10 Movie Night

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 6 Touristic
