ALICE SPRINGS
Race ONE- Number One Casino Exit
One of the better juveniles in Alice Springs, he should get punters away to a winning start on Cup day. He has won two of his three starts. He won last start after seemingly looking beat at the 600m before picking up the bit and forging clear over the final 100m. He doesn’t meet a strong field here with the raced horses not showing much and the others are on debut. I suspect he’ll be short but he’ll be winning comfortably.
Race Nine- Number Twelve Robdon Flyer
Former Mick Kent runner who has had three runs on this track now for one forgettable run and two good placings, especially last start in the traditional Alice Springs Cup prelude when he settled in a lovely spot before easing to the outside and just failing to pick up Agarkar. He has plenty of upside and is getting more familar with the surface and style of racing. He can turn the tables on Agarker and claim the Cup in what looks to be one of the best Cup fields assembled.
IPSWICH
Race Three- Number Two Bob And Dolly
Produced a superb first up win on the Cushion track when sitting three deep on the speed and fighting on like a dog to hold off his rivals. He is drawn much better this time and rises 100m in distance which will suit him down to the ground. The track is a Slow6 and he has won and placed on a heavy track in his last campaign. He raced alongside the likes of Sweepstaking and Temple Of Boom last time in so he does have a touch of class and he will take a power of beating here.
Race Six- Number Four Flordia Fellow
Has had the two starts for an even debut run when leading and fading late before and a brave second when he flew out in front and was grabbed on the line by the handy Show A Prince. From an ideal barrier he should spear to the front and at the tight Ipswich circuit, that may prove to be vital in the finish. He has talent, maybe a bit more than what he is up against here. Amber’s Crown will more than likely be favourtie so the price of Florida Fellow should be good for us. Hopefully the Anabaa colt can cling on to victory.
