Morphettville will play host to a nine event meeting on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is heavy (8) and the rail is out eight metres from the 1200m-Winning Post; Out five metres for the remainder.

Race 1. (12:02) Weslo Security (Bm64) 1100m
I’m with 1 No Drama (Bet Now: $1.75), a former Kiwi that makes his Australian debut for Lindsey Smith. His lone run came over 800m at Riccarton back in January where he spanked them, but those 800m races at Riccarton, they can be taken with a grain of salt. But, he has jumped out well and finds a thin race.
2 The Guava (Bet Now: $7.50) is a promising animal for Patrick Payne. He ran fourth to Winning Revolution at Sale before going to Casterton where he got stronger as the race went on and was impressive in winning. The rise in trip looks ideal and from the inside gate, he won’t be far away. hard to beat.
7 Tapinforpar (Bet Now: $6.50) is a watch horse. Debuts for the Richards/Moyle camp off the back of a sharp jumpout win here. He then went to the Murray Bridge Poly, trialled there and led throughout to spank them, though the time was nothing flash and he was pushed out, so I’d watch the market and see what it does.
Race 2. (12:37) The Junction (Bm64) 1200m
1 Kenyan Wonder (Bet Now: $12.00) is a talented mare who can certainly take this out. She contested the Outlaws Revenge race from a fortnight back on the Parks track and she just never got involved given the race shape so I am forgiving of that run. Better suited on the course proper, I’m giving her another look.
9 Night Hussler (Bet Now: $14.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Lloyd Kennewell but now finds herself with Phillip Stokes. This girl hasn’t raced since January 13 when a close up fourth at Pakenham. Given a good break and I thought she trialled up really well at Murray Bridge. Market will be the guide.
3 Kayseri (Bet Now: $8.00) commands respect. Resumed two weeks ago over 1000m on the Parks track where he chased strongly from off the speed, trying to take ground off Fighting McLaren, but that horse packed too many punches late and was too good. Fitter, he’s a winning threat.
Race 3. (13:12) Leconfield (Bm78) 2500m
10 Ourkhani (Bet Now: $12.00) should love the rise to 2500m. Team Jolly trained gelding that ran over 2250m on the Parks track two weeks ago where he got back in the run and made up good ground late when third to Capricorn Ridge. He was only third up so you’d think there is room for improvement and is proven at the trip.
5 Reflect The Stars (Bet Now: $4.40) has come back in good order for Danny O’Brien. Pass mark for sure fresh at Caulfield behind Grandslam before going to Flemington where she hit the front and looked home in a fast run race but was nabbed late by Pesto, who had a suck run out the back and finished best. Hard fit now, she’ll take beating.
6 Capricorn Ridge (Bet Now: $8.00) is racing in a real purple patch at the moment for Matty Seyers. Thought Neindorf gave him a peach steer when winning on the Parks track last time, getting the suck run behind the speed and saved enough in the tank for what was a slogging finale. Up to 2500m no issue and hard to knock the way he’s racing.
Race 4. (13:47) George Page Memorial (Bm68) 1200m
11 Legless Lady (Bet Now: $4.80) should take beating here for the Macdonald/Gluyas camp. Looked a good thing on paper two weeks ago in a maiden on the Parks track, the market agreed and Stubby made sure she was a good thing, riding her so and she gapped them. She’s well and truly city class and she can go on with it.
6 Star Espresso (Bet Now: $7.50) is hit and miss at times but her best sees her measure up, as seen a fortnight back when an impressive winner on the Parks track, which followed a plain return at Murrat Bridge. Hard to follow and trust with confidence, but she commands respect off last start.
2 Our Heidi (Bet Now: $10.00) is a Phillip Stokes trained filly that did run a game third to Passive Aggressive two back. She then went to the Synthetic at Pakenham when ridden cold and was good late in the piece. Wet track looks ideal for her and with luck from the gate, she can win.
Race 5. (14:22) Fleurieu Milk Company (Bm60) 1524m
11 En Francais (Bet Now: $5.00) is a promising mare for Jake Stephens that has returned in pretty good order. Resumed four weeks ago over 1200m at Murray Bridge and was a real eye catcher from near last on the turn when a closing third to Hateech. Fitter and up to 1500m, if she’s within range, she’s the one to beat.
2 Another Rally (Bet Now: $4.60) comes to SA for Patrick Payne off the back of a debut win at Mildura. Did he beat much? I’m saying no, but he gave them a spanking and won as if it was a barrier trial. Tick over trial at Tatura was solid enough and with the gate, I think he’ll get good cover and launch late.
16 Garrire (Bet Now: $18.00) is a threat. Richards/Moyle trained gelding that showed good ticker on speed to win at Murray Bridge last time out. He was there to be run down but found plenty when asked to fend them off and win. Overall, this isn’t a strong race, so he’s got to be in here as a key threat.
Race 6. (14:57) Happy 40Th Ben Arezina (Bm86) 1200m
Hard to get away from 1 Outlaws Revenge (Bet Now: $5.00). He ran two weeks ago on the Parks track where I thought he was a good thing on paper but the market took a set against him. #They got it wrong because he sat on a solid speed, took the lead soon upon straightening and gave nothing else a look in. Extra weight no issue, he’s clearly the one to beat.
10 Munster (Bet Now: $5.00) has had two runs off a mini freshen up. Strong winner two back on the course proper at Morphettville before going to Murray Bridge where he was nearer the inside and I don’t think that was the right spot to be so forgiving his effort behind Calypso Reign. In form, he can bounce back.
6 Extreme Thrill (Bet Now: $12.00) is a talented animal for the Francis/Kent team that commands respect. Resumed over this trip four weeks back at Murray Bridge and was very good late in the piece behind a very much in form Calypso Reign. Saves his best for this track and has good upside.
Race 7. (15:35) Grand Syndicates (Bm80) 1600m
4 Noname Lane (Bet Now: $3.10) has found winning form and I think he can hold it. Just looked in need of the first two runs for the prep. Third up came two weeks ago on the Parks track where he was ridden positively up in trip and the end result was a pretty dominant win. He can go on with it now.
2 Jaguary (Bet Now: $9.00) loves getting his toe in so he wants this track to cop rain between now and Saturday. He got those conditions two back and won, producing a big finale late. He then backed up a week later on a firmer deck and was okay behind Noname Lane, but nowhere near as effective compared to seven days prior. A threat on a Soft track. Very hard to beat on heavy. Weather is crucial.
6 Lake’s Folly (Bet Now: $9.00) is sneaky flying for Michael Hickmott. On the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at Murray Bridge and was very good late in the piece behind Aiguilette. Has a fab record at the track and down in the weights, he’ll only run well at odds.
Race 8. (16:15) Furphy (Bm68) 1050m
1 Fighting McLaren (Bet Now: $2.90) is the straight bat option. Resumed two weeks ago on the Parks track and had the pattern in his corner, but he was there to be run down. Loved the way he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Proven weight carrier and has a class edge.
5 Aston Rapova (Bet Now: $10.00) is five weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he found a hot 72 and was okay late without threatening behind a future Group l horse, Extremely Lucky. Fresh legs and miles back in grade/depth, his best is clearly good enough.
11 Grand Host (Bet Now: $26.00) is a knockout hope. Was 1200m back to 1000m two weeks back when racing on the Parks track and was very good late from off the speed behind Fighting McLaren. I think getting to the bigger track is a big tick and if he’s within range, he can certainly take this out.
Race 9. (16:52) Charles Melton Wine Lunch-Bm68 1800m
14 All Hard Wood (Bet Now: $26.00) is the each way bet for me here. He wasn’t too bad late two back behind Jaamit before racing over 1550m two weeks ago on the Parks track and I thought he was a real eye catcher late when third to Unlaced. Hard fit now and up to 1800m, I think he’ll only run well.
13 Prince Of Fences (Bet Now: $6.00) is suited up in trip for Michael Hickmott. Resumed over 1550m on the Parks track three weeks ago where he was near the speed throughout and gave a really strong kick when asked by Eaton but he couldn’t quite finish it off when second to Tubby Two Tracks. Fitter and up in trip, expect improvement.
9 Trumpsta (Bet Now: $21.00) is usually around the mark in these kind of races. Ran in the Unlaced race from a fortnight back on the Parks track and he closed off his race nicely despite never being a threat when fifth to the Hickmot runner. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll be strong late.
