Race 1. (14:49) The Sharron & Julie Celebration Plate 1000m
1 All On Red (Bet Now: $SP.00) did everything right when a debut winner two weeks ago, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win comfortably, running solid enough time. Drawn wide but will press forward and the depth here isn’t much stronger IMO.
The market said that 2 Texan Dream (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a good thing when debuting a fortnight back here but he was a rogue in being loaded into the gates and I reckon ran his race there and then. If he behaves, he can win.
3 Tigerland (Bet Now: $SP.00) will be a nice horse in time for Neville Parnham. He was down the track two weeks back but he got a mile out of his ground and was good late, clocking good late splits. He’s right in the mix I say.
Race 2. (15:24) Guinness (Bm66+) 1600m
2 First Encounter (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1400m here two weeks ago. He got back to near last in the run in a race dominated on speed and was very good late, clocking race best splits. Fitter and up in trip, can settle closer, hard to beat.
4 Be Bardot (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 1400m here. He got a fair way out of his ground and while he made up headway, he was never really threatening. Like him up in trip and he can bounce back.
1 Simply (Bet Now: $SP.00) can run an improved race. He resumed two weeks back here behind Bruce Almighty over 1400m when off speed and just didn’t have the change up speed to go with them late. Likely has eyes on the Perth Cup so may need time but he does have a touch of quality.
Race 3. (15:59) Tabtouch (Rs0ly) 1200m
2 Surfside Session (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a tough all the way winner over 1100m here two weeks ago. Credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off. Good racing style and is starting to build up a solid overall record.
4 Kraken Time (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1100m here two weeks ago when off speed and worked home with purpose when second to Surfside Session. Like the extra 100m for him, he’ll be around the mark.
6 American Escape (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Dan Morton trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since June 18 when down the track and looking a tired horse at Bunbury. Given a good break, trialled well and does get Pike aboard.
Race 4. (16:36) Morley Growers Market (Rs0ly) 1800m
11 Mississippi Dawn (Bet Now: $SP.00) is hard to beat here for Michael Grantham after racing two weeks ago at this track/distance when a mile back in the run but made a stack of ground in an eye catching effort when third. If she can settle closer, or be within range, she’ll take holding out.
8 Capable Angel (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a total forgive from a fortnight back at this track/distance behind Old Mate Henry. She was wide no cover, pulling hard, and rightfully dropped out to finish down the track. Prior efforts were good, certainly good enough to give this a shake.
6 Romantic Ruler (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after racing two weeks back over the mile here when off speed and seemingly had his chance but was still solid in defeat behind Wembanyama. Not sure he is good enough to win but is a must for exotics.
Race 5. (17:19) Johnny Fox's (Rs1mw) 1000m
6 Rolling Ruler (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be winning here. He’s a promising animal who was impressive when a debut winner before going to Bunbury where he was a real eye catcher from the back when second. If within range, I think he’ll be too strong for them late.
9 Flying Frankie (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a big improver I say. He resumed a fortnight back in the Max Simmonds when given little hope with the ride and was never really a factor. Maps well, Pike to steer, I’d say watch betting and see what it does.
8 Last Stylebender (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Mitch Pateman trained gelding that resumes. He has more than enough talent to measure up against these and stable can get them ready first up. He’s a definite yard and market watch.
Race 6. (18:05) Bisley Workwear (Bm78+) 1000m
5 Kay Tee Why (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a smart sprinter for Adam Durrant. Whether he can run 1200m in time, not sure, but 1000m is his sweet spot and his track/distance win from two weeks ago when giving them a start and a beating was impressive. Have to be with him.
I love Chanel Cooper but she got this awfully wrong on 1 Ginnivan (Bet Now: $SP.00) a fortnight back. Just didn’t give the horse any chance whatsoever and he dropped out. Good racing style, he can bounce back hard.
3 Ghost Who Walks (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran down the track behind Kay Tee Why two weeks back. He got off speed and had his chance to wind up but just whacked to the line. He does seem more effective at Belmont vs here but he has won here before. First four threat.
Race 7. (18:37) South African Airways (Bm66+) 2100m
4 Antique Star (Bet Now: $SP.00) is bursting to win and I think she gets a great chance here. She ran two weeks ago over 2200m here when off speed before being presented clear air and looked the winner but had to settle for second. Has the right form, trip is fine, the one to beat.
2 I Love Your Smile (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since the Kalgoorlie Cup where she had earned a crack at that level but didn’t quite measure up in a plain effort. Big tick for her is Pike back on, so she can bounce back.
11 My Mate (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 2100m after racing two weeks back over 1800m here when getting off the pace but liked the way he finished his race off behind the in form Old Mate Henry. Brings different form and has scope.
Race 8. (19:12) Mca Polytrack (Bm72+) 1400m
6 September Born (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top in what looks a good race. He resumes, having not raced since the WA Guineas where he pulled up lame in a clear forgive behind Storyville. Given a good break and his recent trial looked sharp. If he’s ready to go, I’m confident he can meausre up.
1 Opportunistic (Bet Now: $SP.00) was backed as if unbeatable when resuming over this track/distance two weeks ago but the race shape worked against him and although he made up a stack of headway, he was never threatening. If within range, he could easily blow them away.
9 Asphalt (Bet Now: $SP.00) is flying. He rises significantly in grade/depth but it was hard not to like his track/distance first up win two weeks back when wide no cover and he just kept finding under pressure. He can run first four.
Race 9. (19:50) Belgravia Stakes 1200m
2 King Of Light (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks the main hope for the three year olds when it comes to the Northerly. He resumes after a two run juvenile prep, winning both starts and each time looked well above average. If he’s ready to go, he should be too good for these here, in the Guineas and measure up in the Northerly.
1 Talkanco (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a ripping filly that steps up to 1200m after a first up win in the Max Simmonds two weeks ago, sitting off speed before angling clear and finished best to score. Good test here, but she has runs on the board and is fitter.
4 Mardusa (Bet Now: $SP.00) has the 1200m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead. That came two weeks back here when off speed and worked home well when third to Playinit Sweet. Fitter…lacks the class but is a must for exotics.
Race 10. (20:25) Peters Investments (Rs1mw)
12 Statewide (Bet Now: $SP.00) could put his hand up for the WA Guineas with another win. Loved his return over 1300m where he got better as the race went on to win impressively. He’s a good horse sand confident he can put these away.
13 Nicciana (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes straight to town off the back of a first up maiden win at Northam last Thursday where he lobbed outside the speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Leading threat.
11 Kelora (Bet Now: $SP.00) is finding it hard to win but is racing well. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a good effort when second to Asphalt. Not sure he wins but can run top four.
