Belmont will play host to a nine race card on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

1 Forever Dreaming (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready to win. Third up from a spell for Colin Webster, she should just about be ready to go. Ran over 1400m here two weeks ago where she lobbed into a beaut spot behind the speed and was there to win but second up, I just think condition gave way late in the piece when third to Ruling Dame. Unknown at 1600m but I think with a soft run in transit, I think she’ll be fine.

4 Ruling Dame (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the key threat. Dan Morton trained mare that won the race mentioned above from a fortnight back. She sat near last in the field of seven before being presented clear air and she let down with purpose late in the piece to win impressively. Failed at the mile previously but is going much better this time around. Hard to beat.

3 Hoist The Colours (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a horse that could pinch a first four spot at a big price. He hasn’t raced since July 29 over 2200m when struggling on the bottomless deck, finishing down the track behind noted swimmer The Dominican. Fresh legs and back to the mile, firmer footing…doubt he wins, but is one for exotics at a big price.

1 Madam Kisses (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat option. Donna Riordan trains this mare, who resumed at this track/distance two weeks ago where she got into a dream spot behind the speed and presented to win the race in the straight. Just couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Paddy’s Flyin. Gets into a nice spot from the gate here and the depth is on the thin side.

2 Pacific Boxer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been pretty good in two runs back from a spell for Gino Poletti. Resumed over 1200m here and did more than enough fresh behind Ponyo before going to the Paddy’s Flyin race from a fortnight back where he appreciated coming back to 1000m and worked home well. Hard fit now, he appeals.

3 So Likable (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Demerit that resumes for Hayden Ballantyne. This guy is first up, having not raced since May 11 when ending a poor prep with a down the track effort at York. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and his recent trial was an encouraging piece of work so keen to see how he goes. Watch the market.

1 Auspicious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me in an open 3YO contest. Stephen Miller trained filly that has had two runs back from a spell, winning fresh over 1000m before going to the same track/distance where she wasn’t as dynamic but was far from disgraced in defeat Oscar’s Fortune. 1200m is the query but I think with an economical run, a drag into the race, she’ll be effective.

4 Big Player (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Performer for Luke Fernie that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since June 24 over 1000m here when on speed and seemingly was moving well but when asked for an effort, he didn’t find a great deal and was a bit on the plain side behind Hanchi. Resumes without a public trial but good lead that Pike is booked fresh.

5 Barney’s World (Bet Now:  $SP.00) deserves a look here for Luke Fernie. He has been kept on ice, having not raced since August 5 here when on speed and was there to win but couldn’t quite finish the race off when fourth to Ginnivan. Not sure he is good enough to win but with his racing pattern, he’ll give himself every chance.

3 Californication (Bet Now:  $SP.00) deserves another chance. He’s a good horse from the Provincials that was 1300m to 1600m when racing here two weeks ago. He had a nice run in transit behind the speed but it was a race set up for the swoopers, so he was run down late. He has that 1600m run under the belt now and should just about be hard fit, so he clearly appeals here.

6 Central Force (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Michael Grantham. He did more than enough fresh behind Flash Max. He then raced over 1700m here just over two weeks ago where he was probably ridden a bit too close to the speed and that left him empty late in the piece behind Fine Touch. Back to the mile, Pike is on…big improver.

5 Mystery Moment (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Susan Olive trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since July 12 at Sandown over 2100m when just fair and perhaps didn’t quite see the trip out behind Angel Of Light. She is a mare who is a bomb when produced fresh and overall, this isn’t a deep race. Watch the market.

Fresh legs and back miles in grade/depth, I am in the corner of 2 Colossal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for Team Williams. This gelding is six weeks between runs since racing over 1200m here when back and wide in the run, trying to get involved but was on the plain side late in the piece behind the very much in form mare Duchess Of Gossip. Much better set up this time around, happy to be in his corner.

6 Scenic Eclipse (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong this time in and is one of the key chances. This mare is several weeks between runs since racing over 1200m here where she got into a nice spot behind the speed and was there looming to win but couldn’t quite finish it off when second to Rulelee. Tricky gate to overcome but hard to knock the way she’s going.

5 The Republican (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip. This gelding ran over 1200m here two weeks back where he just found them a bit sharp but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off behind Valency. From the gate, he’ll do no work in the run…not sure he is good enough to win but can snare a first four spot.

1 Split Jete (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning but not really a race I want to get involved in. He won four on the bounce, including a first up win here. He raced here again three weeks ago and was a bit on the plain side behind Berbere, who would be odds on in a race like this. He has runs on the board to say he deserves another chance.

3 Sketta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it. Fred Kersley trained mare that had a long run of outs but that all changed at Northam last time, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display, defying a notable betting drift. She has run well in town before and the depth here is on the thin side.

7 Wakan Tanka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is eight years of age and is getting on but is an honest type that could pinch a first four spot. Neville Parnham trained gelding that ran over this track/distance last time where he was keen in the box seat and I reckon that took something away from his finale behind Ruling Dame. Not sure I could back him to win but is a first four contender.

1 Valency (Bet Now:  $SP.00) saves her best for Belmont and I think the way she’s racing at the moment, she’s a relatively safe option. Market wanted her with confidence when racing over 1200m here two weeks ago and the ride from McNaught was a peach, having the mare just off the speed and ready to pounce. Once she got clear, it was race over and she gapped them. Hard to get away from her.

2 Holy Ghost (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is sneaky flying for Neville Parnham. He comes through the Coolgardie Sprint at Kalgoorlie where you can make a case to say that if he got clear air early, he wins the race instead of a fast finishing fifth to Men’s Club, who led throughout. Yet to win in 22 starts at Belmont but off last run, he can take this out.

7 Zero Demerits (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is ten years of age but is still racing with a decent amount of zest. He ran two weeks back over 1300m here when back on the fence and tried to make headway but was never really a factor behind the very much in form Red Fifty Three. The depth here isn’t as deep so I think at odds, he can be a big improver.

7 Aztec Ruler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can potentially put his hand up for a crack at the Railway with a win here. Promising animal for Stefan Vahala that is three weeks between runs since a dominant win over 1400m here, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display, letting down with real purpose for a sharp victory. Unknown at the mile but he is racing like he will eat it up. Keen.

1 Jadavi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) potentially has eyes on the Perth Cup and off the return, she is ticking along beautifully. This mare was unwanted in betting two weeks ago in the Farnley but despite the large SP, she ran a ripping race from the back, closing off and producing decent late splits when second to Searchin’ Rocs. Good improvement to come, Pike takes over…she only runs well.

4 Neufbosc (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to the mile for Neville Parnham. This guy comes through the Farnley from two weeks back where he was a bit one paced in the run to the line but he stuck on and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Searchin’ Rocs. Not sure I could back him to win but he is a must for exotics.

It’s hard to get away from 2 Red Fifty Three (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for Team Williams. He has won three of his past four, the last start coming two weeks ago here over 1300m when getting into a sweet spot behind the speed before angling into clear air late and Pike drove hard to get the gelding home in a beaut ride. Harder here, but gee it’s hard to knock the way he’s racing.

6 Vogue’s Choice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been up a while but gee Hayden Ballantyne has her flying. She put together three wins on the bounce before racing over 1000m here three weeks ago where she was on speed and gave a strong sight but couldn’t hold out the finale of Rumour Says, who was given a 12/10 by Pike. Back up to 1200m should be fine and with her racing style, she’ll give herself every chance.

4 Hint Of Mint (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a must for multiples. Neville Parnham trains this mare, who ran two weeks back over 1300m where she got into a beaut position just behind the speed and she tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Red Fifty Three. Honest mare that should be around the mark and is a first four contender.

BEST BET: Race Eight Number 7 Aztec Ruler

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 2 Red Fifty Three

LONG SHOT: Race Four Number 3 Californication
