Race 1. (14:04) Lawn Pride Australia Plate 1200m
2 Country God (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Neville Parnham after racing last Saturday over 1400m here. He got into a reasonable spot in transit and tried hard but had to settle for a second to My Authoritah. Back to 1200m is fine, hard fit, ideal map, he takes beating.
1 Castle Road (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after a first up win down the straight at Pinjarra over 1000m when class came to the fore and he was much too good. Good test here but with a class factor, he commands respect.
6 Two Time Charlie (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Playing God that is on debut for Hayden Ballantyne. He has had a couple of trials in readiness for the debut and each time he has looked pretty good. Bit of depth to this line up but he looks a nice horse so watch betting.
Race 2. (14:42) Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum (Rs0ly) 1000m
1 Hit The Jackpot (Bet Now: $SP.00) landed bets at odds when a first up winner here at the midweeks, chasing down the leader and despite doing a bit wrong late, he fended them off. Good racing style, has upside to come, genuine…each way play.
5 Go Go Grommet (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a short course specialist that will land in a decent spot and be around the mark, as seen at Northam last start and he was there to win but had to settle for a second to Immortal Bliss. Commands respect.
2 Paddy’s Flyin (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be given another chance for David Harrison after racing here last Wednesday where he got back off the speed and just never got involved when down the track. His best is good enough to be dangerous.
Race 3. (15:19) Jack Marks (Bm66+) 1000m
5 Empress Of India (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. She ran two weeks ago down the straight at Pinjarra when off speed and kept finding the line in defeat when fourth. Good track/distance record, strikes a winnable race, like her a lot against these.
2 Masamune (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes through the Mahdi Girl race from a fortnight back at Pinjarra. He got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but just lacked the finale to go with them late. His best is certainly good enough to threaten.
4 Earth God (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Team Gangemi trained galloper that sat on speed in the Mahdi Girl race from two weeks back at Pinjarra. He tried hard but was weak late. I think with a more patient steer, he can run a much improved race.
Race 4. (15:58) Beau Sovereign (Rs1mw) 1200m
2 Yorga Pride (Bet Now: $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Team Williams since a first up win over 1200m here, getting better as the race went on in an impressive return. Good test here against likely types but confident he can measure up against these.
Good test here for 1 Repeater (Bet Now: $SP.00) but hard to knock the way he’s racing, winning 3/3 this time in. Latest win came three weeks ago at Pinjarra, leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found. Keen to see how he goes.
4 Mean Feat (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes to town for Bec Wallrodt off the back of a track/distance win at the midweeks on May 6 when on speed and was trucking before taking the front and clung on late to fend them off and score. Not sure he wins, but can run first four.
Race 5. (16:34) Reg Treffone (Rs1mw) 1650m
12 Triple The Chant (Bet Now: $SP.00) is lightly raced and clearly heading in the right direction. She has won her last two, the latest being at this track/distance where she gave them a start and a beating in a very sharp performance. Good test here, but she’s a mare destined for better races. Keen.
7 Worcester (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a good record at the trip and comes to town off the back of a win last Thursday at Bunbury when a strong on speed victor, finding plenty late when challenged. Good racing style, he’ll be around the mark.
1 Idyllic Ruler (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Jim Taylor trained gelding that ran two weeks back at Pinjarra when near the speed and he died hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Not sure he is good enough to win but can run top four.
Race 6. (17:10) Damian Lane (Bm66+) 1400m
8 Terratif (Bet Now: $SP.00) has done little wrong in two runs back from a spell and should prove hard to beat. Latest run was three weeks ago at Pinjarra when off speed and worked home with real purpose late when second to Spectacular Park. Third up, hard fit, she’ll do me.
4 Hostile Talk (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after racing a fortnight back at Pinjarra over 1300m when off speed and was forced to make the run nearer the inside, which wasn’t the spot to be. Convinced he’s racing really well and can win if the breaks go his way.
9 God’s Gate (Bet Now: $SP.00) is capable with his best but he can be a hard horse to follow. He ran here four weeks back and struggled on the shifty track behind Yorga Pride. If he brings his best, he can threaten at odds.
Race 7. (17:50) Idyllic Prince Stakes 1300m
7 Fluro Neuro (Bet Now: $SP.00) for me. Was liking him when he resumed in the Belmont Newmarket but I’m not sure he was there to win given Chloe Azzopardi took a long time to get stuck into him, driving hard late to just miss. Fitter and up in trip off a super return, he will do me.
10 Wind And The Lion (Bet Now: $SP.00) got a 12/10 by Pike to win the Bolton Sprint five weeks ago at Bunbury, ducking and weaving his way through the field before getting clear and finished best to score. Off that effort, he’ll take beating here.
8 Rokanori (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Team Gangemi trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since May 10 over 1400m at Ascot when never really a factor behind Siberian Siren, who was flying at the time. Trialled well, decent enough fresh record…watch betting.
Race 8. (18:20) Vernon Brockman (Bm72+) 1200m
9 Shmoov Moova (Bet Now: $SP.00) can bounce back for Simon Miller. He resumed three weeks ago at Pinjarra and just didn’t seem 100% happy on the shifty track so I am being forgiving. He has runs on the board and should get a firmer deck. He can bounce back hard.
8 Want A Winner (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very progressive animal for Team Casey that comes here with fresh legs, four weeks between runs since a strong off speed win here. There is depth to this line up but he is a beauty.
7 Sonoftheboss (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a big improver I say. He resumed three weeks back at Pinjarra when back with cover and did make up headway behind Keep Attacking but he was never really a factor. More positive ride, he can take this out.
