6 Scorpion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the straight bat play in the opener. Danny O’Brien trained gelding that ran over 1700m at Sale last time where he landed on speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Art N Soul. The draw is tricky but should slide forward and take beating in a thin maiden.

3 Ghazi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip after debuting over the mile at Pakenham. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up headway and was a pass mark in defeat behind Dark Simba. Like him up to 2000m and has more upside than most.

7 Sumo Sandy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a couple of runs at the mile and is racing like 2080m suits for Busuttin/Young. The latest run came here three weeks back when just off the speed and seemed to have his chance, just being a bit on the one paced side late in the piece. I think the rise in trip suits and he can threaten.

3 Mometz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the short side but he does look to have a bit on these. He resumed two weeks ago over 1200m here when last in the field of four before angling wider and finished with purpose but was no match late for Scorched Lane. The rise to 1400m is ideal and there is no horse with the quality of Scorched Lane engaged here.

4 Stylish Prince (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had two career outings, both of them at the mile. The latest run came at Kilmore when on speed throughout and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through, tiring late. Like him back to 1400m and with home track advantage, he appeals.

1 Benriach (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over 1700m at Sale last time where he did early work to lead and tried hard but just couldn’t quite run the trip out, so I like him back to 1400m and with a good racing style, he’s dangerous.

9 Night Flash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Team Hayes trains this juvenile, who resumes as a gelding. He has had two runs, both over 1100m at Geelong. The second run was in the Geelong Diamond when outclassed but far from disgraced in defeat behind Cherish Me. Gelded, trialled super and is suited back to 1000m.

6 Silent Shares (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for Gavin Bedggood and commands respect. She debuted over this trip at Moe on Dec 17 when off speed and spotted those in front a start but I really liked the way she closed off late in the piece. Jumpout work has been strong, she is a key chance.

5 Mystical Gem (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Shalaa that is on debut for Robbie Griffiths. She is having start one off the back of solid enough jumpout work where she hasn’t looked too bad to my eye so watch betting and see what it does.

6 Express Yo’Self (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me in what looks a two horse race. She resumed over this trip at Pakenham where she got a fair way out of her ground but loved the way she closed her race off in defeat behind Cora Lynn. If she can be within range on the turn, I think she has the finale to win.

2 Jahangir (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems suited at teh short course and appeals after two wins, both over this trip. First win was a maiden at Ballarat before going to Bendigo when on speed and credit to him, he was there to be beatem but he found under pressure to fend them off. Keen to see how he goes.

3 Manhattan Thunder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) shoud be better for the first up run, which came over this trip at Pakenham when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a good effort in defeat I thought behind Madame Maserati. 1/1 at Cranbourne, not dismissing him.

1 Behaviour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be taking care of these. Formerly with Chris Waller, his first run for Gavin Bedggood came over 1200m at Ballarat where he lobbed outside the speed and tried hard to reel them in but just couldn’t quite get there when third to Swift Circle. Fitter, depth nowhere near as deep, keen.

3 El Fortress (Bet Now:  $SP.00) would have to be getting close to going to the Inglis Online Sale because he jumpouts like Tarzan but races like Jane. He has been very plain in both runs back from a spelll but overall, this is a very weak maiden and I do think the rise to 1200m from 1000m will help his cause.

2 Brutal Force (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Brutal that resumes. He hasn’t fired a shot in two career outings but I will say he has looked to jump out well for the return and fresh at 1200m I do like so I say watch betting and see what it does.

1 Tessatori (Bet Now:  $SP.00) deserves another look for Dan Meagher. She resumed at Caulfield Heath where she had the suck run in behind and was there to threaten but she just whacked in the run to the line behind Tango Jewel. Fitter, back a fair way in depth, I think she can bounce back hard.

2 Impish Lady (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong this time in for Gavin Bedggood and commands respect. She has won her past two, bolting up two back to win her maiden at Geelong before going to Ballarat when near the speed and knuckled down with purpose to win. Home track advantage, she appeals.

6 Snick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for John Sadler, having not raced since April 26 at The Valley when outclassed but far from disgraced in defeat behind Excess. Much better suited at this level so I wouldn’t dismiss her.

3 Jaykayann (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks one of the better each way gambles on the program. Team Payne trained mare that resumed over the mile here two weeks ago where she got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, I really liked her finale in defeat behidn Chikado. Fitter, up in trip, she’ll be strong late, good upside, she appeals.

1 Blushing Tycoon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given respecet for Busuttin/Young. He won over 1800m at Caulfield Heath last time when on speed throughout and gee I liked the way he fought hard in the straight because he was there to be beaten but he found. 2080m is fine and he can win.

6 Ghetto Superstar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is just under two weeks back since racing over this trip at Caulfield. He got back to near last in the run and made up decent headway late without threatening behind Wonder Kid. Better suited at this level and he can threaten.

4 Butternut Princess (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run at Cranbourne when off speed and kept chasing but did seem to have her chance when third. She has city class talent and has upside so I wouldn’t dismiss her.

1 Santa Ana Moon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He resumed with a bang when winning at Sandown before going to Warrnambool when ridden off speed and kept chasing without threatening behind King Of Enterprise. That form does read well for this.

2 Highlands (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1300m after racing over 1400m at Pakenham where he landed on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through, feeling the pinch late behind King Of Enterprise, who has won again since. That reads well and has a good racing style.
