Night racing continues at Pakenham this Thursday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

5 Saltburn (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning but not a whole lot of confidence here. Corstens/Larkin trained gelding that has placed last time at Geelong when off speed and chased with purpose in the straight when second. Hard fit, maps perfect, rates highly.

1 Charm Noir (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate getting back up to 1600m after coming back to 1500m last time out at Bendigo when off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat. Like him back up in trip and is one of the hardest to beat I say.

9 Towntotown (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver for Julius Sanhu. She debuted over 1400m at Sale where she got a fair way out of her ground but didn’t mind the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Sunshine Jenni. Like her up to the mile and has more upside than most.

3 Never A Thought (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Colin Scott trained gelding that is on debut off the back of extensive jumpout work, dating back to June last year. He’s had two jumpouts under the belt this prep in readiness and has looked sharp each time. Not a deep race, so happy to be in his corner.

1 Botanical Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Super Seth that is on debut for Team Freedman. He’s had three jumpouts under the belt to get ready for start one, the latest piece of working coming last week at Caulfield Heath when placing and moving well to my eye. Keen to see how he goes.

2 Buvelot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Blue Point colt having his debut for Robbie Griffiths. He’s had the two jumpouts to get ready for the debut, the latest coming at Moe when placing. Not sure he has the ability of the first two, but watch betting and see what it does.

6 Planet Red (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a good mover for Price/Kent and I think he can make a winning debut. He has had two jumpouts under the belt to get ready for start one, the latest seeing him place over 800m at Cranbourne and moved quite well when second. Not a deep maiden this so happy to be in his corner.

4 Neverenoughlego (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1200m after resuming over 1000m at Caulfield Heath where he was quite keen in the run behind the speed and that early energy use took something away from his finale. Fitter and up in trip, he appeals.

8 Bella Pietra (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong in two career outings, placing each time. Latest came over this trip at Donald when leading and giving a decent kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Diamond Gust. Good racing style, she’s a must for exotics.

6 Nepela (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can make a winning debut for James Cummings. He has had two jumpouts this time in at Flemington to get ready for start one, the latest seeing him fourth and moved well enough to my eye. Stable can get them ready for the debut and this isn’t a deep contest.

11 Winning Winnie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is getting better with racing and appeals. Punched forward and tired late on debut at Bendigo before going to Mornington when ridden with a sit and she reacted, finding the line quite well in defeat behind Olive Baguette. Off last start, she’s right in the mix.

9 Champagne Wishes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Eminent that is first up for Price/Kent. She resumes, having not raced since her debut at Seymour back on July 2 last year when leading and tiring late when down the track behind Jazzclub. Trial/jumpout work has been encouraging, watch betting.

4 Bewitchery (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one to beat, and clearly. Corstens/Larkin trained filly that ran over 1200m at Caulfield Heath when wide with cover before peeling wider and finishing off her race strongly in defeat when a close up in defeat behind Miss Swift. Back to 1100m, back a fair way in grade/depth, she appeals.

6 Diamond Indaruf (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here for Matty Brown off the back of a maiden win at Bendigo where she landed on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Confidence is up, she can go on with it.

8 Deep Joy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing over 1100m at Seymour when wide no cover throughout and the early burn just told on her late when down the track. Gets in well after the claim and maps much better this time around.

4 Zouper Fund (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat play. Son of Zoustar for Ciaron Maher that steps up to 1200m after winning over 1000m at Sale last time, giving them a start and a beating in letting down with purpose late to score. If 1200m is fine, he’s the one they have to beat.

7 Jakivy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Ray Besanko and is one of the leading contenders after winning two on the bounce. Both of those wins have come at this track/distance, the latest win coming four weeks ago when on speed and credit to him, he had to knuckle down late and he did to win. Hard to ignore.

3 Scorch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1300m at Wangaratta last time. He was wide throughout and just couldn’t finish his race off, finishing down the track behind Three Musketeers. Like him back in trip and should get a more economical run in transit.

3 Indian Jewel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. She comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since April 5 over 1400m at Sandown when off speed and was beer really a factor behind Hughes. Good upside to come and her best is good enough to take this out.

5 Queen Of Tuscany (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for Robbie Griffiths. She has been runner up her past three, the latest coming at Cranbourne just under two weeks ago when off speed and chased strongly but found one better in Chakado. Good track/distance stats, she appeals.

10 Keane Enuff (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1000m here where he paraded big in condition and ran accordingly when near the speed and loomed but couldn’t quite get there when fifth to Egerton. On the quick back up and straight to 1400m, watch betting.

5 Platinum Destroyer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps in the get out. He resumed over 1400m at Bendigo and was one of the eye catchers of the meeting, closing off with purpose late in the piece from the back when fourth to Gin Baba. Fitter and up in trip, will get a drag into the race and launch late.

1 Peru (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous back to this level. He comes through the Mornington Guineas where he got back in the run and couldn’t get involved when down the track behind Movin Out. Blinkers back on and back to 64 grade, he appeals.

6 Royal Hill (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong this time in and commands respect. He led throughout to win his maiden at Seymour first up before going to Cranbourne where he took a sit and had his chance but stayed on and was sound in defeat. Definite threat.

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 5 Platinum Destroyer
