Race 1. (15:28) Mca Polytrack Plate 1100m
11 Loves Talking (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a good mover for Luke Fernie that I think can make a winning debut. This girl has had solid trial work in readiness for start one, the latest trial seeing her win over 400m at Belmont and seemed to move well enough to my eye. Tricky juvenile contest but happy to be in her corner.
1 Monte Tremezzo (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be respected off the back of a debut win here two weeks ago when giving them a start and a beating to win impressively, landing decent bets in the process after an average trial leading in. Looks to have an engine under the hood and can take this out.
3 Bundaberg (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the debut run, which came two weeks back here when on speed and fought hard but condition just gave way late when fourth to Monte Tremezzo. Better for the run under the belt, more patient steer, he can win.
Race 2. (16:03) Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum (Rs0ly) 1000m
1 Cessation (Bet Now: $SP.00) to produce sustained speed from the front and win. She ran three weeks ago over 1200m here when attempting to lead throughout and gave a good sight from the front but just died on the run when second to Just Saint James. Fresh legs and back to 1000m, she’ll take running down.
7 Tawkin Jibberish (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found winning form for Luke Fernie and commands respect off the back of a win last Wednesday at this track/distance, leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in to win and win well. Good racing style, off a win, commands respect.
2 Frantic War (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing over 1100m at Albany when off speed and held up at times but was just fair late in the piece behind Agent Jay. Like him back to 1000m with fresh legs and his best is good enough to be dangerous.
Race 3. (16:39) Unite Resourcing (Rs1mw) 1800m
Landed with 4 Barra Mundy (Bet Now: $SP.00) but gee this is a steady race. His last couple of runs have come over the mile here, winning two back before racing here again last Wednesday when on speed and gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through. Up in trip is fine and with front end control, takes running down.
1 Here For Cheques (Bet Now: $SP.00) hasn’t raced since Jan 25 for Bernie Miller since racing over this track/distance when off speed, doing work and battled away really well in defeat behind Bold Hero. The break between runs, I think, is fine, and is hard to beat.
5 Justamiddy (Bet Now: $SP.00) is racing well for Neville Parnham and should be around the mark. That was the case two weeks ago over the mile here and tried hard but just found one better in Rock N The Jam. 1800m, I think is fine, and this isn’t a deep contest.
Race 4. (17:19) Peters Investments (Bm66+) 1000m
3 Silver Eye (Bet Now: $SP.00) is better suited over further but should prove hard to beat against this lot. He resumes for Adam Durrant, having not raced since Sep 14 at Belmont when leading and felt the pinch late in the straight when down the track behind Odinaka. Can sprint well fresh and his recent trial was strong.
7 Deferred (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Epaulette that resumes for Simon Miller. This guy is first up, having not raced since Sep 7 at Belmont when finding a shifty track and couldn’t quite pick up in the conditions behind No Brainer. He does seem to sprint well on the fresh side and his recent trial was quite good.
1 Bayezid (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a short course specialist and is suited to the 1000m here given he’s a two time track/distance winner. Latest run was Jan 18 over 1100m here, leading and giving a good sight but just felt the pinch late behind All Play. Back to 1000m with fresh legs, he’ll give cheek.
Race 5. (18:00) Pearce Racing Yearling Parade Tomorrow (Bm66+) 1600m
4 Axeman’s Jazz (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a lightly raced gelding for Team Williams that is heading in the right direction. He resumed with a bang over 1400m on Jan 22, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance, clocking good late splits. The rise to 1600m, good upside to come, he’ll take a power of beating.
8 Red Tori (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Stephen Mare trained mare that is racing really well at present. Lovely ride saw her win over 1400m last time when getting the beaut run in transit and finished best to win and win well. Great record at Ascot and the rise to 1600m should be fine.
2 Knot Secret (Bet Now: $SP.00) drops miles in grade/depth after racing in a strong 72+ three weeks back over 1400m here. He got off speed and tried hard but just lacked the class to go with them late behind Benji’s. Fitter and up in trip, he’s a definite improver.
Race 6. (18:35) Mrs Mac's (Rs1mw) 1500m
6 Essentric Nature (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a bit on these, all things being equal. Can easily make a case to say he wins two weeks ago here but he got too far back and I thought it was a sleepy, negative ride from CJP. Pike takes over now, rises to 1500m and with room to move, a half positive ride, he’ll be too good.
1 Forever Dreaming (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1500m after racing over the mile a fortnight back here. She landed near the speed and was there to win the race but just couldn’t quite get there when third. Back in trip i like and is seemingly knocking on the door.
2 Success Play (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a track/distance winner two back before going back to 1400m when racing here two weeks back. He was tardy away and that sealed his fate I thought in a total forgive behind Red Tori. Clean jump, he can land on speed and take running down.
Race 7. (19:12) Challenge Stakes 1500m
I’ve always been a fan of 2 All Grunt (Bet Now: $SP.00) and keen to see how he goes at Stakes grade. 2/2 this time in, the win two weeks ago being quite electric when giving them a start and a beating. He looks very much a Derby horse to my eye that will eat up more ground. Keen on his prospects.
The keen threat is clearly 1 Olympic Park (Bet Now: $SP.00), who promised a fair bit in the Spring, with the prep ending with a placing in the WA Guineas. He resumes without a trial but first up at 1500m tells me he is fit despite having eyes on the Derby.
7 Golden Kathleen (Bet Now: $SP.00) has talent and shouldn’t be dismissed. She comes through the Breeders Classic at Bunbury when back in the run but I liked the way she closed her race off in defeat behind London’s Image. Fitter and up in trip, she is a must for exotics.
Race 8. (19:48) Detonator Stakes 1800m
It’s hard to get away from 6 Bonjoy (Bet Now: $SP.00). Loved the way she let down to win three weeks ago in the Ascot Mile, giving them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. 1800m looks ideal, has upside/progression…like her here.
12 Sensessional (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one of the key chances. He ran third to Bonjoy in the Ascot Mile where he seemingly had every chance but that said, was close up and far from disgraced in defeat. Racing like a rise to 1800m is fine and does have upside re fitness vs some of these.
2 Currimundi (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Steve Wolfe, having not raced since the Perth Cup where he got a fair way out of his ground but worked home strongly behind Hemlock Stone. Might need the run but has the quality to run well and can run first four.
Race 9. (20:28) Belhus Racing Join A Racing Syndicate (Bm72+) 1200m
4 Berbere (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very promising gelding for Team Williams that resumes and I am happy to be in his corner. He hasn’t raced since July 13 when leading throughout over 1400m at Belmont and found plenty late to draw clear and win well. Resumes without a public trial but is a bomb fresh horse and has versatility re racing pattern.
2 Watch Me Rock (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Awesome Rock that resumes for Team Williams. He is first up, with his last run coming on Nov 16 over the mile here where they kept him to benchmark races and resisted the Railway carrot. Spelled, trialled well, Pike on, he rates highly.
10 Siberian Siren (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks hard to beat here for Team Casey. She resumed three weeks ago at Ascot where the market suggested she may need the run but I really liked the way she closed off in defeat when a close up third to Golden Vale. Fitter, can settle closer and be strong late.
