This should be a pretty painless watch for 1 Revitup (Bet Now: $1.55), a jump/run filly for Dion Luciani that resumes. She’s not the best juvenile in WA, but I’d say she’s the sharpest short course juvenile. She jumps, runs and will give them something to chase. Trials indicate she’s ready to go and from gate one, with her speed, she wins unless there is a massive drop off, which the trials indicate that won’t be the case.

Danger

2 Capo Veloce (Bet Now: $4.00) is a Colin Webster trained juvenile that is 1/1 to start his career. Kept safe in betting when debuting down the straight at Pinjarra and I really liked the way he knuckled down late to wear them down for the win. I doubt he beats Revitup at her best, but runs well regardless.

Long Shot

3 Born And Bread (Bet Now: $6.50) ran second to Capo Veloce in that race mentioned above. She was on debut and showed good early toe to cross and lead, giving a good kick but was nabbed late. Blinkers first time and with her racing style, the intent is there to suggest she’ll run a positive race.

3 Hardly Ever (Bet Now: $2.00) looks the one on the up. Simon Miller trained filly that has had two runs back from a break. Loved her win last time where they rode her with intent, sitting on speed, against her normal pattern, but she made an absolute mess of them in an impressive display. She can go on with it.

Danger

4 Sniparoochy (Bet Now: $3.60) back to 1200m is a big tick. Looked a good thing to my eye when racing over 1400m at Ascot last start and gee he was plain I thought, seemingly getting every chance. I just think seven furlongs sees him out so back to 1200m I like and prior form was strong.

Long Shot

8 Prince Ragnar (Bet Now: $18.00) is on the quick back up for Roy Rogers after racing at Albany on Sunday where he led throughout and gave his rivals a spanking, albeit the field he beat up wasn’t overly strong. Has run well at metro level before. Doubt he wins but a first four threat.

8 Safety Bay (Bet Now: $4.60) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Fred Kersley trained mare that resumed over 1000m at Ascot two weeks ago and was good in defeat from off the speed when second to a handy animal in Premium Choice. Fitter, up to 1200m, in a very thin race, she’s on top.

Danger

1 Silkinize (Bet Now: $4.80) has a fair bit on these re class. Just been a long time since she has shown anything positive. Ran here last Saturday and it was just a run without jumping up and down behind Nowhiteflag. Up to 1200m and back miles in depth, an improved showing is definitely on the cards.

Long Shot

13 She’s Puzzling (Bet Now: $18.00) is a three start maiden but I think she has the upside to be competitive. Ran in a 1300m maiden last start at Pinjarra and while she had the dream run in transit, she nearly should have won had she got clear air. Very little depth here, so I think she can measure up.

Race 4. (15:53) Amelia Park (Rs1mw) 1200m

10 Alsephina (Bet Now: $2.40) looks very well placed by Grant Williams. 2/2 to start her career, both wins coming over 1100m at Ascot where she has attacked the line with purpose to win on both occasions. Could have gone to the 3YO race but I think in a very thin race like this, it’s set up perfect for a progressive youngster like her.

Danger

5 Via Monte (Bet Now: $2.90) deserves another chance for Dan Morton. Resumed two weeks ago at Ascot and to the eye, he was a bit on the plain side behind Lexington City, but breaking down the splits, he had no chance of figuring in the finish. More genuine tempo, he can run an improved race.

Long Shot

4 First Law (Bet Now: $20.00) is a knockout chance. He resumed over this trip two weeks back at Ascot where I thought he seemingly had his chance from behind the speed. Perhaps being first up, condition just gave way. Fitter, he has a good record at Belmont and has a touch of class when right.

Race 5. (16:29) Crown Perth (Rs1mw) 1400m

It’s early days but Michael Grantham could be in for a fruitful career with the Bob Peters runners. He trains 5 Advanced (Bet Now: $2.70), who had his first run for the camp last Thursday at Northam and yes, the race set up for him, but even allowing for that, the arrogance of the win was something else and he’s come back a better horse. Off that, I have to be in his corner.

Danger

3 Savage One (Bet Now: $6.00) is a consistent animal for Adam Durrant but is finding it hard to break through this time in, finishing runner up in all four runs this prep. Latest run came a fortnight back at Ascot when just off the speed and loomed to win but had to settle for second to Above The Peg. Back up in trip I like and runs well again.

Long Shot

8 Costa Del Santo (Bet Now: $31.00) is a query back to 1400m but I think he’s racing in solid form. Ran over the mile at Pinjarra last time out where he got a fair way back in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he was solid late behind Acting God. If the speed is on, he could pinch a first four spot.

Down in the weights, I’m in the corner of 9 Galactic Storm (Bet Now: $2.90). On the seven day back up for Adam Durrant after racing over 1400m here last Saturday where he wasn’t suited by the race shape, and was giving away weight, but was good in defeat behind a quality horse in Zephyra. 1600m looks ideal and this is a very winnable race against the older horses.

Danger

5 Reliable Star (Bet Now: $7.00) is better suited over further, but she does have a touch of quality about her when right. Adam Durrant trained mare that resumes, having not raced since December 4 when placing over 2200m at Ascot. Good fresh record and has trialled up well leading in. Key threat.

Long Shot

1 Beat The Bro (Bet Now: $15.00) isn’t far off a win. Ran over 1400m at Ascot two weeks back where he got a tad keen behind the speed and that energy wasting took something away from his finale behind Blow Me Out. Think the rise to the mile suits and with the claim, is in with a shout.

Keen on 10 Aragain (Bet Now: $6.00) for Brian Kersley. Ran over 2200m at Ascot two weeks ago where he was given an absolute peach by Chris Parnham and looked all over a winner, but the bob of the head didn’t go his way in a very close finish. Back to 2000m and back to a track he saves his best for, keen on his chances.

Danger

2 General Grant (Bet Now: $7.00) is a tough customer for Stephen Miller who will land on speed and give his all. He was clearly headed by Aragain a fortnight back but fought tenaciously and in a tight go, he lunged back nearer the inside and got the win. Back to 2000m no issue, tough…hard to beat.

Long Shot

11 Bold Success (Bet Now: $14.00) has found winning form and has upside to come. Ridden with intent over 1800m at Pinjarra last start and that positive riding proved the difference, with the eight year old showing good fight in the straight to fend off Sunsphere and win. 2000m, I think, will be okay, and is a knockout hope.

17 Garage Days (Bet Now: $10.00) to bounce back. Adam Durrant trained gelding that ran at Ascot several weeks ago where he was an ugly watch. He was seemingly bolting in the run but couldn’t get clear air at any stage. Interesting that CJP rides Stella Fair over this guy, but maybe connections wanted Parnham after last start? Not sure, but either way, the horse is hard to beat.

Danger

12 Stella Fair (Bet Now: $6.50) doesn’t have the best of records at Belmont but she’s a mare in form for Adam Durrant. Ran over this trip two weeks ago at Ascot when near the speed and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get there when third. Not sure there is upside with her, but if she holds her form, she’s a key threat.

Long Shot

14 Sneaky Fox (Bet Now: $34.00) can run a much improved race. They rode him differently last start at Pinjarra, leading, and it didn’t work. He tired late and finished down the track behind Rebelzone. Ridden with a sit, especially from a good draw, he can bounce back at likely decent odds.

6 It’sarayday (Bet Now: $2.25) looks to pick himself. Classy three year old for Simon Miller that resumed two weeks ago over 1100m at Ascot. He was smashed in betting and under a confident steer from Carbery, he made a mess of them and was impressive. Fitter, up in trip, good draw…hard seeing him getting beat.

Danger

7 Searchin’ Rocs (Bet Now: $12.00) is a very interesting runner. David Harrison trains this quality filly, who is first up, having not raced since the Kingston Town when down the track, but was a tired horse and looking for the paddock. Two trials leading in have been strong and she is 3/4 at the trip. Keen to see how she resumes.

Long Shot

10 Timely Outburst (Bet Now: $4.80) is a promising mare for Stephen Miller. This four year old resumed four weeks ago over 1000m where she led throughout and didn’t give punters a moment of concern, giving her rivals zero look in, winning comfortably. Harder here, but she’s got enormous upside and a good racing style.
