A bumper ten event program has been set down for Rosehill on Saturday for Hobartville Stakes Day. Weather is fine, track is soft (5) and the rail is out five metres for the entire circuit.

3 Iceman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the straight bat option in the opener. He resumed over 1350m here three weeks ago in the Midway when back near last in the run and worked home with real purpose late in the piece when second to Alabama State. Lands in a plum spot from the gate, good upside, one of the better bets on the card.

6 Starphistocated (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1500m after racing two weeks ago over the mile in the Midway. She landed in a decent spot in transit and did try hard but couldn’t quite get past Zenmaster. Good racing style, she appeals.

4 Geemes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will be suited over further but he is in very good form of late and loves a soft track. He is likely to get back in the race and if they go hard in front he will be the horse running over the top of them at good each way value.

4 Micro Mikki (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Brett Robb. He should have gone close to winning the Highway at Randwick a few weeks ago but not much went right for him and it ended up being an ugly watch, with Nash taking the gap on the eventual winner. If the breaks go his way, this horse can win.

6 Solitario (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for the Messara/Gavranich camp that resumes, I dare say with eyes on the Country Championships. Proven Highway performer that looks to have trialled up quite well for the return and stable gets J Mac to ride.

16 Winning Emotions (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix as a knockout hope for Danny Williams after a placing on the home deck at Goulburn, sitting wide no cover throughout and fought on quite bravely in defeat. Maps better and right down in the weights. A definite threat at odds.

The draw is horrendous for 4 Arriving Home (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but I reckon she is humming for her return. Bjorn Baker trained mare that hasn’t raced since placing in the 2025 Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast behind Bosustow. Her trials leading in have been great…if she’s ready to go, she is top seed.

1 Bev’s Nine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is quite progressive for O’Shea/Charlton. 4/4 to start his career, the latest win being a first up crush five weeks ago, getting better as the race went on to score here. Tick over trial at Canterbury was quite good, I think he’s one of the hardest to beat against these.

8 Runlikenencryption (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a mare with a decent engine under the hood for Ben Brisbourne. She ran second to Castellar three weeks ago over 1000m at Caulfield, sitting off speed and closed well enough but was never beating the winner. Like the rise to 1100m for her and if she can settle closer, she’s dangerous.

12 La Roja (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the straight bat horse. Done little wrong in two runs back, placing fresh at Wyong before a gutsy second at Randwick two weeks ago to the in form Cinsault. Maps to get a sweet sit and hard fit, she appeals.

7 Interjection (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran third to Sovereign Hill a few weeks back at Rosehill. He got back off speed and in a race dominated by the leader and eventual winner, he kept chasing and was pretty good late when third. If he can settle closer, he’s dangerous.

9 Sweltering (Bet Now:  $SP.00) doesn’t have the best first up form but I think this race is easier than what she has contested previously. She will get an easy run from the inside barrier and should sit pretty handy so with a bit of luck around the turn I think she has the ability to win this at a big price.

2 Lord Penman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can resume a winner. Chris Waller trained gelding that resumes. He last raced in the Golden Eagle when down the track behind Autumn Glow. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and his trial work has been more than encouraging.

3 Magnatear (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since contesting the Magic Millions Cup when off speed and while he seemingly had his chance, he was far from disgraced in defeat behind King Of Roseau. He’ll be around the mark against these.

5 Flying Bandit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kerry Parker trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Oct 4 when down the track in The Metropolitan, an end of prep run. Recent Kembla trial was encouraging and although he’ll spot them a start, he should be strong at the end. One for exotics.

9 Shiki (Bet Now:  $SP.00) I don’t think is the best horse in the race and looking at the Golden Slipper id have her behind 2-3 of the others however over 1100m at Rosehill I think will be a bit too sharp for her rivals in this where she should get an easy lead and give a good kick.

2 Hidrix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect after a debut win in the Canonbury three weeks ago at this track/distance, getting better as the race went on and was quite impressive in the run to the line. Natural upside/improvement, he takes beating against these.

8 Dr Hook (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a well bred colt for Team Hawkes that resumes. He ran fifth to Fireball in November when off speed and kept chasing but did seemingly have his chance. Moved well in a recent trial win here, watch betting.

Two horses I like here, starting with 14 Piggyback (Bet Now:  $SP.00). She was the real eye catcher two weeks ago over the mile at Randwick when resuming. Got back to near last in the run but loved the way she closed her race off. Reckon she’d be a moral in the Epona on Slipper Day but she might be better than that, starting here.

15 Sam Hawkens (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is my Sydney Cup pony and keen to see him resume. He led and floated in the St Leger in the Spring before being spelled. Now with the new camp and the trials to get ready this time in have been enormous. He’s here to rock and roll.

13 Touristic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be at very good odds in this. He has had a bit of a freshen up since the January Cup where I thought he ran really well and was arguably unlucky not to win. There should be a better tempo in today’s race which will allow him every opportunity to run over the top of them late. Look out for him at big odds.

1 Autumn Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a class colt for Chris Waller and confident he can resume a winner. He hasn’t raced since his Caulfield Guineas triumph, getting a peach from D Lane and finished best to score. Given the good break and he has looked very strong in trials. Hard to beat.

7 Ninja (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very exciting horse winning the Vo Rogue like a legitimate G1 contender. He comes into this after a bit of freshen up where he did a lot wrong and only just missed in the MM Guineas. If he can put it all together today I think he is a horse that could blow this field apart especially with some key scratchings in it.

2 Attica (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a good colt in his own right. Joe Pride trained three year old that was very dominant towards the end of Spring, culminating in the Spring Champion triumph. That coincided with the Blinkers being applied. They haven’t been on in the trials and he has looked plain. But he’s got runs on the board to command respect.

1 Lazzura (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has class on her side and class will carry her a long way. She last raced in the Empire Rose where she just got run off her legs by Pride Of Jenni and was solid late without threatening. Trials have been solid and despite the tricky gate, she commands respect.

4 Pinito (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will be looking for quite a bit further than what she sees here however I always feel good quality stayers can put in a big run first up and I am tipping she will be doing that today. She will get back on the fence which is a concern but if she can find a few gaps in the straight I think she could be powering home in the concluding stages at a big price.

7 Modella (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for Team Curtis and commands respect at a price. She last raced in the Golden Eagle when safely held but was far from disgraced in defeat I thought behind Autumn Glow. Looks to have trialled up very well, she can run a bold race.

9 Tonkin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) in the last. Team Freedman trained mare that resumes, having not raced since Cox Plate Day when placing over 1000m behind speed demon Beast Mode. Trials have been sharp, she looks the likely leader and takes running down.

7 Hawker Hall (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Kris Lees…could he put his hand up as a lightweight contender in The Galaxy with a win here? Sustained speed saw him bolt up at the Gold Coast over 1200m on Magic Millions Day. Went like a rocket in a tick over trial, he appeals as a key chance.

11 Cosmonova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Joe Pride trained mare that resumes. Her last run was on Oct 11 in The Nivison at Randwick when off speed and just battled late. She does have a pretty good first up record and has looked to trial up super for the return. Watch betting.
