Race 1. (12:57) M&J Chickens Handicap 1600m
1 Bamyan Buddha (Bet Now: $SP.00) is flying for Grant Young and is one of the hardest to beat IMO after his effort two weeks ago at this track/distance, sitting off speed and finished hard but just found one better in World’s My Oyster. Form reads well, hard to beat.
7 Flashing Steel (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 1400m on the Parks track. He got back in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was a pass mark behind Streetcar Apollo. Like him up to the mile, not penning him.
6 Chakado (Bet Now: $SP.00) was gallant in defeat three weeks back behind Royal Fox at this track/distance when wide no cover, doing early work, and the hard run just told on him late albeit far from disgraced in defeat behind Royal Fox. Better run in transit, he’s dangerous.
Race 2. (13:32) Adelaide Cup Day 9 March Hcp 1800m
Landed with 9 Somewhere Soon (Bet Now: $SP.00). She was an impressive winner over the mile at Strathalbyn last start, giving them a start and a beating to win impressively. Lands in a plum spot from the inside gate and confident she can measure up against these.
4 Flaming Eyes (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after a second over the mile here. She got back off speed but kept chasing with purpose and was good in defeat when second to Dirty Old Town. Up in trip suits, she’s one of the leading contenders.
8 Hazy Daze (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after racing last Wednesday over 1500m at Gawler when near the speed throughout and tried hard but just felt the pinch late. The rise in trip is interesting but maps well enough and overall, this isn’t a deep contest.
Race 3. (14:02) Ule Hoof Oil Handicap 1050m
I really like 4 Sir Myka (Bet Now: $SP.00) here. He resumed two weeks ago at this track/distance and was quite good from off speed I thought, closing with real purpose late in the piece behind Violet Lovebug. Fitter, can settle closer and he will be quite effective at the end.
2 Intellectual (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran a close up second to Violet Lovebug a fortnight back at this track/distance when resuming. Thought he was there to win but was quite weak late I thought given the run he had and the fact I thought he was there to win. Better for the run though, he gets another chance.
10 Brand Her Bold (Bet Now: $SP.00) will be having her first race start in this but I thought her trial was very good earlier in the month for the daughter of Highland Reel. She is bred to get a bit more of a trip but I think she will be able to absorb the race pace here well and finish strong late at good odds.
Race 4. (14:42) Michael & Virginia Anniversary Hcp 1522m
9 Brown Nose Day Gal (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1550m last Saturday on the Parks track. She got a fair way out of her ground but worked home pretty well late behind the in form Andrew’s Memory. In career best form and seems the straight bat play against these.
1 Ronny Bee (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up in trip after racing over 1200m a fortnight back. He got into a decent spot in transit and was there to win, looming, but just found one better in Thunder Shoc. Racing like a rise in trip suits and strikes a winnable race IMO.
10 Irrefutably (Bet Now: $SP.00) form doesn’t read that well but she hasn’t been beaten that far in her outings. This looks to be an easier assignment for her and if a couple of the more fancied horses in the race don’t fire I think she is one at big odds that could win.
Race 5. (15:17) Cinderella Stakes 1050m
1 Rebel Tuesday (Bet Now: $SP.00) resumed with an absolute bang at this track/distance two weeks ago when resuming, giving them a start and an absolute beating in such an impressive effort. Looks to have returned in beast mode and with that in mind, clearly takes beating.
2 La Gitana (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since a debut placing in the Chairmans at Caulfield. She sat on speed and did try hard but had no answers late for impressive winner Big Sky. That form is A1 for this and back to her own age/sex, she clearly appeals.
9 Never Ordinary (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Byron Cozamanis trained filly that is on debut. She went like a rocket in a trial win here last week, winning by a space and ran decent enough time. Looks prepped right up for this, watch betting.
Race 6. (15:52) Daniel 'Mini' Balfour Memorial Hcp 1050m
2 Blanc Visage (Bet Now: $SP.00) is flying for Team Blanch. Big win fresh at Gawler when giving them a start and a beating. She then stormed home here last start from off speed but just missed out on the win when second to Mic Drop. That form reads super. Hard to beat.
1 Bristler (Bet Now: $SP.00) is two weeks between runs since a second at this track/distance. He did early work to land on speed and tried his guts out but just found one better in Daisydoo. He’ll press forward once again and take running down.
12 Runaway Belle (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came at the midweeks at Murray Bridge over 1000m. She got off speed and kept chasing but did seemingly having her chance behind Bangholme. Fitter, she’ll spot them a start but launch late.
Race 7. (16:27) Lord Reims Stakes 2600m
If the handbrake is off 1 Bold Soul (Bet Now: $SP.00), I think he’ll take a power of beating here. Gee it was a patient ride in the Hobart Cup last start. He was set an impossible task and yes, he wanted to lay in under pressure, but the ride was very negative. I think he’s flying and can certainly bounce back hard here.
14 Crimson Vine (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a key chance for Sarah Rutten. She tried her guts out two weeks ago in the Premiers Plate but just found one better in Komachi, driving hard late to just miss. Has won up to 2500m so 2600m here is fine, she’s down in the weights and I think has upside to come.
4 Mr Waterville (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a sneaky good return in the Colac Cup behind Active Duty. It was a good day to lead and he was off speed. Never really threatened but did like the way he closed his race off. Fitter, up in trip, I think he’s in with a shout.
Race 8. (17:07) City Of Marion Stakes 1200m
12 Thunder Shoc (Bet Now: $SP.00) has earned a crack at this sort of race for mine. She has won two on the bounce, the latest being a fortnight back at this track/distance, sitting on speed and and was trucking before being clicked up and she found plenty when challenged to score. Confident she can measure up.
2 Sghirripa (Bet Now: $SP.00) was a big winner three weeks ago of the Durbridge. Big win because he did look cast so a great training effort to bounce back like he did. The question is how much did the track pattern help him because it was a good day to be up/in. He has class though and that will carry him a long way.
I think 1 Compelling Truth (Bet Now: $SP.00) will run really well here. He resumes for Mack Griffith, having not raced since The Kosciuszko when a tired horse, finishing down the track behind Clear Thinking. Looked sharp in a trial win at Gunnedah, watch betting, but I think he’ll run a beauty.
Race 9. (17:49) Adelaide Galvanising Industries Hcp 1200m
6 Super Lad (Bet Now: $SP.00) will be wanting more ground but I think he could be the best horse in the race. He trialled well earlier in the month to click him up for a good first up assignment and if he can get a good tempo in the race I think he can sit just off the leaders and reel them in late at good each way odds.
4 Clarence (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after coming back to 1100m a fortnight back here when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in the straight in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Mic Drop. If he can be within range, he has the finale to take this out.
8 Howl (Bet Now: $SP.00) was quite good in defeat two weeks back behind Thunder Shoc. He got back to near last in the run but was pretty good late when fourth to the in form mare. Likely spots them a start but will launch late and a win wouldn’t totally shock.
