The big 6 for both NSW and Victorian punters will be on races 4-9. NSW punters have a $27,111 jackpot while Victorian punters have a whopping $200,000 jackpot.
Leg 1 – Very tough big 6 here. Torio’s Quest is sure to improve on his first up effort and is the class factor. Chasse will improve dramatically on a firm track and Lightinthenite has shown plenty of ability and fight in his two lone starts to date. Throw in Big Storm as well because he has trialled well leading into this.
Leg 2 – Got it down to four hopes. Herculian Prince has drawn much better here after having no luck last Saturday. He has the weight but he has the class. Buccelati has improved since his dismal Spring campaign and Nash jumps on him instead of sticking with Herculian Prince. Galizani was scratched from the Charimans last Saturday for this and looks beautifully placed and Our Billy Blue is starting to realise his true potential with two wins from three starts this prep.
Leg 3 – I’m leaving Shamrocker out because I just feel the quick back up may bring her undone. Brazilian Pulse is drawn beautifully and will get a soft run in contrast to last start. Do Ra Mi and Pinker Pinker are dangers and for value throw in Dating from NZ who has good enough form to figure in the finish.
Leg 4 – There is no such thing as a certainty in racing (unless it’s Black Caviar) but More Joyous looks awfully hard to hold out in the Doncaster. Drawn well, and considering her record she is so well weighted she looks the winner. Stand her out.
Leg 5 – The speed will be electric here so look for horses off the pace. Eagle Falls will run on hard at the end and is a Group One winner. Ortensia will get back and look to swoop down the outside. News Alert has drawn a barrier and will get the run of the race. Sister Madly was so impressive first up and has trialled nicely. Shrapnel was impressive when leading throughout at Adelaide but is better with cover and Thankgodyourehere is a superstar on the rise and looks as if he is in for a big campaign judging by his trial form.
Leg 6 – Stand out Tromso. Was ridden too close to the speed and strugged in the heavy going last start. If ridden cold and if the pace is on, look out for him. He is a good horse with the right run and looks as if he’ll get that here.
Leg 1: 1, 5, 7, 9
Leg 2: 2, 3, 8, 11
Leg 3: 2, 3, 4, 11
Leg 4: 1
Leg 5: 2, 3, 6, 7, 13
Leg 6: 4
