Eagle Farm will conduct a nine race meeting on Saturday, headlined by the Tatts Members Cup (1400m). The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (11:53) Functions At Tattersall's-Bm70 1500m
4 Planned Encounter (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a nice filly for Neil Hocking and I do think getting to 1500m is a big tick for her. Both career runs have come over 1350m at Doomben, winning impressively on debut before going there again a fortnight back where she got a fair way out of her ground but liked the way she found the line. Extra 150m and bigger track are two big ticks and strikes a winnable race.
1 Adelad (Bet Now: $SP.00) is bred to love 1500m and beyond. He was specked at big odds when resuming over 1350m at Doomben two weeks back where he got off the speed and was never really a threat but stuck on well enough in defeat, beaten just under three lengths. He does have runs on the board from last prep and the depth here, as a whole, isn’t overly deep.
2 All Valour (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the quick back up for Desleigh Forster after winning last week at Beaudesert when leading throughout over 1400m. He was there to be run down but he found under pressure to fend them off and get the win. Harder here, but good racing style and off a win, can pinch a first four spot at a likely decent price.
Race 2. (12:28) Tattersall's Life Members (C6) 1200m
7 Jayanthi (Bet Now: $SP.00) has been flying since joining O’Dea/Hoysted from Maher/Eustace and no reason why she can’t win again. She has won her past two, both over 1200m at Doomben and each time she has been quite dynamic, with her turn of foot really coming to the fore. If she brings that Doomben form to Eagle Farm, she’s going to take beating.
8 Kir Royale (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be around the mark for Chris Waller. She ran three weeks ago at Rosehill when on speed throughout and tried hard to get the win. Just lacked the change up speed to go with them late in the piece behind Smashing Eagle. I reckon with a more positive steer, she’ll be more effective, and is going well enough to take this out.
6 Fleetwood Maca (Bet Now: $SP.00) is several weeks between runs for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp since racing at this track/distance where she got a mile out of her ground and did make up ground but was never really a winning factor behind stablemate Canadian Dancer. Can settle closer in the run and her best is clearly good enough to give this a shake.
Race 3. (13:03) Tattersall's Arcade (Rs0mw) 1800m
7 Heleva Deel (Bet Now: $SP.00) should take beating against these. Mark Currie trained mare that comes through the Hokahey race from a few weeks ago at Eagle Farm where she got a fair way back in the run nearer the inside but drove hard late, finishing off with purpose, but couldn’t quite get there and had to run second. Like her up in trip and with more upside than most, she appeals.
4 Lucky Exchange (Bet Now: $SP.00) has won up to 1900m so 1800m here is ideal. Kelly Schweida trained gelding that has had three runs back from a spell, the latest coming at Doomben two weeks ago where he got back off the speed and worked to the line really well I thought without really threatening, beaten just under three lengths behind Bollente. Like him up in trip and hard fit now, he’ll take beating.
9 Gambu (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one that can be included in wider multiples. First run for Nat McCall came on the home deck at the Sunny Coast where they rode with intent to land on speed and he tried hard but being first up, condition just gave way behind Menazzi. Lands in a plum spot from the draw and with good upside to come, his best is good enough to be dangerous.
Race 4. (13:38) The Conservatory At Tatts-Bm78 2200m
2 Chernak (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and seems the straight bat option. Three weeks between runs since a track/distance win when giving them a start and a beating, rounding them up out wide for a strong win. That was his first run in a month so with room for improvement, he rates highly against this lot in what is a winnable race.
5 Coup De Tonnerre (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the one with good upside and getting to 2200m is a big tick for him. He was backed with confidence a fortnight back at Doomben and it seemed #They were going to get it right when he was on speed but just couldn’t quite get there, just lacking the race hardness. He has that now, and with a bunny to chase, I think he’ll be more effective.
3 Roller Coaster (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a knockout hope. Strong winner of the Ken Howard on Coffs Cup Day before going to the Chernak race mentioned above where he got back and made up ground but was never really a factor behind the Waller stayer. Not sure he can turn the tables, but is a must for exotics given he will stay.
Race 5. (14:13) Membership At Tattersall's Hcp 1000m
9 Instagood (Bet Now: $SP.00) is to be respected. Tony Gollan trained filly that resumed three weeks back at Beaudesert where the market said she was a good thing, backed with confidence late, and #They knew, jumping fairly but rolled to sit on speed and from there, she was always in control and was far too good. Harder here, but think she goes pretty good.
1 Miss Coota (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a quality filly for Chris Munce that is three weeks between runs since a gutsy win at this track/distance where she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure and in the end, class came to the fore and she was too good. Back to her own age/sex, she seems best suited at the short course…she’ll take beating.
5 Minto’s D’Oro (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes through the Miss Coota race mentioned above where she was near the speed throughout and tried her guts out but just couldn’t quite get there, finishing third. Think with a more conservative steer, she’ll be stronger at the end and prior to that did run well at 1200m, so not dismissing her.
Race 6. (14:48) Events At Tattersall's (Rs0mw) 1000m
11 Nashira (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be given another look. O’Dea/Hoysted trained mare that resumed in the Devastating race from a few weeks back at Eagle Farm and on paper, it was just a run, but when you break down the race and how it was run, she had zero hope and actually did a good job to finish as close as she did. If she can settle closer in the run, she’ll take beating.
4 Hold On Honey (Bet Now: $SP.00) is hard to beat for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp. This gelding resumed at Eagle Farm a few weeks back where he looked all over a winner when he hit the front in the straight but being first up, the long Eagle Farm straight, he couldn’t quite go on with it and was run down late by Dalavin. Great second up record and I do think he’ll be better with a bunny to chase. Commands respect.
7 Maximum Output (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be around the mark for Stuart Kendrick. Market took a set against him when resuming on the home track at the Sunny Coast. That said, he almost defied the notable betting drift, sitting on speed and looking the winner, only to be nabbed late by The Kewess. Good second up record, better for the run under the belt, he appeals.
Race 7. (15:27) Des Lambart Memorial Plate-C6 1200m
Looks a lovely race for 6 Hell I Am (Bet Now: $SP.00), who resumes for John O’Shea. He resumes, having not raced since the Hawkesbury Guineas where he just looked a tired horse when down the track behind Hawaii Five Oh. Been given a good break and with three trials under the belt, he’s had the right grounding to win fresh.
10 Zarastro (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found winning form, finally, and he can win again. Market said he was a moral a few weeks ago at Eagle Farm and #They got it spot on, leading throughout and was quite dominant in the run to the line. He is a good horse when right and he looks like he is flying under Gollan. He’ll look the winner for a long way.
Fitter and up to 1200m are two big ticks for 5 Zuma California (Bet Now: $SP.00). He resumed two weeks back behind Orbisyn at Doomben. He got a fair way out of his ground and did loom for a stride or two but being first up, condition just gave way late in the piece. Better for the run under the belt, he is certainly good enough to give this a shake.
Race 8. (16:07) Tatt's Members Cup 1400m
10 Bullfinch (Bet Now: $SP.00) is capable with his best. He is here off a freshen up for Chris Waller, having not raced since July 29 when struggling on the heavily biased track at The Valley behind The Summit, not getting much chance given the severe up/in pattern. The break between runs interests me but he has enough quality to measure up in a race like this.
6 Looks Like Elvis (Bet Now: $SP.00) saves his best for Eagle Farm so I think this is superb placement by Jarrod Austin. He resumed three weeks ago at Rosehill where he got back to near last in the run and did make up some headway, but was never really a threat behind Pericles. Not sure he’s a Sydney/Melbourne Stakes class horse anymore so back here, his favourite track, he only runs well.
2 Irish Songs (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one of the key threats. Louise White trained gelding that was seven weeks between runs when racing a fortnight back at Doomben where he wasn’t suited by the sit/sprint but was solid enough in defeat behind impressive all the way winner Arentee. He has that run under the belt now and with a more genuine tempo, he can run a much improved race.
Race 9. (16:43) Weddings At Tattersall's-Bm78 1400m
6 Our Magnus (Bet Now: $SP.00) is bursting to win one for Team Geran. Looked like it would come at Doomben a fortnight back where he was given a peach by Gary Geran and looked all over a winner but he couldn’t quite get past Azzareach. He’s third up from a spell, so he should be at peak fitness and being a track/distance winner, he appeals.
13 Sha Of Gomer (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be ready to go for Chris Waller. Did more than enough fresh on the Kenso at Randwick before going to Doomben two weeks ago where I thought he was the winner when he loomed but just couldn’t quite get there when a close up third to Azzareach. Hard fit now and up to 1400m, more positive ride, he’ll take beating.
3 Fastconi (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door for Nat McCall. He ran over 1400m at Eagle Farm at the midweeks last time where he had a suck run behind the speed and presented to win but couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Winston Smurfhill. He has that 1400m run under the belt and hard fit, I am not penning him.
