2/8/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Murray Bridge

1 All So Clear (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He won over 2200m at Pakenham Synthetic last time, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in albeit the margin was narrow. Back to 1800m I like and this is a very thin metro race.

3 Showrunner (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after racing a fortnight back over 1550m at Morphettville Parks. He got a decent run in transit behind the speed and tried hard but just whacked in the run to the line behind Sav On Ice, who won again last Saturday so the form reads super.

5 Following Sea (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Bain/Taylor since racing over 1700m at Gawler. He got off speed and seemed to travel into the race okay but just whacked in the run to the line behind The Western Front. Tick over trial was solid, watch betting.

5 Tassoro (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Tassort that is on debut for Michael Hickmott. He hasn’t been seen at the trials since June 12 when a winner at Morphettville Parks and seemingly moved well I thought. Home track advantage, watch betting.

8 Broadbeach Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to SA after a couple of runs in Victoria to start the prep, the latest run coming at Pakenham Synthetic over 1400m when just off speed and presented to threaten but just whacked in the run to the line. Back to 1200m, I think she’s a leading chance.

12 Mondello (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1000m at Morphettville Parks when off speed and was good late without threatening when fourth. Fitter and up to 1200m, she’ll be strong late and can win.

4 Swycho (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile for Michael Hickmott after racing over 1400m here three weeks ago when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Headphones. 1600m is fine and with front end control, he’s dangerous.

1 Merchant Boss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through a 1550m race a fortnight back at Morphettville Parks. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was pretty good late behind Willybeafactor. Bigger track, 1600m, he is right in the mix.

8 Obi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Sarah Rutten having not raced since June 21 at Morphettville when off speed and just whacked in the run to the line behind Starts Now. The break between runs and at the mile, I’d watch betting.

6 Rabtat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is working up to a win for Michael Hickmott. He ran three weeks ago over 1800m here where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat I thought. Hard fit, 2000m, he appeals.

9 Peta’s Heart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over 1700m at Gawler. She tried to make a sustained run from off speed but just whacked in the run to the line. That said, she was far from disgraced in defeat behind The Western Front. Up in trip is fine, she can win.

1 Lavish Thinker (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 2000m after racing over 2400m at Sandown where he found a bog track and couldn’t pick his feet up in the conditions behind Galilaeus. Firmer deck, back in trip and back miles in grade/depth, he can run a much improved race.

7 Morris Minor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Richie D’Amour race from three weeks ago at this track/distance. He was wide no cover on speed and tried his guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through when third but was far from disgraced. Better run in transit, he appeals.

2 Gitalong (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Team Hayes, having not raced since June 21 at Randwick when wide no cover on speed and just tired late when down the track behind Lulumon. Tick over jumpout was sharp, he can bounce back.

11 Sharendipity (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win. She ran at this track/distance three weeks back. She was five wide on speed and was entitled to knock up but she kept chipping away and was really good in defeat behind Richie D’Amour when second. If that hasn’t busted her, she can win.

4 Cash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Snitzel that resumes for Michael Hickmott. He resumes, having not raced since his debut back on Nov 15 at The Valley when an impressive winner from just off the speed in what has turned out to be a red hot maiden with six winners coming from it. Recent Morphettville trial was good, watch betting.

9 Sign From Above (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1200m at Gawler when wide no cover for the trip and tried hard but the hard run just told on him late behind impressive winner Bancoora. The first up run was a beauty and with a better run in transit, he takes beating.

3 Dark’N’Confidential (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Stuart Gower trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since the SA Derby where he was outclassed and I think the 2500m was a bridge too far. Fresh at 1200m I find interesting but he has a touch of quality on his side. Watch betting.

2 Runaway Statement (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m for Phillip Stokes after racing over 1400m three weeks ago here. She got into a decent spot in behind and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when third to Headphones. Maps well and back to 1200m, she appeals.

7 Littlebourkestreet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m three weeks ago here. She was able to hold a forward spot nearer the inside after being tardy away but was just fair late. I think the rise to 1200m suits and prior form was solid.

10 Pulambi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a track/distance winner and this isn’t a deep contest. She ran two weeks back at Morphettville Parks when wide throughout, with cover, and tried hard, but couldn’t quite get there when sixth to Lonrodex. Better run in transit, she can win for sure.

12 Headphones (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a fab track/distance record and with that in mind, I think she’s the each way play here. She won last start at this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating, finishing best from well back to score. Rises in grade/depth, but loves this set up and is the each way bet I think.

3 Watadeel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned well for Phillip Stokes and should appreciate a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1250m a fortnight back at Morphettville Parks. He got off speed and spotted those in front a tidy start but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. Better set up here, he appeals.

4 Validated (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at Gawler over 1100m. He got a fair way back off the speed and despite tracking into the race nicely, he just whacked in the run to the line when third, but it was the first run for the new stable, so you’d like to think there is upside/improvement to come.

1 The Mansman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over 1550m at Morphettville Parks. He got off speed and seemed to have his chance but just whacked in the run to the line behind Fiasco Tess. His best is clearly good enough and this is a winnable race.

8 Amber Nook (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Peter Hardacre trained mare that resumes. She is better suited over further but has looked to trial really well for the return so I’d say watch betting and see what she does.

6 Wild Willy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a down the track effort at Gawler. He was wide throughout but at the same time, he looked to really struggle on the shifty track. Firmer deck, previous winner at Murray Bridge, he can run an improved race.
