Belmont will host a nine race card on Saturday for Blue Spec Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

2 Ginnivan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a horse I have plenty of time for and confident he can make it 2/2 to start his career. I was keen on him when debuting two weeks ago at this track/distance but the market took a real set against him late. Nobody told the horse that because he led throughout and was quite dominant in the run to the line. Finds the front here again and will take running down.

1 Snow Prince (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the class of the field and that will carry him a long way towards victory. He was a busy horse as an Autumn 2YO in his opening prep, placing in the Perth Stakes before a down the track effort in the Karrakatta. He then came back to 1100m and won well before being spelled. Two trials under the belt to get ready and with class, appeals.

6 Miss Saabrah (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Snippetson filly for Luke Fernie that is on debut. This girl is first up, having not been seen since trialling here on July 31 over 400m here. Beaten a few lengths but seemed to move well enough to my eye, which she did in the first trial. Not sure I could back her to win, but for multiples, she is a must include IMO.

1 Strike Now (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. Jason Miller trained gelding that ran over 1400m here two weeks ago where he got back off the speed but was trucking in the run and seemingly moving nicely into the contest. He didn’t win but was good in defeat when third. Like him up in trip and with good upside to come, he appeals.

8 Salacia Queen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. Market wanted her with confidence when resuming over 1300m here at the midweeks when back off the speed and got the inside run, driving hard late but had to settle for a second to Brighid. Fitter and up in trip, more upside than most, he clearly rates highly against these.

5 Gift Of The Heart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Roy Rogers trained gelding that is four weeks between runs since racing over 1400m here when attempting to lead throughout and giving a bold sight but couldn’t quite finish the race off when second to noted wet tracker Vital Gem. Unknown at 1600m but has a good racing style and with a break between runs, there is some level of intent.

4 Let’sdeal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Steve Wolfe after racing over 2100m here last Saturday where he lumped the big weight and after sitting on speed, he kept finding under pressure and was only nabbed late when a narrow second to Villeins. Gets good weight relief and only has to hold his form to be around the mark.

8 The Dominican (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given serious respect. He ran threeweeks ago over 2100m here where he found a heavy track and lapped up the conditions best to win impressively, proving strong to the line. Up 100m in trip is no issue given this will be a slog and now he has a win on the board, he can go on with it, and Pike takes over.

9 Truly Reliable (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is getting close to D-Day. This gelding ran at the midweeks here last time when well supported but after getting the decent run in transit, he was there to win but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Red Dwarf. Should do no work in transit again and hard fit now, I am respecting the market push from last time and saying he’s in with a shout.

2 Ponyo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it. Team Williams trained mare that ran last Wednesday at this track/distance where she led all the way under a peach from Pike, getting complete control in front and giving nothing else a look in to win well. Good third up record and off a win, good racing style, she’ll take beating once again.

4 Hammarmill (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be ready to go. Did more than enough fresh behind Final Authority before going to 1200m here two weeks ago where she was very good against the pattern, closing off well out wide when second to Red Fifty Three. Hard fit now, can settle closer in the run and be quite effective at the end.

6 Enticing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be around the mark. Jim Taylor trained gelding that ran over this track/distance three weeks back where he was near the speed throughout and on a testing track, he kept finding and was only just getting the staggers late behind Seminole Brave. Not sure I could back him to win but he is a must for exotics.

7 Starry Heights (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is heading in the right direction for Team Williams. He has won his past two, both wins coming at this track/distance. Latest win was two weeks ago when wide with cover and seemingly trucking in the run before being presented clear air under Pike and he went through his gears like a nice horse to win well. No reason why he can’t win again.

8 Arcadia Grace (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is going much better than what the form guide says. It will say she has done nothing in two runs back from a break but when you break down the splits, she had no chance of getting involved. Like her up to the mile and if she can settle closer in the run, she’s going well enough IMO to give this a shake.

6 Mahaleo… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the jury out on him? He was terrible to end the last prep and returned something similar, which was two weeks back over 1400m when just off the speed and failed to come on behind Zephyra. He does have a good track/distance record and we know that his best is good enough to run a bold race at a big price.

5 Military Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very consistent animal for Jim Taylor and seems the straight bat option. This gelding has won three of eight, all three wins coming at 1000m. 2/2 this time in, both wins coming at Northam where he has been on speed each time and found under pressure to fend them off and win. Good test here, but confident he measures up.

7 Songaa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Mitch Pateman and is hard to beat. He ran three weeks ago at this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run before being presented wider and finished off his race with purpose when third to Goddess Of Giving, clocking the best late splits of the meeting. Dangerous if within range on the turn.

2 Strathmore Rose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Goddess Of Giving race mentioned above. Forgive and forget the run given she was four wide no cover on speed throughout and that hard run told late in the piece, tiring to finish down the track. Think with a more economical run in transit, she can run a much improved race.

2 Multinational (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one to beat for Neville Parnham. This gelding ran two weeks ago in the Jockey Celebration Day Stakes when back off the speed and was chasing early but I liked the way he kept finding the line in a good effort behind stablemate Flying Missile. Back a bit in grade/depth and maps to get an ideal run in transit. He’ll take beating.

6 Advanced (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Hayden Ballantyne after racing at the mile here last Saturday where he got back to near last but tracked up and loomed to win but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Currimundi, running fourth. Back further in trip I find interesting but the big tick is that Pike is booked so watch the market.

3 Kia Ora Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one to watch from a market perspective. He has been kept on ice, having not raced since July 15 when near the speed throughout but didn’t quite finish the race off in a plain return behind Sunny Honey. Fresh at 1400m signals some level of intent and his best is certainly good enough. One for exotics.

3 Alaskan God (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another chance. Dan Morton trained five year old that resumed two weeks ago in the Jockey Celebration Day where the market said he had three legs and ran accordingly in terms of not winning but didn’t mind the way he found the line late in the piece behind Flying Missile. Fitter and up to 1600m, more positive ride, he’ll take beating.

Great to see 7 She’s Fit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) back at the races. She resumes for Dan Morton, having not raced since the SA Derby when at the end of a long prep and looking for the paddock behind Dunkel, a potential star. Can’t find a recent trial for her, but 1600m fresh signals some level of intent and she does have class, so I think watch the market.

8 Coming Around (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like a rise to the mile will suit. He ran in the Flying Missile race mentioned above from two weeks back. He got back despite drawing well and that probably sealed his fate in the end but didn’t mind his finale behind the Parnham horse. Tricky draw to overcome but think he’s racing well enough to run first four.

8 Red Fifty Three (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. That win came a fortnight back where he had everything fall into place for him, getting the suck run on the fence before Pike was able to get a split and drove hard to finish best. He won’t get it as easy this time around but has good upside to come and a touch of quality.

6 Zephyra (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a threat. Simon Miller trained mare that resumed over 1400m here a fortnight back where Carbery rode to the pattern, leading and that proved the winning form, finding under pressure to fend them off and win. Back in trip should be fine and with a good racing style, she is in with a shout.

9 Henry The Aviator (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off a win and with that in mind, he has to be respected. That win came at the midweeks at this track/distance, getting the suck run behind the speed before angling into clear air and in a driving finish, he was too good. Maps to do no work once again…must for multiples.

LONG SHOT: Race Six Number 5 Military Power
