Gold Coast will play host to an eight race card on Friday night, headlined by The Debut (1000m). Weather is fine, track is soft (5) and the rail is out two metres for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (18:15) Bruno Suits Dress To Impress Handicap (Class 2) 2212m
4 Lovey Dovey (Bet Now: $SP.00) is racing like a rise to 2200m will suit. She ran over 1800m here two weeks ago where she got off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat when third. Not a deep race, Waller polish, she’ll do me each way.
3 Throttle Response (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He attempted to lead throughout last start over 2070m at Doomben and looked the winner for the most part but was nabbed late by Evelyn May. I think with a more patient steer, he will be far more effective.
1 Sir Lamorak (Bet Now: $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over this trip at the Sunny Coast when on speed throughout and did try hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when second. Good racing style, in well after the claim, he’ll acquit himself well I am sure.
Race 2. (18:45) Southport Golf Club Handicap (Class 5) 1200m
3 Blue Spinel (Bet Now: $SP.00) is bursting to win for Tony Gollan. She ran over 1100m at Ipswich where she was tucked in behind the speed before angling for clear air and drove hard late when second. 1200m, firmer deck, good speed in front, she takes beating.
1 Mister Bianco (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1110m at Doomben where he just looked in need of the run but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Bossed Up. He appeals big time back to this level.
8 Hayaku (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an Allan Chau trained gelding that resumes. He is better suited over slightly further and although he’ll spot them a start, he will be strong late and I’d day is a knockout chance.
Race 3. (19:15) Race With Shailer Racing Handicap 1100m
3 Liquor (Bet Now: $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and run very well at a price I think. She was big odds when resuming in the Swiss Ace a few weeks ago and tried hard but condition just gave way late behind stablemate Hidden Wealth. Better suited here, she’ll jump/run and only run well.
7 Hell (Bet Now: $SP.00) tried his absolute guts out three weeks ago at Doomben when resuming. He was on speed and gave a great sight but had no answers late for the finale of Bossed Up. He has the speed to overcome the wide draw and be hard to run down.
2 He’s Heaven (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since the Keith Noud where he was outclassed and never really a factor behind Epic Proportions. He can run a much improved race against these.
Race 4. (19:45) City Property Services Handicap (68) 1400m
12 Toros (Bet Now: $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps in what looks an open contest. This girl is first up and 1400m fresh does signal some form of intent. Just depends how far back she gets but if she’s within range, I think she has the finale to overhaul them.
9 King Of Minto (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after a first up win over 1300m here, producing sustained speed from the front and gave nothing else a look in. Extra 100m should be fine, he’s one of the leading contenders.
10 Wild Gypsy (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be given another chance. Market said she had three legs when resuming at Ipswich and ran accordingly when down the track. Better for the run, she can be a threat here at what will be a decent price.
Race 5. (20:15) The Debut 1000m
6 Face The Wild (Bet Now: $SP.00) will likely be Magic Millions favourite if she wins this. I think she will after the way she has been trialling, looking like a rocket here before a comfortable trial win last week at the Sunny Coast. If she runs up to her trial work, she wins.
3 Lumbini (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a GaiBott filly that debuts after a couple of trials, the latest seeing her win at Canterbury and moved quite well. Looks the leader and will give a good sight I am sure.
4 Modernist (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an All Too Hard filly for Bjorn Baker that is on debut. She trialled last week at Warwick Farm, fresh after a Spring prep with no runs, and moved quite well to win the trial in solid time. I think watch betting and see what it does.
Race 6. (20:45) GC1000 Plate 1000m
6 Vein Girl…(Bet Now: $SP.00) why isn’t she odds on? Surely she has these on toast. Brave third at Caulfield before going to the Red Roses where she had zero luck and pretty much went around like a barrier trial. If she just holds her form, she beats these.
8 Forgotten Spirit (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing over this trip at the Sunny Coast where she ran second, trying hard but just failed to get there. Tricky draw but commands respect.
7 Get Ready Lass (Bet Now: $SP.00) was big odds when winning the Sunny Coast race mentioned above. She was on speed throughout and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found. She’ll give a good sight and is a must for exotics.
Race 7. (21:15) Happy Birthday Kylie Handicap (68) 1100m
16 Heavenly Impact (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one of the better each way specks of the meeting. He hasn’t raced since July 26 at Doomben over the mile where he was far from disgraced in defeat. 1100m is clearly on the short side for him but his trial was string and he’ll launch late off the good tempo.
10 Spiethtacular (Bet Now: $SP.00) has been dynamic in her two starts/wins this time in, both coming on the Synthetic here where she has been far too good. Can she translate it to the turf? If the answer is yes, she is one of the hardest to beat.
4 The Lucky Alien (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1100m after racing over 1200m at Doomben when on speed and tried hard but was just outclassed. Back in trip and back to this level, he’d an improver at odds.
Race 8. (21:45) Allegra Homes Maiden 1400m
12 Possibilities (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a really good each way gamble to close out the program. She resumed at this track/distance where she was returning off one soft trial and loomed to win from off speed but condition just gave way. Fitter, good upside to come, I think she only runs well.
5 Blackjack (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Bivouac that resumes for Team McEvoy. He hasn’t raced since his debut back in February at Sandown when far from disgraced in defeat behind Tom. Tricky draw but has trialled well and strikes a winnable race.
4 Battuta (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Chris Waller trained gelding that hasn’t set the world on fire when racing in Sydney, albeit has contested maiden races much stringer than this. I think he’s a big improver at odds.
