Ten races have been set down for Morphettville Parks this Saturday for Nitschke Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

12 Juxtapose (Bet Now: $4.80) should prove hard to beat for Will Clarken. She ran two weeks ago at Oakbank over 1050m where she spotted those in front a start but worked home with real purpose when second to Snallygaster. Like her up in distance and with a more positive steer, takes beating.

9 Brand Her Bold (Bet Now: $4.50) steps up to 1250m after racing over 1050m at Oakbank two weeks back where she got off speed and while she was never threatening, she was good late when fourth. Like the rise in trip for her, can settle closer and be effective late.

5 Green Summer (Bet Now: $21.00) is a son of Maurice that debuts for Stuart Gower. His trial/jumpout work hasn’t been too bad to my eye, enough to suggest he has talent. Strong maiden to debut in but think he has talent so watch betting.

9 It’sanotherbattle (Bet Now: $3.70) ran third to Sir Myka at Oakbank when resuming. She was a bit keen on speed and just tired late. If she can harness her energy better, or even just let run, I think she’ll take running down.

3 Carpe Astra (Bet Now: $23.00) is a key chance for Michael Hickmott after a second at Oakbank two weeks ago when on speed and she tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to the hard fit Sir Myka. Good racing style, hard fit, in form, she appeals.

5 Shocap (Bet Now: $12.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1050m on the course proper here when off speed and was there to threaten I thought but just whacked late behind Signature Scent. Hard fit, she’s good enough to threaten.

10 Smother (Bet Now: $8.50) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when off speed, wide with cover, and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there in a blanket finish when third. Tick over trial was good, can settle forward and be dangerous.

6 Mystic Wonder (Bet Now: $3.40) attempted to lead throughout two weeks ago over 1400m at Oakbank, giving a really good sight from the front but just felt the pinch late when second to Brown Nose Day Girl. Good racing style, she commands respect.

1 Andrew’s Memory (Bet Now: $14.00) will need to carry the big weight to win here however over the 1550m I don’t think it will be a big task. This is a very winnable race and he is going to be rock hard fit stepping back in distance. If he can show an sort of turn of foot in this I think he will be right in the finish.

6 Heaven Rocks (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when first up. He was near the speed and thought he was there to win but just found one better in the in form Miss Slipstream. Good upside to come and strikes a winnable race.

10 Vanlee (Bet Now: $4.60) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Joe Pride, she now finds herself with Michael Hickmott and has looked to trial up very well for the return. Likely spots them a start but will be strong late so watch betting.

12 Zatanna (Bet Now: $18.00) was game in defeat two weeks back at Oakbank when leading and giving a decent sight but just tired late behind Palm Of Jumeirah. Good racing style, she’ll look the winner at some stage I am sure. Just the last 100m will be her acid test.

4 Bristler (Bet Now: $12.00) is a track/distance specialist and with that in mind, I think he’s hard to beat. Loved the way he toughed it out to win several weeks ago at this track/distance, leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Hard to beat I say.

8 From The Block (Bet Now: $3.80) is a Team Jolly trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Oct 18 when on speed and just felt the pinch late on the course proper. Looks to have jumped out well and strikes a winnable race.

2 Declared (Bet Now: $8.00) was pretty good in defeat in the race won by High On Sugar a few weeks back. He got off speed and worked to the line well enough but seemingly had his chance. Maps to settle much closer and be effective late.

3 Dark’N’Confidential (Bet Now: $7.50) should prove hard to beat for Stuart Gower. He was safely held in the Stawell Cup but I thought was far from disgraced in defeat behind Wymark. Back to this level, back home, he clearly appeals.

5 Oxford Blue (Bet Now: $3.50) is one of the hardest to beat after racing in the Onkaparinga Cup a fortnight back at Oakbank when on speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when second to Savatoff. Like him back slightly in trip and hard fit, he clearly appeals.

1 Sir Kingsford (Bet Now: $6.00) will jump on the bunny and give his all, as seen in the Onkaparinga Cup when leading and giving a decent sight but just felt the pinch. Front end control on this track, he is dangerous.

6 Exit (Bet Now: $3.60) is a few weeks between runs since an impressive win at Flemington on testing ground. She spanked them…whether it was the wet track, or Blinkers first time, not sure, but she was sharp, and off that, she can measure up here.

1 Kalmana (Bet Now: $17.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He ran third at Oakbank two weeks back when leading and he gave a decent kick from the front but had no answers late for One More Song. Good racing style, and while this is harder, he’ll acquit himself well.

8 Live (Bet Now: $13.00) has been contesting some good quality races in her short career and can certainly match it in this grade. She was a bit disappointing last time out where she got back and didn’t really make much ground late. If you put a line through that run then she would be starting a lot shorter in the market. One to watch.

8 Invertational (Bet Now: $14.00) got a mile out of her ground at Oakbank two weeks ago, settling near last, but really liked the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Palm Of Jumeirah. If she can settle closer and land near the front, she’ll only run well.

1 Attain (Bet Now: $10.00) is an interesting runner. Former Victorian that is now with Chris Bieg. Frustrating horse to follow but the talent is certainly there and this looks a race well within reach for him so I’d say watch betting and see what it does.

3 Ice Symphony (Bet Now: $12.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1200m on the course proper here when near the speed throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Gold Spirit. Suited here, he can win.

14 Walk Like An Angel (Bet Now: $18.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1100m on the course proper. She was back and wide in the run, and while she was never threatening, she kept chasing and was far from disgraced. If she can settle closer with a better run in transit, she appeals.

6 I Am Velvet (Bet Now: $2.90) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1200m at Caulfield two weeks ago where she got back to near last in the run and took forever to get going, only warming up very late. Fitter, back a fair way in depth, she appeals.

9 Clarence (Bet Now: $7.50) steps up to 1250m after racing over 1050m at Oakbank two weeks back. He got a fair way out of his ground and while I am not sure he was 100% happy on the track, he kept chasing and finding the line. Like him up in trip, he appeals.

1 Inexorable (Bet Now: $12.00) is an interesting runner. He comes through the Bairnsdale Cup where he had the suck run in transit and was there to win. Just lacked the finale to go with them late behind King’s Valley. His best is good enough so I am not dismissing.

4 Jilladora (Bet Now: $7.00) commands respect for Justin Pickering after a last start placing in the Queen Of The Hills at Oakbank behind Brown Nose Day Girl, trying hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Tricky gate but will press forward and be dangerous.

5 Starts Now (Bet Now: $6.50) is a Team Jolly trained gelding that resumes. He is better suited over further but liked his recent trial win here and can sprint well fresh, so I’d say watch betting and see what it does.
