9 Pierata’s Gem (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. Chris Munce has been humming with his juveniles this season and I thought the trial win of this filly last week at Beaudesert was pretty good. She was under pressure behind the speed but what I liked is that she responded and was strong late in winning. Has the rail to guide her and off the trial, I have no doubt she will be strong at the end.

1 Cutting Edge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. Team Sears trained juvenile that debuted at Eagle Farm two weeks ago and did plenty wrong but despite that, he worked home with real purpose and was quite good in defeat behind Devine Force. If he naturally improves off that, he’ll take beating here I am sure.

2 Age Of Aquarius (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has the winning raceday experience under the belt, which should hold him in good stead here. He comes through a 2YO race at Townsville when leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found plenty under pressure to fend them off. More depth here, but drawn soft, good racing style, he can pinch a top four spot.

5 Rising Pacific (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Tony Gollan and deserves a crack at a race like this. He was quite dominant at Doomben three weeks ago, making a sustained mid race move and he was there to be beaten but he found late and was strong to the line in winning. He has been up a while but I think he only has to hold his form and I am confident he’ll measure up.

15 Poetic Drama (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. Good second to Rising Pacific in the race mentioned above before backing up a week later at Eagle Farm where she got back in the run and was pretty plain in the straight I thought, perhaps not handling the back up behind Tenzing. Maps to do no work in the run and right down in the weights, she appeals.

10 Secret Tales (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for O’Dea/Hoysted since racing over the mile at Eagle Farm where she got back in the run and made up minimal headway late in the piece behind Eagles Crag. She does tend to save her best for the Sunny Coast so returning here, she is a must for exotics.

6 Winsome Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had two runs on the bounce at 1400m so rising to 1600m is ideal IMO, especially on the home deck. Latest run was at Eagle Farm on Cup Day where she just lacked the polish to put them away late in the piece behind Warby. Like him up in trip, back to her own age, she’ll be hard to beat against this lot.

Fitter and up to 1600m are two big ticks for 2 Felix The Scat (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He had his first run for Tony Gollan over 1400m a fortnight back at Eagle Farm where he was just run off his legs when the sprint went on and whacked to the line behind Weigall Tiger. The rise to 1600m is ideal for him, he has upside/progression and runs on the board from the 2YO season.

10 Planned Encounter (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with her best. She was several weeks between runs when racing over 1400m at Eagle Farm two weeks back where she got back in the run and failed to make up any real headway, finishing over ten lengths away from Weigall Tiger. The efforts when last in work was strong so don’t dismiss her.

3 Devastating (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a hard horse to catch but I think getting back to a bigger track, he’ll be strong at the end. He ran a few weeks back at Doomben where he was left flat footed under a very negative ride from Cejay IMO. He was never beating Helluva Barty but should have finished much closer. Like him back on the bigger track and with a more positive steer, he’ll take beating.

2 Standing Order (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been excellent in two runs this time in and third up here, he looks really well placed. He ran over 1200m a few weeks ago when just off the speed throughout and presented to win but just couldn’t quite get the win when a narrow second to the very much in form Lost In Transit. Lands on speed and hard fit, he appeals.

14 Risky Investment (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in good order for Ryan Tyrell. He resumed on Cup Day at Eagle Farm and was a clear eye catcher, working home with real purpose from near last on the turn to run second to Femme Fatale. He did have a $41 SP there so you’d like to think with good room for improvement, hard to beat if he runs up to that return.

The stable is completely cast, but I am convinced 8 Colleagues (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has come back super and with home track advantage, he is the way I am leaning. Both runs back this time in have come at Eagle Farm, the latest being two weeks ago over the mile when back off the speed and kept finding the line in a good effort behind Tenzing. He’ll love getting to 1800m and third up from a spell, should just about be at peak fitness.

12 Kapakiri (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Chris Waller trained gelding that has found winning form and he can go on with it. That win came at the midweeks at Eagle Farm where he looked a moral on paper and despite a few nervous moments in the run, he got clear, built the revs and away he went for a dominant win. Off that win, he’ll take beating against these.

16 Hallside Martini (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout hope for Jason Edwards. This mare was a strong winner over this track/distance two back before going back to the mile at Doomben last time and was good late without threatening behind Rising Pacific, who is flying. Back up in trip, good speed in front, she’ll get every chance to finish over the top.

9 Millane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look for Tony Gollan. He resumed at Doomben a few weeks back over 1200m where he was a well tried favourite but he just got too far back in the run and while he did make up some headway, he was never threatening behind Outlawed, one of the more in form Mares in Brisbane, so that form reads well and if she can settle closer, she’ll take beating.

Fitter and good upside are two big ticks for 11 Drive A Deel (Bet Now:  $SP.00). Rob Heathcoate trained mare that resumed a fortnight back at Eagle Farm over 1200m where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up ground and was an eye catcher late behind Nashira. Gets better as the prep goes on so may need another run but off the return, she’s hard to beat.

16 The Face (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since winning over this trip at Doomben where he was on speed throughout and when in Sydney, he usually would get a stitch late, but he kept finding and was strong to the line in winning. You’d like to think there is upside to come and with home track advantage, he commands some level of respect.

13 Sha Of Gomer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. He was seven weeks between runs when racing four weeks ago at Eagle Farm where he looked a good thing on paper and despite the break between runs, he was far too good for them. Room for improvement, off a win, he appeals.

5 Lost In Transit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has home track advantage and should take beating. He’s been up a while for Stuart Kendrick but is holding his form super. For the most part, he looked the winner at Eagle Farm a fortnight back but couldn’t quite finish it off, running a narrow third to Nashira in a good effort. Has a good record and with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

11 Our Magnus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been up a while but is seemingly holding his form very well. He ran a few weeks ago at Doomben where he seemingly had every chance from just off the speed and loomed to win but couldn’t quite get the win when a close up third to Preach, beaten under a length. He is knocking on the door to win and strikes another winnable race IMO.

For the first time this prep, 4 Knight’s Choice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is placed to advantage to win. He had a prep aimed towards the Golden Eagle and did race in that event two weeks ago off a poor set up. He actually ran really well in defeat, beaten 4.5L after getting a fair way back. He returns home, hard fit, maps to do no work…if he brings his best, he wins.

3 Dune Forty Five (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance. Rob Heathcoate trained gelding that resumed at Eagle Farm a fortnight back where he got back off the speed and although he took a little while to wind into his work, he found the line and was quite good in defeat behind Ekaterina, a narrow second. Enormous upside to come and up to 1600m, can settle closer…hard to beat.

1 Great House (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been super in two runs back from a spell and should be ready to go third up. Latest run was over the mile at Eagle Farm a few weeks ago and was very good from off the speed, just missing out on the win when a narrow second to stablemate, the very much in form Shibli. Like him here and with improvement to come, he rates for me in a very open race.

8 Deepour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very good sprinter for Adam Campton that resumes. He hasn’t raced since August 5 at Rosehill when far from disgraced in the Missile behind I Am Me, and we know what that mare has done since, so the form reads super and I thought his trial last week at Beaudesert was a very good piece of work. He’ll be spotting them a start but will launch at them late.

2 Shooting For Gold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a quality sprinter for O’Dea/Hoysted that should take beating here. He resumed at this track/distance just over three weeks ago and was the eye catcher of the meeting, finishing off with real purpose late in the piece behind You’ll Be Mist. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll still be effective late and has a touch of class.

6 Zoustyle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is clearly hard to beat against this lot. He had a two run Melbourne prep, both runs seeing him far from disgraced in defeat behind Imperatriz, the best sprinter in Australia as it stands. He loves the Sunny Coast 1000m and with his racing style, it’ll be jump, run and look to cling on.

Looks a perfect kick off point for 5 Defiant Spirit (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who resumes for Stuart Kendrick. He resumes, having not raced since July 1 at this track/distance when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display on Sunshine Coast Cup Day. Resumes without a trial but maps get a sweet sit behind a hot speed and he’ll be stronger than most at the end.

1 Party For Two (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs for O’Dea/Hoysted since leading throughout to gap her rivals at Eagle Farm, where she was always in control from the front and gave nothing else a look in. She seems best suited as a short course specialist and with the break between runs, she should fresh and spot on for this race.

4 Roweiner’s Dance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and give them something to chase. Former North Queensland star that had his first run for Lindsay Hatch a few weeks back at Doomben where he attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent kick but couldn’t quite get there. If the track is playing towards those up/in, he is dangerous at odds.

BEST BET: Race Ten Number 5 Defiant Spirit

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 4 Knight’s Choice

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 8 Colleagues
