The Parks track at Morphettville is where Adelaide racing will take place this Saturday for a handy eight event program. The weather is fine, the track is good (3) and the rail is out three metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; True for the remainder.

Race One (13:08) : Adelaide Galvanising Maiden Plate 1300m

Back Me: 5 Misty Sea (Bet Now: $4.00) is a well bred colt that looks hard to beat here after attempting to lead all the way over this trip at Sandown last Wednesday where he gave a good kick but just tired late when running sixth to the above average Hayes/Dabernig galloper Fast Tycoon. Looks to get speed favours here and he has the form on the board. Keen.
Big Danger: 7 Wasabi Bob (Bet Now: $3.80) is a handy youngster that resumes for the Macdonald/Gluyas stable. He ran really well in the two year old races during the Winter, with the last three runs being behind Captain Duffy and then twice to Zunbaqa, both horses Stakes class. That reads very well for a race of this nature and any market push should be respected.
Long Shot: 8 Brooklyn Lass (Bet Now: $3.60) was having her first run for Tony McEvoy when racing over 1000m here a fortnight back where she got back in the run and closed off okay late in the piece without really threatening behind Viking’s Reward. Up to 1300m is a big tick for this filly, she has upside and you have to respect whatever the stable is saddling up at the moment.

Race Two (13:43) : MAC: STOP DRUG DRIVING Handicap (64) 1000m

Back Me: 2 Irish Mint (Bet Now: $3.20) is a Port Lincoln visitor who smashed them on his home track in his first two runs this time in before racing over 1050m on the course proper on November 5 where he led at a strong gallop and gave a really good kick but was no match late for Zelamore. Gets speed favours here again and Poon sticks.
Long Shot: 6 She Ra (Bet Now: $8.50) has been given a six week freshen up since racing over 1050m on the course proper where she chased a hot speed and just tired late when running third to the above average Luke Oliver youngster Zelamore. That followed a narrow win over Sweet Varden, who has franked the form, as has a couple of others from that maiden.
Long Shot: 10 Dream Starlet (Bet Now: $10.00) is a Star Witness filly that debuts for the Bill Smart yard. Yet to be seen in public, but breeding does suggest she will come to hand early, she is down in the weights after the claim for Finnegan, not much depth to the field…wouldn’t be shocked at all if she ran a cheeky race.

Race Three (14:18) : UBET Handicap (75) 1250m

Back Me: 7 Boggoms (Bet Now: $2.40) was a tough winner at this track/distance two back before backing up seven days later and running a beauty when third to Battle Brewing in a race which had much more depth than what he faces here. Should get a lovely run near the tempo without doing much work and is the one to beat I think.
Big Danger: 1 Pepper The Pin  (Bet Now: $6.50) ran over this track/distance a fortnight ago he was ridden a treat on speed from Eran Boyd and he gave a really good kick in the straight, only to be nabbed in the last hope by Penny For A Pound, who was outclassed in the Marion last week. Drops in depth here and looks the leader.
Long Shot: 3 Double Pockets (Bet Now: $17.00) comes through that Penny For A Pound race where he sat last and just stayed there because the speed of the race was suited for those settling in the first few and for this horse, he needs speed in front of him. The potential is there for the tempo to be genuine, and if that does eventuate here, he is right in the mix as a knockout chance.

Race Four (14:53) : Hughes Chauffeured Limousines Handicap (90) 1000m

Back Me: 3 Olivier (Bet Now: $3.40) is a talented gelding that resumes for the Darren Weir yard. He had a mixed Autumn/Winter, where it started off in brilliant fashion before tailing away a bit towards the end. That there is the key- he is at his best when produced fresh and his first/second up stats will back that up. Keen on him here in a decent sprint race.
Big Danger: 2 Tarco (Bet Now: $2.30) was solid without being spectacular in two runs during the Melbourne Spring before coming back home over 1050m on the course proper here three weeks ago where he sat on speed and gave a really good kick but was nabbed late by Lord De Capio. That horse ran a ripper in the Marion last week, so that form reads very well.
Long Shot: Not so much a long shot but 4 Mio Dio (Bet Now: $3.60) has been the real find of the Spring in SA. He was just known as a mudlark but as we have seen time and time again, Will Clarken just improves these tried horses and he has got this bloke in career best form. He has won his past three, the latest coming over 1250m on the Parks track when savaging the peg to nail Counter Spin on the line. This is a big step up, but he’s hard fit, in winning form and remains down in the weights. Ticks alot of boxes for me.

Race Five (15:28) : Schweppes Handicap (90) 1400m

Back Me: 1 C’Est Beau La Vie (Bet Now: $3.00) is a regally bred mare who won’t match the deeds of her aunt, Makybe Diva, but she is handy herself who is in good form. She ran over this track/distance a fortnight back where she sat near the speed and fought on very strongly when challenged in the straight with Lindop lifting her late. Draws well here and the small field aids her cause. Keen.
Big Danger: 5 Oscar’s My Mate Pa (Bet Now: $3.40) has been up for an eternity it would seem but gee he is just racing so well at the moment. He ran in a 1300m race at Mount Gambier a tick over two weeks back where he was hard in the market and despite copping some heat on speed, he fought on really well in the straight to score a super win. Run prior at Kilmore was okay and the form has held up, plus he’ll get on speed favours here.
Long Shot: 3 It And A Bit (Bet Now: $4.80) was completely unwanted in betting when racing over this track/distance two weeks back but he defied those odds and ran an absolute ripper when setting off the speed and chasing hard down the entire Parks straight when a close up second to C’Est Beau La Vie. Hasn’t won in six runs this prep, but he is knocking on the door and gets a chance here.

Race Six (16:08) : Roadside Services & Solutions Handicap (75) 1950m

Back Me: 8 Sweet Melody (Bet Now: $1.95) is a consistent mare for Darren Weir who was starting to become costly to follow, but the punter’s faith was rewarded with a strong and determined finish to nab Ashlee Marie last Wednesday over 1800m at Sandown. Up to 1950m should be no issue here, not a strong field she’s up against and we know that Weir rarely leaves Adelaide empty handed.
Big Danger: 3 It’s A Silvertail (Bet Now: $6.00) looks the only threat to the stablemate, top tip and favourite. He ran in the Traralgon Cup last start and got a long way back in the run in what turned out to be a race dominated by those nearer the tempo, but he worked home with purpose behind Loving Home. He has the upside here and draws a lovely gate for Jamie Kah.
Long Shot: 5 Have Plenty (Bet Now: $15.00) ran over this track/distance a fortnight back where he sat back in the ruck and chased hard all the way but the race was run at a slow tempo set by the eventual winner Gun Guru, who packed one too many punches for his rivals. Have Plenty hasn’t won for some time, but he is slowly finding some form and strikes a winnable race.

Race Seven (16:48) : James Boags Premium Handicap (64) 1250m

Back Me: 13 Ramesses (Bet Now: $4.20) closed off hard late to just miss out on picking up Rug Rat first up before racing over 1200m at Murray Bridge last time out where she again got back and again savaged the line when a narrow second to Shark Magic in a close and deceptive finish. Stable is in really good form and if they go hard in front here, look for her to ambush.
Big Danger: 4 House Of Wax (Bet Now: $2.60) has been a bit of a tease this time in, but the talent is certainly there for him to fire in a race like this that doesn’t have much depth. He ran over 1200m on the course proper last Saturday where he got back in the run and just stayed there behind Strategic Diamond. Saves his best for the Parks track and if he finds his best, he probably wins. Trusting him is another matter.
Long Shot: 15 Timely Truce (Bet Now: $51.00) is a great $61 roughie. He ran over 1200m at Terang last time out and gee I thought his effort was pretty tidy when finishing 2.5L away from Princess Arrow. He can mix his form but on his day, he is certainly capable of winning this and he does look a silly price.

Race Eight (17:28) : Holdfast Insurance Handicap (70) 1400m

Back Me: 5 He’s A Moral (Bet Now: $5.00) chased hard the entire straight at Pakenham two back behind Sir Sagamore, who ran a beauty last weekend at Flemington. That’s a tick. He then ran over 1300m at Bendigo and was not suited by the tempo when down the track behind impressive winner Land Of Freedom. Winning strike rate isn’t great, but he is a genuine horse who does try hard and he finds a good race here.
Big Danger: 1 Galaxy Gazer (Bet Now: $6.00) resumed over 1200m on the course proper three weeks back where he sat midfield on the rail and didn’t receive the greatest amount of luck in the straight behind stablemate Battle Brewing. Got a fab record on the Parks track, especially at the distance. Big improver for mine with luck in running.
Long Shot: 4 Spiritof Endeavour (Bet Now: $11.00) comes here off the back of just a par effort over this track/distance a fortnight back behind Tycoon Queen where he struggled to make any ground on those in front of him. He has since gone to the trials on Monday and looked very sharp to my eye. Draws horribly, but a must for exotics.
