Nine races have been set down for Happy Valley on Wednesday night with good depth across the program.

2 Storm Runner (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will eventually win a race and I do think this is, once again, a golden opportunity. He has been runner up his last several runs, the latest being two weeks ago over 1800m here when driving hard late from off speed but couldn’t quite get there. Tricky draw but will drift back and hopefully with a drag into the race, he’ll be too good.

4 Star Brose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the same race mentioned above, won by Ninja Derby. He got into a decent spot in transit and was there to threaten but just whacked in the run to the line. That does suggest that 2200m will suit and overall, this is a thin race.

6 Perpetual Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) placed at this track/distance two back before going to the Ninja Derby race when down the track after sitting in the first few. Off the effort two back, that is good enough to see him as a knockout hope.

2 Sky Song (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the straight bat play. He ran second two weeks ago at this track/distance after getting a decent run just off speed. He tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Maps perfect again, knocking on the door and should only run well.

1 Island Breeze (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth in the race mentioned above, won by Golden Friendship. He was the real eye catcher I thought, getting back to near last in the run but worked home with real purpose when fourth. If he can settle closer and be within range, he’s dangerous.

9 Camp Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is your likely leader and will give a sight, like he did in the Golden Friendship race but tired badly to finish down the track, beaten a long way. If he finds the front without spending too many petrol tickets, he’ll run a positive race.

4 Flow Water Flow (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a debut second at this track/distance. I thought his effort was terrific, getting back in the run but was able to slice his way into clear air and finish off quite strongly late. Better for the run, should lob into a good spot from the gate…looks quite clearly the one to beat.

9 Peridot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a David Hall trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t been too bad in his short career to date, being around the mark without winning. He looks to have trialled up really well for the return and will be strong at the end. Watch betting.

3 The Heir (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. He hasn’t raced since Oct 26 over the mile at Sha Tin where he got back off speed and just whacked in the run to the line. He’ll be strong at the end of 1200m. Just depends what sort of start he concedes. Knockout chance.

2 Glorious Journey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top in what looks a two horse race. He is four weeks between runs since a track/distance win, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Tick over trial was pretty good and although he’ll spot them a start, he’ll be strong late and I think will finish over the top.

1 Top Time (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the key and I think only threat. He ran second to Glorious Journey in the race mentioned above. He got back to near last in the run and was strong at the end but had to settle for second. The gate means he’ll likely be back near last again but if he can get a drag into the race, he’ll be dangerous.

7 Up With Charm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a query at the mile given his recent racing has come at 1200m. Latest effort, he was just off speed snd whacked in the run to the line. The rise in trip looks okay and is less exposed than most. First four threat.

1 Northern Fire Ball (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is my each way speck for the meeting. He resumed three weeks ago at this track/distance when quite keen in behind the speed and had nothing left for the straight when down the track. Better suited here, maps to do no work and be effective at the end. He’s worthy of an each way ticket.

2 King Oberon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is five weeks between runs since a track/distance win, sitting wide no cover for the trip but he found under pressure to fend them off and score in impressive fashion. Tick over trial was pretty good and should get a better run in transit this time around. One of the hardest to beat.

8 Loving Vibes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps back up to 1200m after coming back to 1000m a few weeks back here when beaten for early speed but ran through the pain barrier and kept finding the line in defeat. Back up in trip, he’s in the mix as a threat at odds.

5 Double Win (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in a real purple patch and despite coming back to 1800m, I still think he is top seed. Latest win came over 2200m two weeks ago here, getting into a lovely spot off speed before angling for clear air and finished best. He’ll be one of the strongest at the end and hard to knock the way he’s racing.

2 Nearly Fine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran a narrow second to Double Win in the race mentioned above. He got back off the pace and tried to make a sustained run, trying hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. Back in trip is no issue, he’s in positive form, he can threaten for sure.

9 Good Luck Win (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after racing over the mile here five weeks ago. He was back in the run and just whacked to the line, never really looking likely. The rise in trip, I think, suits…doubt he wins but he can run first four at a price.

6 Big Return (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is six weeks between runs since resuming with a sixth at this track/distance, and I thought his effort was full of merit, getting back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up good headway. Couple of tick over trials to sharpen him up, Purton on, he’ll do me.

1 Day Day Victory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in a real purple patch and commands respect. He has won two on the bounce, the latest coming over this trip at Sha Tin when wide no cover throughout but found under pressure to fend them off. Tricky draw here but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

5 Run Run Smart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can bounce back. Tough on speed winner two back at this track/distance before racing here again a few weeks back when wide throughout after a tardy start in a total forgive. Dangerous if he reproduces something similar from two back.

6 Love Together (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks one of the better bets on the card. Really liked his last start effort at this track/distance when off speed and worked home with real purpose in the straight when second. If within range on the turn, I think his finale will be too much.

2 Eternal Fortune (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fifth in the race mentioned above, won by Blue Illusion. He was odds on and got into a decent spot near the speed but couldn’t quite finish his race off. Have to respect the last start SP and say he can win.

5 Casa Of Honor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing down the straight at Sha Tin. He didn’t get the smoothest of runs in transit hut even allowing for that, he was just fair. Better suited around a bend, he can run a much improved race.

6 Super Unicorn (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying and it’s hard to get away from him. He is several weeks between runs since making it successive track/distance wins, giving the a start and a beating in a very impressive display. Maps ideally to settle much closer and be effective late. Happy to be in his corner.

2 South Star Dan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) down the track behind Super Unicorn in the race mentioned above. He got into a decent spot from the wide gate but didn’t fire when asked and ass a bit on the plain side. Tick over trial was good, he’s a definite improver.

11 Nova Knight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when just off the pace and was there to be some sort of threat but just whacked. Not sure he is good enough to win but can be included in exotics at odds.

NEXT BEST: Race One Number 2 Storm Runner

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 1 Northern Fire Ball
