1/6/2013 Horse Racing Tips & Best Bets – Rosehill

The feature race meeting in New South Wales on Saturday will be held at Rosehill racecourse for an eight race meeting all of which look to be very even on paper and should produce some good value for punters.

The weather hasn’t been kind in Sydney and its likely the track conditions at Rosehill will be Slow or Heavy depending on the rain forecast for tomorrow so we have done our form based on those conditions.

Race One: Project Ten (bm75) 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Emblems ran well last start in the best form race heading into this, if he can handle the wet track he will be right in the finish.
Don’t Back Me: Relaxed And Happy has shown he isn’t the easiest horse to handle. Due to getting the top weight there will be a 3kg claimer on board which worries me on him and im happy to risk him here.
Big Danger: Knoydart being by More Than Ready should handle the wet track and has been placed in similar conditions before. Always in the money and id expect the same here.
Roughie: Destiny Rising won impressively last start to break his maiden and im expecting him to go on with it here.

Race Two: Bishop Kevin Manning Plate 1350m Form Guide

Back Me: Moderate won very impressively on debut in a good time. Has won a trial on a heavy track and looks a good type and will be hard to beat.
Don’t Back Me: Amovatio got all the favours at Canterbury last start and against a tougher field here i think he may be a risk at the short odds.
Big Danger: She’s Bella has raced well at all of her three starts. Trained by Gai Waterhouse and has been well backed to win here so must be kept safe.
Roughie: Estonian Princess did a lot wrong and still finished well in a good race at Scone last start which makes the $21 available look good value.

Race Three: Diocesan Development Fund-bm75 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Gullible hasn’t had many favours in her last two starts so im willing to forgive those two runs. Have tipped her on top those starts and im happy to stick with her in this race.
Don’t Back Me: Centrepet was beaten close to thirteen lengths in similar conditions to the race two starts ago which is a big concern.
Big Danger: She’s A Stalker has very good form heading into this race and the claim gets her in well in the weights and is proven on a wet track.
Roughie: Al Nova has a very good record having only missed the placings twice from fourteen starts. Runs well fresh and two starts ago beat home a Group 1 winner on a heavy track.

Race Four: Mackinson D’apice Lawyers Hcp 1350m Form Guide

Back Me: Nocturnelle races better on a rain affected track which she will get here and you can put a line through her last start when she was found to be lame. Will take a lot of beating.
Don’t Back Me: Hidden Warrior has had two starts on a slow track and was unplaced both times so at the odds i cant have him in this race.
Big Danger: Said Com finds a winnable race here and will enjoy a slow track which he is likely to get and will be right in the race.
Roughie: Star Of Octagonal is a very good horse on his day and although he is hard to catch could run a big race and a win wouldn’t surprise.

Race Five: Wn Bull Funerals (bm80) 1300m Form Guide

Back Me: Magnolia Lane is coming out of a good form race first up and has shown to enjoy a wet track which it will be on Saturday. On form she looks great value.
Don’t Back Me: Cradle Me had a good run along the rails at Scone last start but didn’t show enough in the latter stages of the race to show she would be winning next start.
Big Danger: Next The Universe was disappointing last start but pulled up lame two starts ago she raced well in a good form race and this looks easier thus she should go close looking at that form.
Roughie: Aneto went back at Scone last start and was held up at vital points in that race. Will get back on Saturday and by this race if they are coming wide she will be right in it.

Race Six: Bac Systems Hcp 1800m Form Guide

Back Me: Say No More i thought was very unlucky in the Scone Cup last start and would have gone very close with a clear run in the straight.
Don’t Back Me: Illo is yet to win a race in Australia and continues to take punters money, untried on a heavy and im willing to risk him again.
Big Danger: Cantonese will go to the front and dictate the race. There doesn’t look to be too much speed in the field and he may be able to get some cheap sectionals.
Roughie: Euryale has a very good distance and track record plus she loves a wet track and at the double figure odds looks great value for an each way bet.

Race Seven: Catholic Trade Training (bm85) 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Oakfield Comet gets into the weights at just 52.5kg after the claim and loves a wet track. Races well first up and loves the distance. Currently a $20 shot in better which looks super value.
Don’t Back Me: Infinite Energy has never won second up and i doubt he can change that on Saturday were he has drawn barrier 17 and didn’t place at the T/D at his only try.
Big Danger: Territory is coming out of one of the better form races looking at the field and if he can get some luck from a wide barrier will be right in the finish. Looks well suited here.
Roughie: The Great Snowman likes a wet track and enjoys the distance. Should get a good run from a middle barrier late in the day and could throw up a big run for rough result to the race.

Race Eight: Parramatta Catholiccare (bm85) 1500m Form Guide

Back Me: Double Halo has drawn wide which i don’t think will be a bad thing by race time tomorrow with the track likely to be a heavy by race time if the forecasts are correct. Coming out of the best form race and has the class to win this race.
Don’t Back Me: Index Linked has won his last three but steps up in class and on to a wet track which i doubt he will be suited by. Will jump from barrier 2 late in the day were i think an outside barrier will be suited. A risk at the odds.
Big Danger: Little Bro will be having his first run in Sydney and is coming off two good runs in Victoria. Unlucky last start and should go close against this field.
Roughie: Rule Book will be having his first start in Australia and his two trials have looked quite good. Will be better for the run but could surprise first up.

Best Bet: Nocturnelle’s last start run can be forgiven and if you look past that race she went close in a very good form race in which She’s Clean won last weekend and Appearance who has won two Group 1’s since.

Next Best: Gullible always seems to find a bit of trouble in her races which ultimately costs her the win. She finds a winnable race on Saturday and with any luck will be winning.

Best Roughie: Oakfield Comet is a notable wet tracker and conditions will suit her perfectly on Saturday runs well fresh and is way over the odds.
