Race One (12:15) : Green Options Racing Handicap 1050m:
Back Me: 2 Secret Saga (Best Odds: $3.60) looks the way to go in the opener. He resumed against the older horses in the Bribie and stuck to the task very well after missing the kick when third to Into The Red. Back to his own age, draws well, Shinn aboard…ticks the boxes.
Big Danger: 3 Divine Centuri (Best Odds: $3.40) is an up and comer for Stuart Kendrick. She ran on her home track at the Sunny Coast last time out and produced a lovely turn of foot from off the pace to win impressively. No reason why she can’t continue the picket fence.
Roughie: 8 Strata Lady (Best Odds: $10.00) creates plenty of interest here. Former kiwi now with Tony Gollan and stable rider steers off the back of a couple of handy trial efforts. Back in NZ, she had form around Sofia Rosa and Dal Cielo. Big market watch.

Race Two (12:51) : Criscon Commercial & Industrial Constructions Plate (Class 6) 1110m:
Back Me: Looks to be a stack of speed here, which will suit the in form 2 Another Whiskey (Best Odds: $2.40), who was too sharp for his rivals three weeks back at the Sunny Coast. If he can punch and hold a spot near the tempo, he will take some beating.
Big Danger: 13 Sammi Jain (Best Odds: $14.00) ran well here first up behind Glenbawn Dame before going to that Another Whiskey race and got a bit too far back. She can bounce back from the good draw with no weight on her back.
Roughie: 11 Sony Legend (Best Odds: $26.00) is on the back up after racing last weekend at the Gold Coast where he got stuck wide early and perhaps did too much work. He is better than that and is another that will appreciate a genuine speed.

Race Three (13:26) : Led Super Screens Handicap (85) 1350m:
Back Me: All you can do is win and that is what 7 Elegant Composure (Best Odds: $2.60) is doing. This unbeaten type proved too good for its rivals at the Sunny Coast last time out and did it comfortably. Maps extremely well here and I think she will win again.
Big Danger: 4 Gotyacovered (Best Odds: $9.00) wasn’t really fancied in betting, but a lovely ride from Robbie afraid got the horse home in what was a really good training effort by Kelso Wood. Query is he might race flat second up, but the win was too good to ignore.
Roughie: 12 Beckham (Best Odds: $11.00) could be an improver here. He ran fifth in that Gotyacovered race and was excellent in defeat given he copped severe pressure on speed and only faded the last couple of strides. He draws to lead then take a sit, so if that eventuates, he will go close.

Race Four (14:06) : JRA Cup 2000m:
Back Me: 2 Opinion (Best Odds: $11.00) goes on top for me in a tricky race. He resumed in the Hawkesbury Cup (1600m) and I thought he was a real eye catcher behind stablemate Amovatio. Second up here at 2000m and he finds a very winnable race.
Big Danger: 6 Real Love (Best Odds: $2.70) is a quality made that comes here off the back of a closing second to stablemate Doctor Care over 2000m at Caulfield whee she surged late and just missed. Has plenty of upside and stable is flying.
Roughie: 7 Lock’s Legend (Best Odds: $7.00) won’t know himself with the significant weight drop. He didn’t look happy at all last time out here behind Maurus, but the weight drop and regular rider Jimmy airman aboard couple spark improvement.

Race Five (14:46) : Moet & Chandon Champagne Classic 1200m:
Back Me: 2 Souchez (Best Odds: $6.00) resumes here for Godolphin. He hasn’t raced since taking out the Pago Pago in the lead up to the Slipper. Stable knows which horses to send to this Carnival and his recent trial was encouraging.
Big Danger: 11 Tiyatrolani (Best Odds: $2.00) is the unknown. Very sharp filly for Tony Gollan who absolutely spanked her rivals here last time out, winning by a space and running fast time. Can she do it here against the big boys? Time will tell.
Roughie: 3 Attention (Best Odds: $26.00) resumes here for Team Snowden after failing in the Sires. Win prior was good, so he can’t be left out despite running just an even trial at Warwick Farm. He can sit off a speed and launch late.

Race Six (15:26) : Singapore Turf Club Trophy 1600m:
Back Me: Gee if the rain comes, then launch onto 1 Rudy (Best Odds: $9.00). On form and class, he is clearly the best horse in the race. Back in trip after running a game fifth in the JRA Plate at Randwick and only needs luck here to look the winner.
Big Danger: 3 Jumbo Prince (Best Odds: $4.20) is on the back up after racing at the Gold Coast last weekend where he closed off strongly against the tempo behind Coolring. He won’t be far away here and Jim Byrne steers.
Roughie: 10 Feltre (Best Odds: $12.00) ran over 1350m here a fortnight back and closed off well late behind Gotyacovered. He is Stakes performed up to the mile and he does have enormous upsidet.

Race Seven (16:06) : UBET BTC Cup 1200m:
Back Me: I think it could be a Chris Waller trifecta. I’m leaning towards 1 Delectation (Best Odds: $15.00), who hasn’t raced since finishing midfield to Chautauqua in the TJ Smith (1200m). Form has obviously held up, and his two trial wins since have been outstanding. He performed well during this Carnival last year and is a much better 12 months on, plus is racing here against inferior company.
Big Danger: 11 Japonisme (Best Odds: $3.40) was given an absolute peach steer from Bowman to win the feature three year old race of the Championships, the Arrowfield Sprint (1200m), albeit narrowly, but he was impressive. He has since won a trial at Randwick, beating home Counterattack by over a length and looked to do it very nicely. Three year olds have a good record in this race and this horse is one of the best rated horses in the race and gets the allowance for being a three year old.
Roughie: 14 Echo Gal (Best Odds: $51.00) is a watch horse for me. Talented mare for Gai Waterhouse who resumes here off the back of two trials, both of which were run in fast time and she was on speed in both, so no doubt she will be wound up, and from the good draw, I can see her punching forward and getting the ideal drag up behind Two Blue.

Race Eight (16:41) : Mitty’s Rough Habit Plate 2000m:
Back Me: 6 Mackintosh (Best Odds: $2.90) was given a 12/10 by Avdulla to win at Hawkesbury last time out in what was his first run for Chris Waller. Can only see upside and he has already been one of the best backed runners across the weekend, so I’m happy to be in his corner.
Big Danger: If you backed 14 Tap This (Best Odds: $8.50) in the Gunsynd, you really wouldn’t want to remember. She was in a hopeless pocket and really should have won had she got clear at the right time. Draws another soft gate and won’t be far away.
Roughie: 9 Brazen (Best Odds: $16.00) didn’t beat much last time out at the Sunny Coast, but gee he showed a lovely turn of foot on the bog track to win easily. He is another with upside and gets the services of Brad Rawiller.
