A crack ten race card has been set down for Rosehill on Saturday, with a host of feature races set down on the program. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out five metres for the entire circuit.

Run To The Rose 🏆: View the Field and Odds for the Run To The Rose
Race 1. (11:50) Midway (Bm72) 1200m
5 Treize (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to be a mare who has returned pretty well fro John Sargent. She did a very credible job when resuming in the Midway three weeks back given she was fresh, leading, and nearer the inside, which wasn’t the spot to be, so her run had good merit. Upside, good racing style, she can win for sure.
3 Lovero (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one of the key threats. Ryan/Alexiou trained mare that resumed at the midweeks at Warwick Farm where she was near the speed throughout and tried hard but had no answers late for Bonita Queen. Better for the run and the form around her reads very well for this.
4 Lancaster Bomber (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Richard Litt since racing in the Midway at Randwick when near the speed throughout and tried his heart out but he couldn’t quite see it through when beaten a few lengths by Well Timed. Not sure he can win, but he can run top four.
Race 2. (12:25) Tab Highway Hcp (C3) 1400m
12 Agirlsbestfriend (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Marc Quinn trained mare that has been kept on ice since Coffs Cup Day over 2000m where she just didn’t run the trip out, finishing midfield behind Ashim. Freshened up, like her back in trip and a tick over trial at Port Macquarie was quite good. She’ll stalk the speed and I think she’ll be quite strong late. Each way all day for me.
1 Intervarsity (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a bit on these if she runs up to her recent form. She attempted to lead throughout in the Mona Lisa at Wyong and gee she gave a strong kick but she couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late by Terra Mater. That was a Stake race. Now back to Highway grade, gee she takes beating.
10 Prophets Daughter (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here four weeks between runs since resuming in a Highway here. She got off speed and was held up at times but was pretty good late in the piece behind Intervarsity. She’ll be strong late and for mine is a knockout hope.
Race 3. (13:00) Chandon (Bm88) 1800m
7 Unusual Legacy (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a beauty for Chris Waller and for mine, is one of the best on the card. He resumed over 1500m here two weeks ago and was one of the runs of the meeting, closing off with purpose from the back when third to Too Much Caviar. Fitter and up in trip, can settle closer…I think good luck beating him.
2 Raf Attack (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks the leader and from there, he takes beating. He couldn’t find the front in the Rowley Mile last time but kept finding the line in a good effort. Like him up in trip and if he finds the top, he takes running down.
8 Up And Under (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be given another look. Not sure what to make of his run behind Too Much Caviar. He might have put in an ordinary stride and hurt himself hence why J Mac thought his action went and eased him out, but the vet found nothing. He looked to be trucking prior to the mishap so keen to see him again, especially up in trip.
Race 4. (13:35) Hot Rod & Custom Show (Bm78) 2400m
4 First Light (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks ready to win for Chris Waller and is one of the hardest to beat. He was a month between runs when racing over 2000m here two weeks ago. He was a bit one paced when the sprint went on but he picked up and was strong to/through the line behind Matusalem. Hard fit, up to 2400m, like him a lot here.
12 Monfelicity (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks so well placed at Midway grade. This mare ran two back herte behind Etna Rosso. She got back in the run, checked, held up at times…yes, had her chance, but I think she should have finished closer behind a horse who would be $1.10 here before going to Canterbury and was close up in defeat behind The Englishman. Key chance I say.
1 Outlandos (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 2400m for John Sargent. He ran two weeks back over 2000m here where he got back in the run and just found them too sharp, failing to get involved behind Matusalem. He does have a strong record at 2400m, he has good upside and the quality is there to give this a shake.
Race 5. (14:15) Nsw Thoroughbred Breeders (Bm78) 1500m
13 Vivy Air (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and she should just about be at peak fitness for Ciaron Maher. She has had two runs back from a break, both coming here, the latest being two weeks ago when chasing from off the speed but found one better in It’s A Knockout. Hard fit now, touch of quality, rates highly.
17 High Dandy (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to have come back in enormous order for Brad Widdup. Didn’t beat much but was arrogant first up at Hawkesbury before going to Canterbury where he led throughout and was just as impressive in winning. Good test here, and a tricky draw, but will press forward and take beating.
7 Zondee (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one of the key threats. He ran a fortnight back at this track/distance when getting the suck run in transit behind the speed and while he seemed to have his chance, I think he’d be better with room to move instead of sit/sprint behind Too Much Caviar. I think with time to wind up, he’s dangerous.
Race 6. (14:50) Sheraco Stakes 1200m
3 Joliestar (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the one, clearly…do I want to take the short odds? No, but I can’t tip anything to beat her. Her win three weeks ago in the Show County…it was that of a superstar. Yes, she beat nothing, but the arrogance of the win was something else. Back to Mares grade, has eyes on The Everest…she should win.
2 Sunshine In Paris (Bet Now: $SP.00) is here to play and make an Everest statement if Joliestar is off her game. She is a star mare in her own right that has had injury issues throughout her career but there is no denying her talent and she has trialled up really well for the return. Huge market watch.
6 Mumbai Muse (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to be in for a good prep. She resumed in the Toy Show where she got off speed and was good late without threatening in a solid return behind Kimochi. Better set up here, can settle closer in the run and still be effective late in the piece.
Race 7. (15:25) Ming Dynasty Quality 1400m
I think 11 Lady Shenandoah (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a quality filly and I think she’ll run here given the stable would love her to get a Stakes win and the stable/connections have Autumn Glow next week in the Tea Rose. She jogged in a Rosehill trial last week and her efforts last prep behind a potential star, gee it reads well for this. Surprised she is the price she is.
6 Iron Hawk (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a horse with an engine under the hood. He comes through the Up And Coming where he was last in the run and held up at times but when eventually clear, he found the line and was really good late in the piece behind Autumn Glow. Like him up in trip and with a more positive ride, he’s dangerous for sure.
9 Media World (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m. Peter Snowden trained three year old that resumed two weeks back in the Up And Coming where he got into a decent spot behind the speed and presented to win but being first up, condition just gave way. Fitter and up in trip, I am not penning him.
Race 8. (16:00) Run To The Rose 1200m
1 Traffic Warden (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one of the horses I am most keen to see return this Spring. He could be the next start of racing and be a multiple Group l winner by the time this Spring concludes. He is first up, having not raced since the Sires during The Championships when beaten a lip by Manaal. His trials have been electric to my eye and IMO is here to rock and roll, and really make a statement.
2 Storm Boy… (Bet Now: $SP.00) is he back on track? GaiBott trained three year old that returned with a bang, taking out the San Domenico a fortnight back, producing sustained speed from the front and gave nothing else a look in, winning impressively. If he can run up to that performance, he takes running down once again.
6 Fearless (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. He is a good looking horse for Team Snowden that resumes, having not raced since the Champagne when third to Broadsiding, ending a solid prep. For me, he could be a Spring Champion horse and his trial work has been great. Knockout hope from the gate.
Race 9. (16:40) Theo Marks Stakes 1300m
10 Encap (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Gary Portelli since racing in the Show County when first up. He got off speed and while he was never threatening, he found the line well enough in defeat I thought behind impressive winner Joliestar. Fitter, good record at Rosehill, hard to beat.
1 Celestial Legend (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a star four year old for Les Bridge that resumes. He had a fab Autumn prep, highlighted and ended with Group l wins in the Randwick Guineas and Doncaster Mile. His main this prep is the Golden Mile so he’s nowhere near ready re fitness but his trials have been good, he has class and does love Rosehill. Market watch for sure.
I am very interested in 13 Tannhauser (Bet Now: $SP.00). Chris Waller trained four year old that resumes, having not raced since the QLD Derby where he couldn’t get involved and was found wanting late behind impressive winner Warmonger. His trial work has been great and although he has eyes on better races, over longer, he has quality.
Race 10. (17:15) Tab (Bm88) 1100m
14 Blanc De Blanc (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to be in for a good prep. Michael Freedman trained mare that resumed over 1100m here a fortnight back. She got off the speed nearer the inside and kept finding the line in a pretty good return behind impressive winner Briasa. Fitter, can settle closer, hard to beat I say.
11 The Black Cloud (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be given another look. Three weeks between runs since contesting the Toy Show when near the speed and was there to threaten but couldn’t quite finish off and didn’t measure up. Tick over trial was good, lands on speed and her best is good enough.
3 Unflinching (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Team Freedman trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since April 1 at Warwick Farm when leading and giving a decent sight but couldn’t quite see it through behind a talented horse, Renosu. He is a good fresh horse, loves the short course, hard to beat.
